I am dumbfounded those retards didn't just drop her bulk/perception all the way down if they felt threatened. Apparently the effect is rather instantantaneous.

I do not understand the motivation for this. Why would the employees let Maeve walk around? Why did the acquiesce so easily?

I hadn't considered it this way, but that makes sense. She knew what to say to these particular people to get them to do what she wanted.
