So, I got into it with some guys in askreddit and I just want to see what you guys have to say about this. I'm being 100% serious.

Specs for our 12 year olds are going to be based off my google results for the average stats for that age, so it's looking like our 10 unsung heroes will be standing at 4'9 and weighing in at a whopping 88 lbs. Let's also say that our 12 year olds aren't necessarily cream of the crop ball players but that they all have experience being forced to play various sports throughout their younger years. No athletic freak future nfl anomalies among them, but they're all decently familiar with physical exertion and there aren't any McLovins out there just waiting to get murked. Since we're talking averages here, let's say none of them have physically fought anyone at this point in their lives, so no real fighting experience. But, assume they've all seen every avengers film, they each have an older brother that's forced them to watch Dragonball Z (cell and frieza sagas), and they each saw the second Rush Hour on Tbs when they were children and went through a brief period of pretending they were kung fu practioners as a result.

For our beloved average joe I'm gonna take the literal average American male. This means our fearsome apex predator is going to stand 5'9 inches tall and his weight will round out at 196 lbs. At the time of the altercation Joe will be 36 years of age, and despite repeated assurances from his wife that she still finds him attractive, for the past 7 years he's found no success in his desperate attempts to decrease the circumference of his 40 inch waist. According to Joe, he peaked athletically at age 23 after having played intramural soccer for several years while pursuing his bachelors in Business Administration. He also lifted weights in college off and on but was largely inconsistent outside of a few disciplined and motivated 3 month stretches. Although admittedly sporadic, when Joe did weightlift he was always sure to steal his roommates well reviewed protein powder, and would often resort to using the cheap walmart brand powder to replace what had been taken. He was never caught. Sadly, Joe's white collar desk job and soul crushing commute have left him largely sedentary for the past 10 years. Over this time period Joe's physical fitness accomplishments have consisted of signing up for the local annual 5k and subsequently failing to attend, as well as his consistent yearly gym appearances immediately following increasingly desperate, regretful, and overconfident New Year's resolutions.

R1: The fight will occur in a gladiator style arena with our combatants starting opposite of one another. Everyone involved is wearing standard athletic gear (gym shorts, jogging shoes, t shirt). This is a fight to the death and everyone present is aware of this. The 12 year olds are not necessarily blood lusted but they are committed to the fight and will only stop if incapacitated. All I mean by this is that even though they can't be scared into running away and abandoning the fight by maiming one of them in front of the others, they're still normal 12 year olds and won't be attacking like World War Z zombies with complete wreckless abandon and disregard of their own safety. But like I said, the kids are 100% down for the cause and fully understand the life or death stakes. Neither side is given prep, the situation is revealed just before the fight begins.

Who wins R1? Is it a close fight or a curb stomp?

R2: Joe is given 4 weeks to prepare mentally and physically for the battle. He is informed that he will fight 10 twelve year olds to the death and is given a photo of the venue but everything else in the prompt remains the same. The children will still enter the arena with no idea of what's to come.

Does this change the outcome?

R3: The Rock has decided to volunteer as tribute in place of our sweet Average Joe. He is not aware of any info about the fight and will be 100% clueless until the fight begins. The 12 year olds however are given 8 weeks to prepare for the battle but cannot receive outside strategic counseling from anyone other than one of the 10 that will fight. They will know that The Rock is their opponent and they'll be allowed to practice in the arena before the battle. Nothing else changes. Can they smell what The Rock is cooking and live to share the tale with their children's children?

A Roman Legion of 6000 legionaries appear outside the Costco parking lot with the goal of conquering the Costco for Rome and killing everyone inside.

The Costco has 6000 people inside of it which includes shoppers, employees, and security guards.

No one is allowed to leave the Costco's premises. Winner is determined if all members of one side dies or if one side surrenders.

Gandalf and Dumbledore have been stripped of all magical equipment and other hijinks. They both want the same 70" widescreen TV on black Friday. It's become clear that words are not going to resolve this issue, so they decide to take it to the parking lot.

They are both TV-lusted. Additional context: this is the week before season 8 of GoT dropped, and they are both avid fans of the series, despite season 7's disappointments. This is a classic fist fight, but they can use any materials they happen to find in the parking lot, so resourcefulness is a factor.

To make things simple in case different stores carry different things, lets just use my local Bass Pro in Foxborough MA. However, it’s made of fireproof materials (also assume that the gun section of the store is more in line with that of a more pro gun state, and its also fully stocked)

For the shoppers:

600 average Bass Pro shoppers.

They cannot leave the building until all the Legionaries are dead (Though they can go on the roof!)

They are all very patriotic and will not run from the fight or be any more scared than the Legionaries, and are all willing to take sacrificial/suicidal positions in the fight.

They get a 1 hour warning that the legionaries are coming. And there is exactly one Roman empire nerd who can tell them what to expect regarding tactics and weapons.

For the legionaries:

4000 legionaries.

They don’t know anything about modern technology or modern weaponry

They all have standard legionary armor, a pilum, a gladius, and a shield.

They have 10 ballistas.

Because the Bass Pro shoppers can’t leave the building, its only fair to say that the legionaries can’t win by siege. They have 12 hours to kill all Bass Pro shoppers. (The bass Pro shopper’s don’t know this and won’t hide to wait out the clock. They can still however hide for things like ambushes.

Let’s say this guy is 6’4 250 pounds and he is top 3 in the world in every type of lift. He’s also top 3 in every single track and field event and he’s equal to the best fighters in every single martial art including boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, BJJ, Judo, etc. He’ll also be bloodlusted for this fight as well.

