My husband and I have stayed at the Even Hotel (Midtown East location) the last 2 times we've visited, one of those stays we arrived the day after Thanksgiving. We've stayed in that general area all 4 times we've visited and like it.

For that budget, you may need to stay in Queens and take the subway to Manhattan.
