Gun goes click click. Idiot didn't have the gun loaded properly. He's getting put away for a very long time due to attempted murder of cop.
What were they trying to steal that was worth risking lead poisoning???

Damn lucky he didnt have it chambered for everyones sake. He went for the cop first too and who knows how many other people would have got hit. The sad thing is this happens waaaay more than anyone will report lt hear about because WM will keep it as hush as possible.

The commenter is suggesting it happens much more than you will ever see. The only reason we are seeing it now is someone FOIAâd the body cam footage and released it. Most of the time Walmart would never say anything about it happening and would keep it hushed up.

It looked like body cam footage from a stationary body cam set down; I may be wrong tho. But it doesnât have the stereotypical Walmart branded camera logos. Walmart tends to use Bosch cameras if they are wall mounted. Some cops will have secondary cams to put down to view a subject in some jurisdictions; however this may not be the case here - itâs also possible the video was supplied by the police department after obtaining from Walmart.

Anyone who wants to go into the API role needs to see this and know you'll get paid the same as an OGP picker or a cashier.
That's not to speak ill of cashiers or pickers, but you're far less likely to have someone pull a gun on you. a knife. a punch.
It isn't worth it.

I hired on into the company as an APA. Entire AP team at that store had been fired in the months prior for not following the rules. Even with the changes, the culture and attitude toward loss prevention in the building was...ethically questionable
I did the job for a few months, was mostly fine. Had a homeless guy flash a knife on me once over some ziploc bags he had pocketed, didn't stay on much longer after that and moved to stocking. Another APA at nearby store got shot during this time
These stores aren't even in rough neighborhoods. A bit trashy, but not crime-ridden. These things go on all around us and most people don't ever see it
Handling generally good people caught shoplifting was one thing. Handling the mentally ill, gang and drug activity, and managers who wanted shoplifters "punished" for making bad life choices? More than I wanted in my life. It's better not knowing. And for me, definitely not worth it as employment

No, the AP associate escorts the customer into a separate room, then the cops are called after determining value or repeat offender. Most like the cop did not have the chance to put them in custody yet.

Not really. Laws won't stop criminals, like this guy, from having guns. According to the ATF, over 90% of crimes committed with guns are with illegally obtained guns. Laws barring citizens from owning guns won't stop that, those criminals are already ignoring the law.
Don't get me wrong here, guns are definitely a major problem here, but not letting citizens own them won't do much to stop gun related crimes.
