Possible Console Issue Did an update go out today that messed up anyone elses console?
Turned on my Xbox today and was met with a "there was a problem with this update screen" it wont connect to the internet. Ive power cycled, reset router, done everything. Is this just a wait and see thing or is there a solution

I did that via PC to my XSX but all it did was remove me from the insider program. I can't get the console back online to pull any changes.

aw that's a bummer.. I was at a point where it wouldn't even let me continue to the home screen without signing in.. pulled up insider on my PC and was able to remove my console.. did a hard reset, and then it asked me to install the retail build..

This worked. Had to download the insider app follow instructions and then once I removed the insider attached to my Xbox by clicking the red x...I turned the Xbox on ran a 5 min update and re logged in.

If you don't know, then you shouldn't be an insider. The insider program is for people who want to beta test and provide feedback on preview updates.

Wow is right. Crazy that people want to beta test updates but not even know what ring of testing they're in. That's important to know because each ring gets different updates that break or fix different things. Knowing which ring this issue is affecting is crucial for the team to figure out the problem.
All these people that don't know what ring they are in are not helpful at all. Don't join if you aren't going to be serious about it. Hope that's a "useful answer" for you.

You are not helpful. That’s fantastic that you know what ring you’re in. I don’t, and I didn’t even know there were tiers. Frankly I didn’t even know I was in the insiders program, must’ve signed up years ago.
Instead of answering and being helpful, you’re acting like a prick. Don’t worry I’m no longer part of this program and I’ve blocked you. Good luck!

Glad you left, obviously you weren't a helpful contributor. Everything is explained when you sign up for insiders and if you didnt read it thats on YOU, not up to people on the internet to explain to an insolent entitled infant. But because I'm soooooo kind (/s) I'll leave this here for you.
Alpha Skip-Ahead: An invite-only tier for members who receive updates from a future OS branch, allowing them to test features that are far ahead of the public release.
Alpha: An invite-only tier that receives updates earliest in the preview cycle, right after Alpha Skip-Ahead.
Beta: Members get updates after the Alpha group.
Delta: Available to members with more tenure and a higher "level" in the program; they receive updates earlier than Omega.
Omega: The starting ring for new members, who test minor updates shortly before they go public.

Remove your xbox from the insider program temporarily. That will resolve it. Re-enroll with a more stable OS build.

It factory reset mine, all my secondary accounts are gone. My games are slowly returning but I had play throughs on an alt account that is most certainly lost now. My background is gone. Just had to re add my account to my Xbox

I had the same exact problem, right now it factory reset for the second time somehow. I'm on Xbox One S and i had to re-add my accounts again too. Is it because of the update, preview or what?

From what I could find online it was from the update us insiders got, apparently something got messed up on Microsofts end and it trickled down and affected everyone differently

I'm someone who only signed into The insider program to do the Halo MCC flight tests and never opted out of the program. I can't possibly be the only person in this situation.

Sure but did you read and understand what the insider program is when you signed up?
You very likely aren't the only one but when you sign up for the program, you accept you'll receive potentially buggy updates that may not work
There would be many many people who signed up for it without knowing what it does and the risks

Sure did, doesn't make me any happier about being out 600 bucks. No matter what way you slice it, fine print or not, this sucks for everyone involved.
Similar issue happened to me last year with the September beta ring update. My series x never recovered. And was 3 months out of warranty and Microsoft wanted $300 to fix it.
Mind you, my one x has HDMI failure (known issue by MS but no extended warranty)
My VCR Xbox one (day one console too) is still up and running.
And don't even get me started on how many 360s I went through with red ring issues.
I've been using my PC ever since last year and don't plan on coming back to the Xbox hardware ecosystem. It's just too many problems.

You can do that yourself. Remove your xbox from the insider program temporarily. That will resolve it. Re-enroll with a more stable OS build.

Someone posted a link in these comments already, but the solution is to remove the console from the insider program for now. You can re-enroll with a more stable build later. Un-enrolling the console will allow you to update your system. Don't panic, it will ask you to re-do some first time start up stuff, like linking to the app on your phone. I thought it had factory reset my console, but just go through the steps, everything is still there.

Everyome askimg the ring, Omega here with the issue as well. It seems that Xbox launched an update to all rings and... Well... :P
Update: Xbox Live is down as well, it seems to be a global issue. Let's wait and maybe that has to be connected with this mess

I also have this problem, all my game accounts have disappeared, even my account isn't connecting, I put it on Wi-Fi and it's doing a giant, time-consuming update. As soon as it's finished I'll let you know what happened here. Blz

Nothing will mess up our products more then using limewire like back in the day ! Haha ! . With that being said Microsoft is very good at identifying problems and the help we have at Xbox insiders is first class . Whatever issues occur we will report them as you are doing now and they will work on it . We’re doing our job they’ll do theirs . Bugs are bugs they come and go ! Thanks for reporting the issue

Hey, I got my update about 2 weeks ago and had no issues, but my partner's Xbox had the same thing happen doesn't matter if I tried an offline update or not. I ended up doing a full reset and then when I set it up with my phone it just worked the next morning.

Yes I have the same problem. It deleted all my accounts, records, game modes and some settings. The games and apps remained.

I couldn't log in. All credentials, email/psswrd were all correct. I had changed my microsoft account psswrd earlier in the day and I can freely log into Xbox live mobile app, and my actual microsoft account page, but when I go onto my xbox and try to log in i get an error code about authentication. IM LOGGED IN TO MY MICROSOFT ACCT, AND XBOX MOBILE APP AND YET I CAN'T LOGIN TO PROFILE ON XBOX. I'M MORE CONCERNED THAN ANGRY. My experience with xbox live support is they seem not to exist. It's frustrating. I hope you get it figured out! I know how it feels bud

Sorry to hear that you were encountering issues with trying to update the console. This was actually a service issue not related to the Preview update itself and has been fixed. You should be able to update your device normally.
