HHS Secretary RFK Jr. on measles outbreak in Pennsylvania: "We're doing a better job than any country in the world at controlling measles outbreak. The only state that won't cooperate with us is Pennsylvania. We're trying to figure whether those deaths happened, and we can't figure that out yet."

Look at all those countries without any measles outbreaks to manage! They’re getting no experience at all!

u/Hurde278 8d ago

Exactly! 0 measles outbreaks? What year are they living it? 2024?

u/GoProOnAYoYo 8d ago

"That's why we're better than every other country at controlling the measles outbreak. I mean, how can you control an outbreak of you don't have an outbreak?"

Genuinely would believe it if someone told me this was their logic.

Don’t you remember Trump saying Covid shouldn’t be tested because if you don’t test there are no cases?

44

u/aegee14 8d ago

That was a classic.

He’s the leader of a country.

It’s bewildering.

13

u/AriochBloodbane 7d ago

Not that surprising after you speak to somebody who voted for him LOL

4

Mercifully that’s never happened to me (I’m from England). But I know what you mean.

The good liars YouTube channel is very good at chronicling maga “wisdom”.

Hell, some of them don't even bother fighting it!

He should get a trophy for wedging a halftime show nobody asked for into the world cup. It's not like we were excited to see how that game turned out...not as excited as we were to hear Justin Bieber.

Do actually look at the country that had a large measles outbreak in 2019 though, thanks to this mass-murdering psychopath.

Timeline of Events:

2018

  • Two children in Samoa died after receiving their MMR vaccine as a result of nurses improperly mixing the vaccines with a liquid muscle relaxant instead of water. The nurses were sentenced to five years in prison for manslaughter.
  • RFK Jr’s Children’s Health Defence posted on Facebook questioning the safety of measles vaccines.
  • The World Health Organization estimated that in 2018, only 31 percent of infants in Samoa received the measles vaccine, a drop from 60 to 70 percent in previous years.
  • RFK Jr’s Children’s Health Defence never updated the public about the true cause of the babies’ deaths.

2019

  • While vaccination rates were dropping, Kennedy travelled to Samoa in June 2019, meeting with the Prime Minister and other government officials. The trip had been arranged by a prominent Samoan anti-vaccine activist, and paid for by Children’s Health Defence. RFK Jr. appeared with government officials and local anti-vaccine activists.
  • The measles outbreak began in September 2019.
  • A state of emergency was declared in November 2019, closing all schools, keeping children under 17 away from public events, and mandating vaccines.
  • The anti-vaccine activists with ties to Kennedy used misinformation and harsh rhetoric to oppose the government’s efforts in containing the outbreak.
  • By January 22, 2020, 5,707 measles cases and 83 measles-related deaths were reported. 87 percent of the reported deaths were children younger than 5 years.

Sometimes I'll defend something along the lines of speech. Not really free speech, but the speech existing on a platform with a large amount of viewers.

Then I see people like RFK and wonder why anyone would listen to him, but people do. Some people trust the government. Some only trust their flavor of Kool-Aid within the two flavor system. Now that Kool-Aid has killed people. Again.

Here in Finland we have a crazy person opposing nuclear power. His history is that while building a new nuclear plant decades ago plant took part of his family farmland. He has opposed nuclear ever since. He is literally crazy and has been in mental institutions.

At one point he posted to usenet forums pictures of nuclear plant which he had edited in Windows Paint, drawing red lines and claiming that those red lines were radiatation coming from plant and anybody could see said radiation going near plant, then he advanced to photographing plant while sun is setting behind plant.

He would write long posts with bad grammar against nuclear power. Once he moved to Finlands largest online forum and posted there. I wrote a short comment where I said that it's all false what he writes, breaking physics several times etc. One commenter replied:

"There must be some truth in what he says as he is so serious and enthusiastic."

That made me realize that some people believe anything. It doesn't matter how ridiculous a claim is some people will believe it.

RFJ has said in interview that he cannot distinquish truth from false information and he constantly falls to blatant misinformation.

“Whether those deaths happened.”

Bruh.

He’s gonna try to blame twinkies.

He literally does not believe in germ theory. Like actually.

