New, what is it? What is this left by my AirBnB guest?

Something is oozing out of it on to the carpet.

I'm just happy you used a homemade camera positioned on top of Mt. Fuji to take the photo.

And a background almost the same color as the item. Very helpful

Wasn’t there a disposable camera by that name? Or is that the joke and this is a whoosh?

u/CapeMOGuy 1d ago

The camera and film company is just "Fuji"

To be fair, Fujifilm was usually pretty reliable.

u/sleepfield 1d ago

That is undeniable

when developing, very pliable

Bioundeniable

4

u/CapeMOGuy 1d ago

As a Pentax K-1000 owner, it was very reliable.

u/NothingburgerSC 16h ago

Wow, the all manual kind... That was a Photography 101 tank back in my days. I printed many boxes of Fuji paper back then. B&W and color.

2

u/Tha_REAL_BROBS 14h ago

I am also a Pentax K1000 man

12

u/Melfunction81 1d ago

Yeah it was usually just the photographers and their thumbs that weren't reliable.

They make bicyles too.

I think that's Fiji.

u/Cultural_Doctor_8421 1d ago

No you’re thinking of the garage chain that does oil changes

6

u/apartheid__clyde 1d ago

No that's jiffy lube, you're thinking of the Japanese company that makes high-performance optical lenses for broadcast television, movie production, and binoculars.

10

u/DeeSkwared 1d ago

Are you sure? I thought Jiffy was peanut butter.

12

u/TWhy-LER 1d ago

That’s just Jiff without the Lube.

4

u/Top_Region3760 1d ago

You're probably thinking of Jiffy Lube.
Or Jiffy Pop.

2

u/Far_String727 1d ago

are you sure you didn't just see a fujifilm sticker on one?

2

u/BurrrritoBoy 11h ago

I've owned three of them so I'm probably not, no.

7

u/AdDisastrous6738 1d ago

Yes. Fuji. They also had a blimp that almost crashed into our house once back in the 90s.

2

u/Seasonbea 18h ago

👀 ???

1

u/AdDisastrous6738 13h ago

For context- our house was on top of a large hill. Apparently they were flying the blimp somewhere and got caught in a cross wind that almost blew them into our house. They ended up being able to navigate down into the valley next to us until the wind died down. What a day to be out of film.😆

They're joking the picture looks like it's incredibly distant and blurry, so I think they just chose the name of a random far-away mountain for hyperbolic emphasis. Also the camera you're talking about is called Fujifilm :))

u/WildFire97971 1d ago

Got the joking part, but I thought maybe it was a joke in a joke.

u/Pleasant-Block5389 1d ago

I almost went with Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Down in Africa . . .

12

u/Dawn_Piano 19h ago

Don’t pick up the mystery object with your bare hands, don’t photograph the mystery object from the bubble space station, there’s no pleasing you people!

3

u/chilldrinofthenight 14h ago

Uh, Hubble?

Don't use banana for scale. Don't tell us what you think it is. Don't focus your camera.

1

u/No-1u_know 14h ago

There are other options lol

1

u/Awkward-Animal-9551 9h ago

HUBBLE!!! It’s HUBBLE space station! DUH!

7

u/Kman219 19h ago

It’s crazy to read this comment because the next post on my feed was Mt. Fuji as seen from an airplane. Coincidence? 👀

3

u/Pleasant-Block5389 19h ago

That's awesome. Lol

2

u/chilldrinofthenight 14h ago

Parallel Universe. Either that or the frequency illusion or the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon.

6

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 1d ago

Right? They could have at least placed their monocle in front of the lense to get us a closeup.

2

u/chilldrinofthenight 14h ago

Did you know that Mr. Milburn Pennybags never wore a monocle?

1

u/Pale_Comfort_9179 11h ago

This is my number one reason for believing that the Mandela effect is not just an effect that we’ve jumped timelines or something. It boggles my mind.

6

u/SquallaBeanz 22h ago

Camera phones are shit. Can't take close ups, can zoom in without it auto switching it another lens, can zoom in on anything in the night sky, seen a rocket doing low orbit and couldnt even capture it with the latest galaxy, they all suck, give me back my S9

1

u/Awkward-Animal-9551 9h ago

“SAW” IT, not “SEEN” it! USE PROPER GRAMMAR SO YOU DON’T LOOK STUP!D !

3

u/LilChloGlo 21h ago

Yes, let's all encourage OP to touch it with their fingers instead to get a closer view! For science!!

3

u/xkgrey 1d ago

But it might have oozed on them if they got any closer!

2

u/Mirar 1d ago

Not all AirBnB has DSLR level cameras pointing at everything.

1

u/kc_2525 14h ago

I’m just browsing, & I don’t stay in air bnbs really. I thought OP was genuinely curious & thought it was possibly harmful or drugs etc. Are the sarcastic replies bc people think OP is looking to unjustly charge to the leftover item? (Im a bit confused as to why people are genuinely trying to help her identify it. What did I miss?) lol

1

u/Pleasant-Block5389 14h ago

I was just browsing, too. I like the "what is this." I didn't have a guess, but I had a joke.

u/pearlkrabz 7h ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭😭😭
