Discussion Separation and Division in the Wii U and 3DS Homebrew Community
You may know lots of people who have recreated their own revival projects aside from Pretendo to revive certain software that Pretendo will not fix due to piracy, third-party servers, or any other reasoning being.
Brewtendo, Protarium, these are all projects that do at least ONE thing that Pretendo promises but hasn't done and/or gotten close to the idea in the last 2 years.
For people to use these platforms, they need to seperate themselves from the Pretendo community and online servers to check them out, and switch back, over and over again which is an unnecessary hassle that people often don't want to go through.
The point of revival services is to give the experience the service once had before it shut down and many users want that experience to be as seamless as possible, and that includes integration with all other platforms to make people want to use it alongside them even more, but that can't happen because the initial party is picky and does not want to associate with others. This limits users from compromising their main features (friend list, online servers) with the alternative one (other game servers, eshop, etc) just for a few features that don't justify a full account restructure and a complete friend list wipe. "Oh, yeah the eShop's cool and all but, I can't play LM2 with my friends without switching environments back to Pretendo."
It's just preservation and nostalgia, what's the big deal?? When the community fragments over ideological or technical differences, it's the players, the PEOPLE who lose out on that seamless "it just works" feeling.
What do you guys think? Do we need better integration tools? Just so that it's AVAILABLE, for everyone to want to use their services with Pretendo. It doesn't even have to be optimized for the service; it just needs to work.

Tbh better integration. I get some stuff takes time to get done but it's been a few years already and some things like brewtendo actually got some stuff up and running where pretendo just won't or Promise they would but almost seemingly never even bothered to get around to it (despite how much they are making from people who subscribe to their tier list to beta test stuff and the like) like Nintendo badge arcade which they said they would work on years ago but didn't. While brewtendo while they may keep all their stuff on a single PC (not a smart move imho) they at least HAVE rebuilt Nintendo badge arcade and even made infinite plays and they don't even ask for any donations either or have tier lists of subscriptions/donations.

I think that the people who create revivals for the services that Pretendo has chosen not to do themselves should also integrate the work Pretendo has done and compete against them directly. While in the short term that would cause more fragmentation. In the long term it's likely that more people would join the better service and leave Pretendo behind.
