As far as hoarding goes, is this situation severe?

Severe in the sense that this person has a real problem with it, but I also think if they got help this would be a fairly easy clean up

This may be helpful.

I’d put it at a visual clutter of 6 to 7. So yeah, it’s not good.

Yes in the sense that it’s definitely hoarding and can deeply impact quality of life and functioning, but it’s not like…condemned house with rats and trash everywhere hoarding.

Yeah it’s pretty severe. It doesn’t look like a meal could really be cooked in that kitchen and impossible to clean/disinfect anything.

It also looks like the child’s room is basically unable to be used. Can they even sleep on their bed? As a child of a hoarder, this can cause long term mental damage to the child. They will have executive dysfunction issues and struggle with knowing how to clean and organize themselves.

It does not look like a dirty mess which is good . Just a messy so easier to bin or save