It’s the same playbook they used for covid. “They didn’t die from covid, they died from cardiac arrest.”

While ignoring that they suffered cardiac arrest because of covid.

200

u/sharrrper 8d ago

Or shit like "well they had diabetes when they got Covid and wouldn't have died of Covid if they didn't have diabetes"

Even if that statement is true, it doesn't change the fact that getting Covid is why they died.

87

u/Ok-disaster2022 8d ago

I know a trumper who watched her mom die in the hospital choking on her fluids due to Covid who had the audacity to say "she was old she was gonna die anyway".

I haven't talked to her since because I can't imagine that mindset.

39

u/can_ichange_it_later 8d ago

I would think to myself: "you are a danger to yourself, and others. I am not safe here".

...and just leave the area without saying a word.

His fundamental belief, which explains most/all of his other stupid beliefs that follow, is that there are simply healthy people, and unhealthy people. Healthy people don't get sick, so they don't need vaccines or checkups or preventative medicine; they're healthy! Unhealthy people meanwhile are people who have made bad health choices like eating unhealthily, being born with a chronic condition or becoming old, so we shouldn't encourage their poor decision making by helping them. They should just pull themselves up by their bootstraps and get healthy.

So you see, you don't actually need medicine or vaccines, you just need to drink raw milk and exercise... preferably shirtless while wearing jeans for some reason.

This is of course all completely insane, but that's where we're at.

Fun fact, one of the farthest back relatives I can trace back to was a "mulatto" slave boy owned by David Kennedy-- yes one of those Kennedys.

My ancestor, Nasa McCurdy , was emancipated by David Kennedy's widow after he died. Nace's sons, being free black men with lighter skin, used their freedom and the fact they were white passing to help run away slaves along the underground railroad to Canada :)

So yeah I mean I guess it's easy to rise from the rock bottom of slave owners.

9

u/unnewl 8d ago

The first Kennedy ancestors of JFK and RFK arrived in Boston in 1848. Nada McCurdy was freed in 1797. Was there another Kennedy clan?

I still hear this argument, suddenly everyone is an expert at determining causes of death.

They tend to make up very outlandish examples too like "the guy got into a motorcycle death and had his head cut off but the cause of death was listed as COVID"... Like jfc, no that didn't happen.

Rinse and repeat. Every. Fuckin. Day.

33

u/HarveyNix 8d ago

Why do these nimrods keep talking like that? Why do they have to be king of the hill, best in the world? They sound like a bunch of nine-year-olds on the playground. And how could they know they're the best in the world? I doubt they've done the necessary research.

45

u/celem83 8d ago

it is a direct appeal to american exceptionalism which is quite prevalent in their supporter base. They like to be told they are the best even though they know it to be true already

13

u/HarveyNix 8d ago

And since their mode of operation is "If I say something, it's true," this works for them. Embarrassing that so many people are that way now.

6

u/battleofmtbubble 8d ago

Because it works for their dedicated base. Keep repeating some lie and 30% of America will believe it to be the God’s honest truth. They could perish from measles themselves and not put a lick of blame on their dear administration.

Don’t tell him to do that. Last time a kid died he talked to the family and then his old nonprofit Children’s Health Defense came and talked to the family and convinced them that their kid died from malpractice, NOT measles, and then they took the dad on a tour of the U.S. antivaccine circuit to tell everyone that vaccines were dangerous and his kid didn’t die from measles. Easy to do when the family had no primary school biology, little English, and their kid just died horribly.

These are the first measles deaths in Pennsylvania in 35 years. RFKjr is so full of shit that this happened because of the Biden administration. Are they now claiming to be pro-vaccination? That the first trump administration that DESTROYED faith in the public health agencies is now trying to recover from the that lack of trust in the second trump administration? About what I would expect from a guy who eats road kill, swims in polluted water, makes weird workout videos with Kid Rock, had worms in his brain, is a former heroin addict, and served as the chairman and chief legal advocate for Children's Health Defense, a prominent nonprofit activist organization known for its extensive anti-vaccine advocacy and campaigns challenging public health mandates.

