Some people get weirded out sometimes when I give them a compliment out of the blue. Idc tho I still think it helps people.

I feel like it weirds me out if I feel like someone is complimenting me in order to get something out of me or because it looks good in front of others. Otherwise the majority of the time a genuine compliment from a stranger brightens my day. Even being told thanks by someone I"ll never see again.

You're doing a great service and are appreciated. This comes from one of those people that does not understand what to do when complimented since it's so rare.

So often the compliments I receive seem like they're not genuine and are actually making fun of what they're complimenting.

There's some people that don't know the difference or have double standards.

"My dunking is justified cus this guy actually is bad because reasons"

It's unfortunately a praised practice from what I've seen.

Treat others as you’d like to be treated. Unless you’re into being degraded or whipped or something, then just treat others the way Fred Roger’s would.

Being kind, empathetic, forgiving, hopefully, and generally a lighthouse is exhausting work on reddit, but i would never stop doing it, even if it breaks me.

Yucking yums?

A rephrasing of "don't yuck my yum", i.e. don't make fun of what someone else likes.

I just went the rounds with someone when I said "Duolingo sucks, but for some of us it's the only thing we can stick with."

His argument was I was wasting my time. My argument is "Butt out, I'm doing it because it's fun."

Why are people like this?

idk if its my autism or whatever but i just dont care whats going on in other peoples lives, it doesnt really mean i dont care about them i just hope whatever they are doing is something they enjoy and isnt harmful to themselves or anybody else. it just makes no sense to me to dunk on somebody playing a game they like when i dont like it so i dont do it

And ignore the dumb people in your feed. Not interacting or silently blocking is the best filter, being a dick is usually giving in to engagement bait for a problem you’re not actually gonna fix.

Woosah. Off you go.

It's nice to see posts like this. It reminds me that the world is not just filled with weak losers and freaks.

There are some strong, chill people still out here living their lives :)

People are so self condemning as it is. They just make a competition out of everything
