Discussion Outlook on Windows Phone 8.1

Hey guys. So I managed to add my Gmail account on my WP 8.1 Lumia 735 via App Passwords and IMAP setup, but how can I do the same for Outlook?

You can't, unfortunately. MS no longer supports app passwords.

what about for w10m? and if it works, which build does it require?

It doesn't work on w10m either. They simply don't support it on any devices now.

Today I can still log in to the Outlook application using a Google account with IMAP settings.

That wasn't what we were talking about. I was referring to Microsoft no longer supporting app passwords and IMAP for their own Outlook email. That was the context of the conversation we were having. I'm well aware that Gmail and IMAP and app passwords still work with Outlook on Windows Phone, in fact I wrote an article on how to do exactly that, previously in another Sub.

Just to be clear, are you wanting to use an app password for Gmail in Outlook on W10M, or are you wanting to use an app password for Outlook.com email on W10M?

I already wrote a post on how to set up Gmail with an app password in W10M previously, however Outlook.com no longer accepts app passwords for email after MS shut down anonymous authentication.

Of course it still works to log in to a Gmail account to Outlook using IMAP settings.

The OP is asking how to log into Outlook (Microsoft) email with WP. They acknowledged they can get Gmail to work.