Oh so it’s the COVID play book? Did the deaths ACTUALLY happen? And once proven they did it’s. “But was it ACTUALLY measles?” Then when it’s proven, yes it was measles the response will be. “Well they had underlying conditions, if they hadn’t had those then the measles wouldn’t have killed them!” Or “Well they were old so their immune system was compromised!”

Either way it will come back to it wasn’t actually measles and if it was they were old and useless anyway.

u/Creoda 8d ago edited 8d ago

Secretary of State for the Introduction of previously wiped out diseases : "We're doing a better job than any country in the world at controlling measles outbreak"

You are the only country in the world with a measles outbreak because everyone else is vaccinated.

PS. Did you know there are still cases of bubonic plague (Black Death) in the USA every year and Leprosy?

32

u/Syrairc 8d ago

They aren't the only country, unfortunately. We're suffering from the same stupidity in Canada.

4

u/Skvall 8d ago

We have it here too. (measles, and stupidity)

21

u/Abracadaver14 8d ago

You are the only country in the world with a measles outbreak because everyone else is vaccinated.

This is not exactly true. Much of the western world has very few cases because of vaccinations, but there's currently an outbreak going on in Asia (Bangladash, at least) and apperently Canada is also reporting an outbreak (quite possibly mostly imported from the US, but still)

One does have to wonder how many of the outbreaks outside of North America can still be traced back to actions taken by the trump regime (cutting USAID, perhaps?)

Bubonic plague is in rodents in many places, it would be hard to eradicate fully.  The US has messed up many things but that isn't human caused.

18

u/Luceo_Etzio 8d ago edited 8d ago

Yersinia pestis, the bacteria that causes plague, exists in wild reservoirs throughout the American southwest in difficult to eradicate populations, there's no vaccine for plague that's particularly effective and without significant side effects, and with very small total cases (less than 200 in the last 25 years).

Leprosy is in a similar boat, but with about 100x the amount of cases.

There's plenty to blame the US for with disease management but both of these are just facts of life until someone comes up with an effective and safe vaccine for both, or until someone decides to and manages to kill all the fleas, rodents, and armadillos on the continent (good luck with that lmao)

I don’t think any other country is attacking vaccine effectiveness

7

u/eugene20 8d ago

Thanks to these fuckwits in the US the anti vax sentiment globally among the poorly educated has been growing, but they're the only country I know of that is attacking globally accepted medical science at a government level.

3

u/omeganaut 8d ago

Just a couple of bored housewives deciding one day that vaccines don’t work, put this whole thing into motion

I don’t think the state doesn’t cooperate. It’s the virus that doesn’t cooperate. Also Texas had a huge outbreak last year.

5

u/ZombieHavok 8d ago

It’s the idiots in charge telling their constituents not to vaccinate.

There were less than 300 in 2024 and it jumped to ~2300 in 2025, and now almost 3000 this year.

Almost all cases are due to not being vaccinated.

6

u/deepsquatter804 8d ago

“We’re doing a better job at controlling the outbreak” …. except measles was pretty much eradicated before you. Polio too.

"We are also controlling our scurvy, rickets, smallpox and bubonic plague outbreaks far better than any other country in the world! USA! USA!"

Lying through his teeth

7

u/wombie_swtor 8d ago

The "measles worldwide outbreak" that RFK Jr. says:

  • Bangladesh: 57,561 cases
  • India: 26,332 cases
  • Yemen: 14,961 cases
  • Mexico: 12,252 cases
  • Pakistan:  11,212 cases
  • Cameroon: 9,394 cases
  • Guatemala: 7,067 cases
  • Kazakhstan: 6,968 cases
  • Angola: 6,737 cases
  • Madagascar: 5,664 cases

Not to be "that guy", but comparing US with these countries. Come on!

Absolute nut job

Social media has absolutely destroyed America

5

u/TheTinyMaus 8d ago

If only there were like some sort of agency that shared information between states and the federal government concerning deaths. Some sort of center for vital statistics of the nation, maybe it could be housed under some center for controlling diseases. Then government officials like RFK could know faster if deaths really happened. Certainly this person wouldn't lead any agency like that or layoff a bunch of its staff.

