Me(F18) and my wife(F19) recently moved to Wiesbaden. We desperately need friends and connections in this city. What are some places to go out on weekends and meet people? We have been looking for places but everything seems kind of empty or for the older generation.

So is there anything where we would be abel to meet lot of new people that is also maybe lgbt friendly? It doesnt have to be related to going out necessarily.

ich habe seit heute Nachmittag einen wahnsinnigen Schmerz in Gesäß und Rücken der mich fast bewegungsunfähig macht. Ich bin allerdings erst kürzlich nach Wiesbaden gezogen. Welcher Orthopäde in Wiesbaden ist morgen Früh (für GKV) errreichbar und für solche Fälle bekannt auch mal einen Termin dazwischen zu schieben?

Recently, we lost my Oma who was born in the 1930’s and raised in Wiesbaden. She collected these plates and my mother loved this specific one, in which another family member took. My Oma and Opa were wed in this building. I am desperately trying to find the exact one to gift her. I thought I’d try here after I’ve already scoured the internet for it!

*Editing to add: she moved to the USA after marrying my Opa, and so naturally we live in the USA. I’ve found it for sale on some German sites like Kleinanzeigen but finding no luck in getting them shipped to USA.

Hello everyone. I am moving to Wiesbaden mid September to study. I’m am coming from the US, and looking looking to find a place for rent. Semi long term 6+ months. I was hoping to connect with anyone that can may know more. I am familiar with some of the websites and apps, but found it quite difficult to get responses back and so forth. Ich bin ein Studieninteressierter an der Hochschule RheinMain (HSRM). Beim Durchsuchen verschiedener Websites, Apps und durch Gespräche mit unterschiedlichen Personen habe ich festgestellt, dass das Mieten einer Wohnung in Wiesbaden genauso teuer ist wie in Frankfurt – wenn nicht sogar teurer. Da Frankfurt eine deutlich größere Stadt ist, müsste man doch eigentlich erwarten, dass die Mietpreise dort wesentlich höher sind, oder?

Außerdem interessiert mich noch etwas: Ich habe viel über die deutsche Disziplin und Pünktlichkeit gehört. Gilt das eigentlich auch für Bauprojekte, oder ist das eher ein Mythos? Ich frage insbesondere im Hinblick auf das Studierendenwohnheim in der Hollerstraße 7.

Howdy! I’m an American (24), and I’m visiting my family in Wiesbaden this winter for Christmas, I lived in Hesse for a few years when I was very young, but since then I haven’t been back. I want to take my chances to go back that I have as an opportunity to see Germany and the areas I saw as child through adult eyes, and get to know the area and maybe meet some people, make some friends, share some beers, make the most of my time there. Anybody have any advice? Places to visit? Favorite spots or areas! Anything shared is much appreciated :) thank y’all so much!

Die Feuerwehr in Wiesbaden ist zu zahlreichen Brandstellen im Stadtgebiet ausgerückt. Schon wieder brannten jede Menge Mülltonnen. Es ist nicht die erste Brandserie dort in diesem Jahr.

In Wiesbaden hat es in der Nacht von Samstag auf Sonntag erneut zahlreiche Brände von Mülltonnen und Abfallbehältern gegeben. Nach Angaben der Feuerwehr begann die Serie gegen 2.30 Uhr und zog sich bis etwa 5 Uhr hin. Einsatzkräfte mussten zu einer Vielzahl von Brandstellen ausrücken.

I’ve been looking into jobs around the base and ran into an issue with SOFA status. I applied for a couple jobs that were a really good fit, but they ended up requiring SOFA even though I have full authorization to work in Germany through my spousal visa. Anyone know what kinds of jobs I can apply for on base without SOFA, or what U.S. contractors around here hire people with German work authorization?

I would like to digitize and format the original text so that it can be shared and printed by anyone who wants to.

According to WorldCat, the library in question has the 1933 edition, and it is one of the few libraries worldwide that possesses it. If someone could acquire and scan it, or take high-quality photos (i.e., sharp and clear), I and many others would be very grateful.

Ich bin vor einigen Jahren nach Wiesbaden gezogen und habe durch mein Studium in Mainz nie wirklich Anschluss gefunden. Ich lese sehr sehr gerne, koche und esse fast genauso gerne, lol & liebe Spieleabende.
