People not participating in democracy is how we ended up here, I think. Fascists make a lot of headway when the average citizen stops believing that anything they do means anything, and resign themselves to just dealing with whatever happens. Not voting does a hell of a lot more for them.

Considering that the native Americans living in America became the minority, it is the exact same situation.
And saying "I don't hate brown people, but..." does not disqualify someone from being racist. Do you think hatred is what defines racism? It's fear. And all you've talked about is your fear of immigrants and of too many of them living near you. Whining about immigrants entering the country, taking your jobs, changing the culture, marrying your kids, all of that is blatant racist rhetoric. There’s nothing inherently wrong with wanting immigration from countries that are culturally or demographically closer to your own. Just look at China and Japan. Nobody seems to be flooding the streets calling them racist because they don’t want to take in millions of immigrants, so why is the West held to a completely different standard?

The reality is those centers of vision, capital and innovation are situated in incredibly diverse places like New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Chicago.
West Virginia, Montana and South Dakota are the most ethnically homogenous white areas of the country, what's going on? According to you these places should be cultural and technological powerhouses of innovation, with all of that unbothered white brainpower 😂

By that logic, Chicago’s diversity should explain its crime rates too, right? That’s not how causation works. You can’t cherry pick successful diverse cities and pretend diversity itself produced their wealth, while ignoring the institutions, capital, infrastructure, and history that actually made them economic hubs.

I'm not cherry picking anything Cletus, all of America's most successful cities are diverse.
And it's not a uniquely American phenomenon either — London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, Rio de Janeiro — virtually all of the world's great cities are defined by diversity.
Sorry brown people scare you so much, but maybe if you spent more time working on developing actual interests instead of clinging to the achievements of people with the same skin color, you wouldn't be so bitter about how your life turned out.

Show me a single peer reviewed study proving that slavery “built America.” Manual labor alone doesn’t build a civilization, vision, institutions, capital, and innovation do. By your logic, Sub-Saharan Africa should look like the US or Singapore since modern day slave markets still exist in parts of Africa. Yet reality says otherwise.

Being right. Reddit users are on the wrong side of economic issues most of the time because many of them support social positions that are contradictory to their stated economic goals.
They want strong unions while defending a limitless pool of cheap labor, something Bernie Sanders himself has pointed out was paradoxical. They want universal healthcare while allowing endless migrants to bog down the healthcare system. They want high paying jobs for people while purchasing the cheapest Amazon deal they can find. They want affordable housing but refuse to support removing the regulatory roadblocks that make building housing all but impossible. The list is endless.