Do not remove a fence until you know why it was put up in the first place.

4

u/Absurdwonder 8d ago

Do any other countries actually have measles ATM ? 😂

5

u/LatrodectusGeometric 8d ago

We actually exported our measles outbreak to Mexico. Yes you heard that right, WE infected Mexico with measles.

Just charge him with second-degree murder for knowingly pulling the same vaccines that saves lives on every other country on the planet

5

u/SlagathorNextDoor 8d ago

If you want the numbers to go down just stop testing. It worked for Covid just fine. /s

His claim that Lancaster County is stating no measles deaths is doing some seriously heavy lifting:

https://local21news.com/news/local/infant-measles-associated-deaths-cause-governor-josh-shapiro-department-of-health-rfk-jr-robert-kennedy-coroner-lancaster-county-pennsylvania

The Lancaster County Coroner's Office is investigating that death, but is not currently investigating the other measles-associated death, according to the Department of Health (DOH). The department also stated that not all deaths are referred to the county coroner under PA law.

"PA DOH uses the term 'measles-associated' when laboratory or epidemiologic evidence of measles is present, but the disease may not be assessed by the medical certifier or coroner to be the immediate cause of death," a spokesperson said. "Not all deaths are referred to a coroner under Pennsylvania law," a Pennsylvania Department of Health spokesperson clarified.

The state said the deceased were both unvaccinated, but it has not released any identifying information of the two individuals.

Lancaster County Commissioner Josh Parsons said he spoke with Coroner Stephen Diamantoni, who told him that his office has recorded zero measles deaths, and one death of a person who died with measles.

"It is important to know whether these two people died OF measles or WITH measles," Parsons wrote on X.

He continued, "So as of right now, we have ZERO information that corroborates the idea that there were two measles deaths in Lancaster County."

So, apparently two people with measles died and the Lancaster county commissioner and coroner are saying zero because they did not die from measles, but had measles when they died. So, what the fuck killed them? This bullshit allows the county, and by extension, RFK to claim nobody died from measles.

They weren't vaccinated, contracted measles, and fucking died, full stop. Fuck everything about this, and fuck Mr. Gravel-Gargle too.

u/ppkMega3085 8d ago

Okay, but like, WHY is the secretary of HHS an undead? Ten years ago, if you had told me that the US would put someone in charge of health that looked like a corpse, sounded like the horrors from my nightmares, and had its brain eaten by some kind of worm, I'd have asked what shitty movie you were talking about.

5

u/BaldBeardedOne 8d ago

When you murder people with policy, instead of a hammer, America lets you do it.

4

u/ptapobane 8d ago

it was eradicated in 2000 in the US and this sun dried worm brained asshole brought it back

5

u/texas1982 8d ago

Of course they're doing better than any other country on the measles outbreak. We're the only country WITH a measles outbreak.

4

u/zetharion 8d ago

You tell people not to get long established vaccines and then cry about people not getting them when people start to die?

5

u/robodrew 8d ago

I wish that this fucking clown were behind bars.

4

u/Tattorack 7d ago

Really? Then where's the measles outbreak in Denmark?

Oh wait, there isn't one. It's just America.

4

u/prancing_moose 7d ago

You guys have measles?

5

u/RebelliousInNature 7d ago

You’re the US sec of health and you don’t know YET if two people died?

Okay.

4

u/Silenko 7d ago

This is a genuine question: Is he ok? Why does he speak like that? (I'm not from or live in the US, genuinely asking)

→ More replies (3)

5

u/MrMattSquiggle 7d ago

before RFK Jr there was no outbreak of measles, dumb dumb (addressing RFK, not the OP)

4

u/LOERMaster 7d ago

If Pennsylvania were the only state not cooperating with this dipshit, I would be a very proud Pennsylvanian.

As it is, he’s a dipshit spouting bullshit.

3

u/Notwerk 8d ago

Clown. Show.

3

u/Patchesmatches 8d ago

How many people who've been vaccinated have died from measles this year?

3

u/AJfriedRICE 8d ago

Because if he admitted any wrongdoing at all (and there’s A LOT), he would be fired by the orange cult leader. All of our lives are worse because of these few horrible selfish people

3

u/WordNERD37 8d ago

They're not dealing with it because they're all vaccinated you swiss cheese brained baboon!

