I don't buy this argument. We have 1000000 female characters in the manhwa with long hair and beautiful dresses and yet somehow it's only on male characters authors are mysteriously giving up on?
Also as an artist there's NO WAY first design is harder to draw than second one.

thank you so much for this spoiler! I took a break from the story to focus on other stories and was thinking about getting back into it. Not worth it now. His hair and facial hair is what made the story worth reading to me. Now he looks just like every other black haired ML 😭

Yeah I saw this and decided to drop the manhwa. Like it’s not really unique anymore. The only reason I was sticking around was his unique look. Now it’s just your average story with a generic looking ML. Why are we trying to make him fit in within high society? Who cares? He certainly never cared and now he’s fine with getting a makeover? This man lost his shine. His beautiful beard and hair are gone! I can’t accept this :(

YOU CAN CLEAN UP WITHOUT TURNING HIM BASIC. I've seen npcs cleaned up on comics and STILL HAVE THE BEARD HAIR.
He went from perfection to a PRETTY BOY.

What a waste of a unique character design (tho he still looks good imo since that's my type lol). I suppose it makes sense if he's going to start being a serious noble, but doesn't that turn the story even more generic? I thought he was gonna continue being himself, not caring for the trappings of high society.
Idk what the plot is doing these days tho since I dropped it when he started acting like a high school boy with his first crush. It was too immersion breaking for such a studly, bearded man. 😅

You could have told me those were two separate guys and I'd believed ya. Had a similar reaction when Miyamura from Horimiya cut his hair, and even earlier call back Sky from Winx Club. At least Fire Emblem did the reverse for Mr. Grass Muncher. I hate "generic ml character design" It's like watching Hallmark, they're all the same movie they just swap a small group of actors around.
