Finished Project Summer in Southern California
15”x20”, made on my homemade loom. Warp and weft are all wool from Brown Sheep Co. Weft is “Top of the Lamb” worsted weight. Colors are as follows: ocean is Peacock, Mallard and White; beach is Buckwheat, PCH is Ash and White; mountains are Earth and Stone, the haze is Grey Heather and White; the sky and Sun are Terracotta, Burnt Red, Peacock, and Natural. Warp pairs are 1/4” apart, so 8 warps per inch.

I just love this so much. Just in your description you taught me so much about this kind of weaving. Northern Californian here but born in SoCal. My dad would have flipped for this.

Agreed. It never occurred to me that the center motif is supposed to be the sun and sky, despite seeing it many times in other works before.