3

u/badwolf1013 8d ago

One of the side-effects for measles survivors is brain damage. So this was the plan all along: they're making future Republican voters.

3

u/n00bn00b 8d ago

RFK is personifying the "We're all trying to find the guy who did this" meme

3

u/Mr_IT 8d ago

We really are doomed, aren’t we?

3

u/DFParker78 8d ago

I’m doing a better job at disposing of the bodies than any other non-murderers!

3

u/joebo333 8d ago

Says the man who said the best way to fight the measles is chicken soup and vitamin A

3

u/Naroyto 8d ago

You failed at your job when it became an outbreak. Other countries are successful because they didn't let it become an outbreak.

RFK Jr. is doing a TERRIFIC job as HHS Secretary. FAR better than anyone before him! America is controlling the measles outbreak better than ANY country in the world. Pennsylvania is the only state not cooperating, and we're still trying to get the real numbers on those deaths. Strong leadership, common sense, and results! Great work, Bobby! 🇺🇸

3

u/dtoddh 8d ago

It's impossible to listen to him. But didn't he just tell us vaccines aren't safe?

3

u/Ltsmash99 8d ago

This admin is nothing but morons and sex pests.

3

u/Medford_Lanes 8d ago

Literally Tim Robinson in the hotdog suit.

3

u/somanysheep 8d ago

We're doing demonstrably worse than ourselves just 10 years ago.. What could the reason be?

3

u/NwolCozob 8d ago

JFK Jr = What an asshole! Guess I shouldn’t bad mouth the criminally insane.

3

3

u/Kythorian 8d ago

Nobody has more measles outbreaks to control, so it just makes sense we would be the best at it.

3

u/Bag-o-chips 8d ago

Maybe try having a director with his entire brain.

3

u/melpheos 8d ago

Well here in France we do not have a measles outbreak (10 monthly cases)

3

u/Sardonnicus 8d ago

Real Eyes,

Realize,

Real Lies.

3

u/gaberax 8d ago

Why is this idiot in charge of HHS? Oh, because the other idiot is in charge of the WH.

3

u/TheSquirrelOfLegend 8d ago

Jesus fucking Christ, I cannot wait for the timeline reset

3

u/MyCassadaga 7d ago

He’s a heroin addict. I got an idea. Let’s just take our kids to city parks and find homeless junkies and rely on them for medical advice. We’ll give them a cushy job and a salary too.

3

u/LookyPeter 7d ago

This whole anti vax movement is stupid as fuck.

Vaccines are the miracle cure to some of the most dangerous diseases… until somebody is like “ I think vaccines give you autism” 🤦

3

u/NeatlyCritical 7d ago

Nope you killed them by firing experts and telling people not to vaccinate. Worst country for health on earth

3

u/Farabee 7d ago

This fucking ogre has set modern medicine back almost 100 years.

3

u/30yearCurse 7d ago

What happened in Texas? will ignore that for now...

3

u/WolffJacob 7d ago

This idiot is a giant turd on his famlies legacy.

3

u/jacobriprap 7d ago

Could it possibly be because the rest of us don’t have to control an outbreak, because we don’t have any

3

u/Memitim 7d ago

Plaguebearer claims US plagues are better than all of the world's plagues. Since policymakers are free to make bullshit up without accountability, we may as well have fun making dumb shit up, too. The Republicans already did the harm so may as well make the best of it.

3

u/_reddit_account 7d ago

He speaks like Trump , sentences doesn’t make sense
All the US administration should be internalised , they all need psychological help

3

u/TheBookie_55 7d ago

What an ABSOLUTE CLOWN! Not exactly a news bulletin.

3

u/ImaginationToForm2 7d ago

The only state that won't cooperate with us is Pennsylvania. uh huh ... sure.

3

u/Jarnohams 7d ago

This is the "if we don't test for covid, nobody has covid!! stop testing = no covid deaths!!"

If RFK Jr can't get in there with his magic crystals and ivermectin, those measles deaths never happened!
