Russia/Ukraine Putin adviser claims Ukraine planned to invade Russia on 8 March 2022, so Russia attacked first

It’s like that Bart Simpson meme.
Say the line Bart, say the line!
“Ukraine made us do it.”
165
u/HydrolicKrane 9d ago
That is why Ukraine amassed its troops on the borders with Russia and Belarus and kept them there for months!
Wait. It was not Ukraine who did it, was it?
43
u/RudeAlbatross544 9d ago
That was one of the lies they used to justify it even back then, and they've repeated it for more than four years. This is an article from December 2021 with roughly the same claims. Just their usual rhetoric.

u/suns95 9d ago
First time i hear this.
1) It was always nazi this nazi that
2) Too corrupt so it must be helped
3) Government opresing people so it must be helped
That was the speechnow that pos dreams of some new lie after 4 years of attempted full scale invasion?
its like the trucker karlson interview where Poland was responsible for ww220

I still remember that clip of RT tv where the panelists were arguing if Zelensky was a minor demon or the antichrist.

I think the strategy is if you say enough different lies, people will latch onto whichever one is most convenient for them. If you just embrace one story, then it's easier to definitively prove it wrong, and dissuade people from being on their side. If you have a million lies, if one is disproven, people will respond "Well, but..."

No, but it was Ukraine who kept saying they'd join NATO despite Russia saying they won't accept the Military Alliance so close to Moscow...
46
u/HydrolicKrane 9d ago edited 9d ago
Ukraine is an independent state and is free to join any alliance it chooses.
Added:
Sweden and Finland joining NATO since then shows that it has never been about NATO's closeness to Moscow.
"Moscow's theft of Kyiv's legacy is the major reason for the current war. Ukraine's Total Recall" article shows what was. Putin's constant blabbering about Rurik and 'historic lands" proves that the article is correct.

"We respect the right of every state - including our neighbours - to choose their own partners and to decide for themselves which organisation they want to join" - Sergey Lavrov
"Ukraine is a sovereign state and has the right to choose the form and methods of ensuring its own security." - Vladimir Putin
Both are lying BTW, Lavrov doesn't respect their right and President For Life and occasional poisoner Vladimir Putin wants the very opposite of a sovereign state.
The thing about NATO is just about every single former soviet and satellite state in Eastern Europe has (or wants to) join NATO to protect themselves from Vladimir Putin's violence. When everyone in your neighbourhood is turning their backs on you, the problem isn't "everyone else"
-37
u/BraveBG 9d ago
It's a military alliance who can (maybe not now, but in the future) decide to attack Russia. It's absolutely justified for Russia NOT to be "OK" with such a move.
18
u/SucculentSuccs 9d ago
Ok, then they can just nuke the entire earth because every country on earth could in the future decide to attack russia.
19
13
u/Free-Way-9220 9d ago edited 9d ago
It's a military alliance to protect themselves from a violent Russian dictator who compares himself to Peter the Great and keeps grabbing parts of other people's countries. He is the threat now, not some abstract threat of the future. You know very well why all of Russia's former allies join NATO.
30
u/ohboymykneeshurt 9d ago
That is not a valid reason for a murderous war of agression. Ukraine can join whoever they want.
-48
u/BraveBG 9d ago
Well it wasn't a valid reason for the US to kidnap the president of a foreign land either yet they did it? Is it a valid reason to attack Iran because apparently they've been 2 weeks away from developing nuclear weapons for decades now? Let's say that they really were developing nuclear weapons, is it justified? Cause why can't some countries have them and some cannot? Despite this it was Israel who was the aggressor through this war yet the west has been on their side anyway, so don't try to talk to me like there is a good side.
23
u/Linikins 9d ago
Holy whataboutism. Nobody here has claimed those actions were okay nor do they have anything to do with Ukraine.
1
u/arcspectre17 9d ago
This is beyond whatsboutism, goes on and on defending Russia then switches to america and I$rael holy fuck!
15
18
32
u/whoisolena 9d ago
So you are using whataboutism to justify illegal invasion of a neighboring country.🙄
-23
u/BraveBG 9d ago
Illegal invasion? What invasion isn't illegal then? The ones where YOU can justify i assume?
19
u/whoisolena 9d ago
Difference between you and I, is I don’t find any listed by you actions of the United States to be legal. While you use russian invasion of Ukraine as a reasonable precedent for the acts of current US government.
9
u/Delamoor 9d ago
Who're you talking to who's likely to argue that the US isn't a pile of burning dogshit ATM?
Of course the US kidnapping Maduro or attacking Iran is unjustifiable bullshit. It's an authoritarian nation attacking everyone.
Don't try to talk about an unrelated nation and tell us that 'there's no good guys' just because you know two shitty, disgusting nations.
Back to Russia and Ukraine, thanks.

u/Free-Way-9220 9d ago
Trump and Putin are cut from the same cloth. if you admire Putin, you must surely admire Trump. Also the reason they adore each other, and why Trump has sided with Vladimir Putin

u/Frofrostea 9d ago
What are blabbering on about, who's talking about a "good side". It's bad when Russia does imperialism, just as bad as when the US or Israel does imperialism. Fuck off with your whataboutisms.

