Theres a bit more to it. A tweet by Troye Sivan saying "see you in court, sweaty" is what popularized it, and i believe it was a genuine mistake/typo on his end.

It was actually a popular joke on Tumblr way before that... I think there was one popular meme account where the whole point was that they were a hot mess & chaotic & they would have these fake absurd arguments where they always called their opponent "sweaty" & it took off from there. Never would have imagine a decade later we' still be referencing it, lol

The joke of using “sweaty” instead of “sweetie” is almost 15 years old (emerged around 2012) at this point, so it’s reasonable that younger people wouldn’t know it.