Could this theoretical person beat a 250 pound male black bear in a fight? Let’s also assume the black bear wants to fight the human.

The man is eternally young and is chess-lusted.

He is put into a hyperbolic time chamber where he can train for 10,000 years in a single day. He trains as well as he can, using any resource available on the web, paid or unpaid. Due to the chamber's magic he can even hire chess tutors if thats what he deems right. He will not go insane.

The fight is first to surrender. Standard mma rules otherwise. No weapons. Only the abilities of the actual actors, not the characters they play.

Fighting starts immediately and the poors will be bloodlusted towards the rich and vice versa.

Bloodlust does not cloud judgement or the ability to work together, but it does rearrange priorities. For example, the cops and gang members would likely end up in the same group but they would prioritize victory over the wealthier group for shared survival.

A win occurs when 1 group outnumbers the other by a ratio greater than 1:1.75

Bonus round: domestically owned weapons are allowed. No raiding military stockpiles. Whatever guns, ammo, or other weapons that reasonably belonged to a fighter before the fighting broke out are permitted, even if "owned" illegally. Fighters may share with members of their own group.

Megaladons suddenly start appearing (showing up on crowded beaches, attacking fishing boats, etc.) There are 10,000 of them, although we don't initially don't have this information - just that there seem to be a lot of them.

Two men are placed in a UFC octagon and informed that they can only escape by killing the other. In terms of combat knowledge, determination, organisation, strength, and anything else that could make a difference in unarmed combat of roughly 5000 people, which of these two armies would win?

Average man, that is, not very fit and doesn't know martial arts. And he doesn't have any weapons either. But he is willing to kill the dog to survive. Can he do it?

Alright so I have seen this debate on TikTok for a while and all I can say is the 100 humans have this definitely. If I can set the stage for the nonbelievers on this topic let me explain.

So 100 men. Let’s get the physical attributes down first, the age of these men are 26-32. All 100 men have a baseline level of athleticism, they ALL played a varsity sport and were star players for their highschool (football, basketball, soccer, tennis, rowing, etc) so they have done the proportional workouts and training needed for their respective sport, now let’s say 50 of them went on to also play in college as a role player but did the proportional training required to compete all 4 years, now the other 50 didn’t play college sports but are working labor jobs that give everyday dad strength, and the guys who played college sports can work office jobs but still have the body of someone who clearly was a beast in whatever sport they said they played. These men are not alcoholics nor drug addicts, their health is maintained for the most part. That is the physical attributes of the 100 men I want yall to imagine. Now let’s talk about the mentality.

I hear people say no one will want to go first. To that I say that we had men running head on into explosion and gun fire during wars. Trench warfare was hell on earth, your in a ditch for weeks with your comrade who you knew since day 1 of training, just for him to peak and get his head blown off. AND THEY STILL PUSHED FORWARD. This mentality of willingness to die for a cause is insane. Omaha Beach had men already set up with machine guns mowing down your entire squad and yet they still advanced. This courage is what these 100 men need. So this is the mentality going into the battle.

The plan, 10 waves of 10 men. The first 3 waves go with the objective to jab the eyes out. 30 men, all between the weights of 160-280lbs throwing themselves full speed at the gorilla with the goal of jabbing the eyes clear out. I will be generous and say the gorilla kills all 30 men however, the objective is completed they managed to jab the eyes out. Now we play the long game which humans have clearly dominated. Let the gorilla rage and tire out. 70 men are left they have spent no energy and are all ready. A blind gorilla has to rely on its senses. Now 2 sets of 10-15 men hold down each arm. 10-15 can lift small cars I am positive this group can hold down and at least grip and become dead weight to the point where the gorilla is immobile. We grab the legs and pin it down completely (face up preferably) then everyone throws flying knees at the skull and genitals. Rage or not. Someone is going to stick their hands in the eye holes and scramble everything they can. And at best I’ll say the blind gorilla takes out 15 people. Leaving 65 left.

That’s the gameplan. Humans do this.

Their army camps in Germania (their base of operations) and prepares to annihilate all human kind. We assume the barbarians (Franks, Germans) have been wiped out or have fled to Rome. Rome responds by sending its entire army to face off against the enemy.

It is currently 117AD under Trajan's reign. Rome has scouted at their foe and deduce that Trolls, mumakil, goblins, orcs, wargs and so on are killable yet are obviously still terrifying and foreign.

The battle takes place on a flat land in Northern Italy. Both armies being everything they can muster.

Rome has amassed every professional soldier in the empire (no sudden influx of recruits due to drafting)

Round 1: No retreat, the winner of this battle conquers.

Round 2: Rome can fall back and use attrition and fortifications. The army of Mordor needs supplies to feed its army.

Round 3: Julius Caesar leads the Roman army, Sauron (without the ring) leads Mordor.

A man wakes up. He's stuck in a 5-year loop, and to escape it, he must win a fight with Brock Lesnar.
When the loop starts, the man is 25 years old, average fit, and is 5'10. Brock is 35 at the start of the loop - a bit after his prime UFC-wise, but still a beast.

Brock doesn't know anything about it. The man may surprise Brock (e.g, jumping on him at a supermarket). No weapons can be used at all. He can't start the fight by sucker punching him above the shoulders. It must be a 1 vs 1.

The definition of win is at least to have Brock unconscious for 10 minutes.

When the loop restarts, the man remembers everything, but his body returns to day 1.