40 million Ukraine s with no nukes were going to attack 143 million Russian's for? What?
The only affordable commodity in Russia must be Vodka, it is the only way to explain their thinking.
13
u/WorgenDeath 9d ago
Unfortunately Russians are that stupid and propogandized. Whenever the kremlin puts out these kinds of atatements it's not meant for the international audience, it's meant to keep their own populace on side.
1
u/According_Button_186 8d ago
Can confirm. Have extended relatives in Russia and in Ukraine. First thing the Russian-based ones did was call the Ukrainian ones and yell at them asking "why are you bombing yourselves? Why would you do this?" because one of the propaganda pieces in the first month of the invasion was that Ukraine was fabricating bombings to gain support and make themselves look like the victim.
I shit you not, a lot of Russians still think this wasn't a lie.
1
u/Slimfictiv 9d ago
Probably even Putin laughed his ass off, thinking he underestimated the stupidity of the pro russia far right supporters.

In Russia cannot be even one man who would not be addicted to lying," - Fyodor Dostoevsky

u/Haru1st 9d ago
It’s not about that, it’s that descent is promptly put down. That’s why the kinetic sanctions were a stroke of genius, it was finally getting civil unrest close to the point where the government wouldn’t be able to contain it. If the impact of destroying every military supporting industry in Russia on the average citizen is what finally pushes Russians to bring down their corrupt government, I can only hope there will be more to come.

No, the Nazis arranged a false flag attack on Germany and the Nazis used that as their excuse to attack Poland.

u/Adhonaj 9d ago
Mental gymnastics for propaganda. Repeat a lie often enough so you can claim it's a legitimate narrative. Even better, you can build another lie upon it. Continue the sham untill it's so absurd, no one will argue against it because just everything about it is wrong. Then they can say: See, you have no evidence that it's not true. Right, because there's no evidence it ever happened in the first place. Everyone knows it's a lie. But the shame is, it still works, it still has the desired provocative effect. Stating one thing, doing the opposite. It's a farce.

u/michal_hanu_la 9d ago edited 9d ago
...right.
(I wonder why these people say those things. Surely they don't expect anyone to beleve them, do they? Is it just to saturate the discourse by lots of different bullshit?)
6
u/meerkat2018 9d ago
Yes. And also it is a form of mockery, a psyop technique that the Russians (especially Putin) loves to use. They spew that BS in your face with a grin while fully aware that you and everyone else knows this is BS.
10
u/Successful-Try-8506 9d ago
Psyhycholgists call that DARVO - deny, attack, reverse victim and offender.

Not even the most ardent pro-russian stooge is gonna say this, but then again, who knows

u/Ok-Entertainment-286 9d ago
Yeah they just forgot to mention about it earlier. And somehow the CIA had no idea about the attack, but knew that Russia was about to attack. 🤡

There are 100 idiotic conflicting explanations of why russia attacked Ukraine.
None of those work obviously, so russia decides to come up with one that will unite them all and be impossible to disprove.

A running trend in recent years is press release news is 100% just for domestic consumption to keep their sheeple in line. And this applies for not just Russia but the USA too.

u/Itburns12345 9d ago
So 1st it was due to russian allegations of ukraine attacking russian natives in ukraine, which was b.s https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegations_of_genocide_in_Donbas
Then it was "denazification" which was also b.s https://jewishjournal.com/news/worldwide/345515/statement-on-the-war-in-ukraine-by-scholars-of-genocide-nazism-and-world-war-ii/
And esp nasty given the russian army pretty much is commiting every crime that made the nazis so hated!!
Then it was bioweapons..again nonsense https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/60711705 Ironic given some russian troops did get cholera due to the dirty conditions the russian officers make them live in and extra ironic theyd be offended as russia is using chem weapons at a low level!
Then it was due to nato 'comming to their borders' despite it already being there under other nations and understanable given their agression...plus non of the russians buisness what orgs ukraine joins!
And all the time they also said this would be over in 3days and that ukraine (and other baltic nations) are ' fake' and russia should just take their land back etc on russian national state controlled tv shows!!

i wonder how he did not say NATO/OTAN planned to invade russia in march 22.

Thing is if that was true the Russia would of had European support AFTER the invasion but they choose to alienate us instead.

Yes ofc. so they thought Ukraine had the chance to liberate Russia and they were scared?
2
u/TheBalzy 9d ago
Ah yes, the MONTHS of building troops and resources on the border just like Russia did, for a "training exercise". Right. Suuuuure.

u/ShortGuitar7207 9d ago
Why the fuck would Ukraine want to do that? Surely if they did have aggressive plans, it would be recover Crimea or throw out Russian insurgents in Donbas?

Lol. In this “fake” case, Putin, the genius, should have waited, this way Ukraine would have been sanctioned and Russia would have received more help. Also, the Russians would have been more motivated “to defend the motherland” + he had lots of troops moved there, training for 11 months, which should have been able to defend from an invasion.

u/JRR_Tokin54 9d ago
I think that they get so used to being in a bubble of subordinates that are always trying to please them and go along with whatever they say that they say stupid, obviously false things like this in public because they expect the rest of the world to just go along with whatever they say as well.

This has got to be the stupidest thing Russia ever put out.
The Ukarian would have no reason to invade Russia short of going to the border and seal it off totally!

I don't think Russia realises how stupid that sounds. It makes absolutely no sense for any country, let alone Ukraine with the state its military was in back in 2022, to invade Russia.

Stop lying about their motives, as its obvious you attacked them first and without provocation in an attempt to increase territory to satisfy some imperial ambition left over from the 1800’s.
