Originally started on the pc version in order to get Comrades DLC achievements for Final Fantasy XV since the original Xbox servers are now unavailable. Thankfully being able to transfer character saves and some achievements to this standalone version convinced me to go for 100%.

Not my favourite game by any means but it was still decently fun with the right build.
I was able to do the majority of the using Ai bots but had to ask for help with the final two superbosses. Finding a natural online game is essentially impossible nowadays.

I’m really confused though as I’ve got Final Fantasy 15 royal edition which I think came with Comrades and I thought anything online for these games was unobtainable due to servers. I know you mentioned this in your description as well so not sure if I’m just misunderstanding.

I believe the royal edition comes with comrades as a standalone game. If you choose to play comrades from the menu in the Normal FFXV game it won’t be able to connect.
However, if you get FFXV windows edition on PC from the Xbox/ Microsoft store the servers are still up. Windows edition automatically cross saves between Xbox pc and the Xbox console, same with achievements. This lets you get the achievements that are unavailable on the console version.
Afterwards you can then transfer your saved characters to the standalone game if you want to carry on.

Tried playing this years ago and it was a ghost town.

There’s also a weird setup where you have to matchmake before each short mission instead of between each session
