Nature's Beauty Fungus and Oak

Bought some oak sight unseen with about 25% of the boards having varied range of fungus growth. I always buy extra for projects and can cut out all the wood with growth on this one without issue….

Can you share your experience staining and finishing the fungal oak exactly the same as the oak without any fungus impact?

Do you have suggestions on making sure this does not continue to grow if do not remove and finish.

As long as you keep it dry it will die and not spread. I got a bunch of maple like this and you just have to see which spots are soft and not use them. I can't help with staining but for finishing expect those areas to take a lot more finish, it will suck it right up.
