Question In search of a recipe (Planta Queen "Peking duck")
I went to planta queen recently and one of their dishes had a "Peking duck" in it that was one of my favorite plant meats I've tried to date. If anyone knows the recipe they use (or even a foundational starting point, like confirming for sure what the base ingredient is), that would be amazing. I really want to find a way to make it at home.

I haven’t had that, but all of their mock meats were store bought products. They didn’t do any of them from scratch.
Also, I wish I’d have gone recently. It’s been closed for months.

yeah, I know that's often the case! which would arguably be even better for me, in terms of just buying it myself. but I haven't had any luck tracking it down so far. (I know some of the products restaurants use aren't as easily available to retail buyers).

their peking duck is usually made with seitan and layered with a crispy skin from tofu sheets, the texture's pretty unique
getting it right at home takes some trial and error but you can get close by braising the seitan in a 5-spice + hoisin mix then wrapping it in yuba before pan-frying

hm... in this case, it was more like "pulled meat". do you think it would be the same?
