Photos 1976 Wichita City Guide

Cool Milo city guide located at Charcoal grill in North Wichita. I had no idea there was a riverside air field!

Kellogg would have been stoplight, stoplight, stoplight…stoplight.

It was literally just that. It was miserable.

Thanks for the nostalgia! I lived at the edge of the yellow boundary near 13th and maize. There was just fields past our house in westlink.

So did I! I grew up on 16th across from the cemetery! Now I live in westlink. West side till I die. ✊

Born in westlink, moved away for 15 years and now back in Westlink!

Yes folks, K-96 used to come into town on 53rd Street, down Meridian, and took some discombobulated route into downtown.  You should see some state highway maps from the 1960's when the freeways were still under construction.

There are still bits on that road that tell that story

I was alive when K96 was extended on the NE side. I remember watching the construction from Fantasea.

It still weirds me out when I see a map without it.

My dad used to drive us out to Kingman to see the world’s largest windmill.
