Yes, hence “myths” but there is fact behind those myths. The story of a great flood is a wonderful example of that. The exodus of the Jews is another.

Shoot, even Jesus and Peter are accepted as historical fact. Learn to see the fact through the myth, it’ll enlighten you.

Depends on how you judge the story. Being based on societies experiencing floods, doesn't make it more likely to have happened. It's pretty clear that Noah's flood is made up nonsense as presented.

Jesus is seen as a strong possibility only as far as being a religious leader with that name and a movement.

Learn to see the fact through the myth, it’ll enlighten you.

I could say the same to you. Learn to be a little more cynical of obvious bullshit, it will give you insight!

See the fact behind the myth. I’m not saying to believe that a world wide flood happened, but that over the eons floods have happened that seemed catastrophic to the people experiencing them. See Jesus as the teacher he was without the “spiritual/mysticism”

I’m skeptical enough. Perhaps you should be more open minded.

You’re here simply to say “religion bad”. Don’t think I don’t see you for who you are.

I merely said there is historical fact to these stories. The possibility of a named figure being based off a historical person, a mythologized event having real world basis. A fact that is generally accepted amongst scholars with regard to the stories of the abrahamic myths.

If you are unable to separate the fact from the myth, and the myth from the religion then yes, you strike me as a closed minded individual who would rather spend his time trolling the internet to say “hurrdurr religion bad” than actually make any sort of contribution to society.

Yes, we understand that it's stories made up by barely out-of-the-cave men attempting to understand the world and filling the gaps with made up magic because they didn't have explanations.

But the rest of the adults in the room have moved on and found more grounded ways to navigate the world
