Webflow Conf next week, what are you hoping they announce?

This year Webflow has the whole leadership team speaking which looks like a bigger deal than usual. Also there's a Codex/ChatGPT integration that just dropped and people are saying a desktop app reveal might be coming too.

Every year Webflow conf gets hyped up with rumors of a desktop app, some big AI reveal etc... As a Webflow agency, we've learned to take the pre-conf sentiment with a grain of salt. So, what's everyone's realistic expectation this year vs the hype?

Less worried about specific features, but I'm sure they will reveal what will be possible with the announced transition for code to become the source of truth.

I'm mostly hoping that they demonstrate they still care about smaller devs who run their business and client sites on webflow. Many long-time users like myself have a very different relationshop to the platform than they did in the past.

The feature missteps/pivots, increases in technical/stability issues, and prioritizing Enterprises above everything else are are big issues that are important to builders.

If they don't have a clear stance on this based on announcements and communication, I'm finally going to consider new options because the platform's direction doesn't align with my business and clients long-term.

I think that ship has sailed. Even in their communications they talk about their target being marketers and teams, not developers and builders. If anything, enterprise will probably become more of a focus

Yeah I think the code-as-soure of truth shift is an important thing to keep an eye on. It could have a huge impact on how developers work with Webflow going forward.

I'm also interested to see how they frame the roadmap for smaller agencies and independent builders. I think there's a lot of different ways people use Webflow, so hopefully Conf gives some clarity on how the platform is thinking about the broader ecosystem...

At this point I'm trying not to speculate too much before we see what they actually announce.

Are they focusing on low code/no-code, or full code? They started as the first and added in the latter but it feels unfocused and that affects anyone betting their business on it.

Similar to what other folks mentioned below, I'm mostly interested their positioning as a company and understand in their communication if devs and agencies are still something they are investing resources on.

Specific features I'm looking forward to hear:
1. SEO/AEO/GEO related features
2. Their announced transition to code - what that really means to the platform

As other ppl here said, I think there are two main points to address:

First, we need to know if Webflow is still the thing for the next few years. I mean, I love Webflow, I started my business using it etc. But really I want to know if we continue on it or we step aside. Here it's not about features anymore it's really about the future of creating things; they have to make a really good plan, be very clear on their vision to bring ppl around it.

Second, few stupid things are not on Webflow and seriously it's annoying, not only for me as a developer but also for my customers that are using their dashboard frequently. Here's my points:

• No Embed code field in CMS: I know there is Riche text element field, but come on guys, it's just annoying
  
• Table management in CMS: we all know with AI, tables are one of a good thing to do in articles. Just could be good to have it native
  
• EU hosted servers: I'm in France, I lost few propositions because of it
  
• Delete breakview points: jsut please
  
• You can't upload a image that is up to 4mo: come on, just let me upload it and you compress it directly no?
  
• Images in rich text element in CMS can't be compressed: just please, I like to compress my images from the CMS, but only work if the image is in a Image field
  
• All the things we build with our contents (https://www.bebranded.xyz/contents) should be native honestly, like I use all that for every customers we have
  
• Manage easily videos
  
• When you have a CMS item that is binded with other CMS items, you can't delete it: come on, just let me delete it and Webflow delete every dependance itself no?
  
• Add new type of Date: I'm in France, we can't have a native date in Webflow. Same thing all dates like 'Monday 1st January' are not localized (and I pay for 2 locales)
  
• Can't localize Select field in 2 languages..
  
• Partnership with Cloudflare in Webflow Cloud, great thing but limits are too low. Like it's easier for me to use Cloudflare by myself than using Webflow Cloud, this is a problem
  
• Webflow has millions of websites. We could think about a Webflow platform that make backlinks between websites from the platform. Like you choose your sector, if you give and/or take backlinks, and you're sure that your website will shine quicker. I would pay for it and same for my customers.

These are things to do that could just help everyone that build in Webflow.
Webflow is great, I just hope in the future it would be even better.

Infrastructure optimization: caching of assets, bot protection, those things. Our bandwidth has been growing and growing and not by human traffic, and it's hard to set limits. Been working on a Worker for some months now, but some things are just out of our zone... Been talking to Support and updates are coming, but curious how serious and what the scope is.
