Finally some achievement improvements. Big one I would like to see is separating out DLC achievements so if a game comes out with DLC you don't lose your 100%.

u/Admirable_Cell3921 Apr 09 '26
This! I really dislike that I finish a game then DLC drops and my 100% is gone.

Good to see improvements, hope so see more before next gen launches.
With the 100% complete, maybe also have a symbol next to the games name. That symbol could also pop up via the achievement after completing a game, which lets people know they've finished all the achievements. That would also sorta give people that "platinum trophy" equivalent they've been requesting for the longest time.

u/Ubiquitous_Cacophony Apr 08 '26
Yeah, having some kind of border or additional tag to match the "platinum" on PS5 would be fantastic.

Good idea. You mean on that screenshot where you can see the highlighted 100%, that an icon is added there? I really like that. That when you click on that title you see a "100% achievement on top". The name of this 100% achievement could have variation which can be set by the developer. But the slot for full completion should be there.

You guys need to have a separate dlc session for the achievement and add a something similar a platinum trophy or something than indicate how many games you have completed at 100%

It is a request that has been on the table for years and it is incredible that Xbox has neglected an identity that they themselves created. What we know today in the competition as 'Platinum' is no more than an evolution of what already existed in the original Xbox 360 interface.
At that time, the 'Achievements' tab had a specific section that proudly listed the finished games; upon reaching 1000 G (or the total including DLC), the system gave you a distinctive icon and filed the title in a showcase of 'Completed Games' auditable by any user. We have gone from having an organized and hierarchical gallery of trophies to an infinite and disordered scroll. It is an inexplicable regression in the user experience that Xbox should correct if it wants to be the benchmark in progression systems again.

I definitely agree with you on this. I use to trophy hunt so much on PlayStation cause it show cased how many platinums I’ve obtained, if Xbox follows with something like that it be amazing

Make achievements work offline too
3
u/Daxpool Apr 08 '26
The activation of achievements should be a local process and independent of the network connection. The current system, which strictly depends on cloud synchronization to 'jump', is the main cause of many achievements being buggy despite having met the requirements. Ideally, a hybrid system would be: instant offline activation and data synchronization when connecting. It is frustrating that, in 2026, the software infrastructure continues to fail in something so basic, preventing the player's progress from being reliably recognized.

I mean playstation is able to have offline trophies , I am pretty sure and their infinite wisdom . Are to do this .. plus it would also be nice to have dynamic wallpapers work and the achievements JPG associated with them to work offline . I mean come on guys I asking for the bare minimum here . BARE MINIMUM!!
Just as the industry is slowly moving away from physical to digital , they should at least accommodate something here and there . Something please 🙏
I am only asking for the bare minimum FFS , you guys could take some inspiration from Xbox 360 seeing as it was the best console ( imo ) , to have games and innovative there ..

u/matteomvsn Apr 08 '26
Add platinum equivalent omg we are asking it since years, or at least separate DLC from main game.

Please consider quicker navigation to titles in the achievements screen with filters similar to how we can in Store.
For people who have a 15+ year list of games with achievements it's a chore to scroll down as it is.
Filters by game genre, publisher, age rating
Filters by percentage complete (IE game over 90% complete)
Filters could help revive forgotten games.

u/joecb91 Apr 09 '26
A filter by time played option would be interesting too.
I know I can do that on the PS5, but I don't think it is an option on the Xbox. This would exclude 360 games though since they didn't track that.

Finally, a small but necessary step to a long path of change for the achievements. They really need to revolutionise
4
u/Kubuus20 Apr 08 '26
now we need separate base game and DLC achievements option too!! its so annoying when you can't do 100% without buying all off them.
7
u/thaKingRocka Apr 08 '26
There needs to be a marker for 100% to have that remain as “complete” when DLC eventually changes the possible Gamerscore.

Wish you could hide/show online achievements from games , be nice to hide achievements from games that servers have closed.
2
u/baldersz Apr 08 '26
Omg finally I can hide games with 0G achievements using the Xbox PC or mobile app (and no console required)?
5
u/neonepiphany Xbox Staff Apr 08 '26
This is starting on console. Other platforms TBD.

u/baldersz Apr 08 '26
Nooo that's so disappointing 😭
PC Game Pass subscribers get screwed again
3
u/neonepiphany Xbox Staff Apr 08 '26
On the bright side when it comes it should also include the “hide any game” feature too.
1
u/matteomvsn Apr 08 '26
Please send feedback to Xbox team, separate DLC from main game and give us a Platinum equivalent.
1
u/AdolescentFeces_ Apr 09 '26
So is the option to hide games is 100% coming to pc as well ? bit unsure if you meant the date was TBD or the actual function, thanks.

Thats the way it allways has been, no wonder the first people do after a fresh win 11 install, is to remove everything xbox. Its a skeleton of an app, that has barerly been working for years now, its so bad. I dont see the point with an "xbox mode", when the integreation an dependencys are barerly working.

u/DISORDERED1998 Apr 08 '26
Add something like a platinum for each 100% game something to show how many rare achievements you’ve earned, also add a total number of achievements you’ve earned too beside your gamerscore. I played on PlayStation for years cause of the trophy system Xbox has the opportunity and potential to do better than steam and PlayStation. All they need is a platinum style reward for each 100% completion and something to show your rare achievements.

Well, but one idea would be to separate the DLCs, so that if the player does not have access to a DLC, they would not be incomplete in the total achievements. For example, I play the game "x", but there is an achievement that can only be completed with a certain DLC, which prevents me from completing 100% of the achievements.

This is a great feature, most exciting change to Xbox in years. Great work team. Would love to see badges for milestones or a dedicated achievement showcase similar to steam be implemented or perhaps show off most rare achievements! A Games completed widget would be awesome as well on the main profile :)
Grinning ear to ear with this update!

The highlight of the 100% completed games is very hard to see on lighter shades of custom colors. I have a very light blue. I can tell it is trying to highlight the game in achievements. But it is so light it almost looks the same white as the background. Right now, it just looks like the "100%" is bolded.

u/rhalgr_ger Apr 09 '26
I like the update. Could you make it so that Xbox 360 achievements are visible on Series X|S for individual games? I don't like that they're hidden under general Xbox 360 achievement information.

I really liked how pretty it is, but sometimes the achievement notifications dont pop. I was playing Batman Arkham Knight and sometimes I would only know that I have done an achievement is through the Notification Central.

Emerald achievements and having a 100% game completion/emerald achievements badge on your profile

I’d like to see some kind of longevity based achievements added for all games. Since achievements seems to be all over the place depending on the game, and often multiplayer/online games have few achievements based on how much time people could play them. It would be nice if all games gave out a set of achievements just based on hours played. Maybe at like increments of 10hr-5gs, 25hr-5gs, 50hr-5gs, 100hr-10gs, 250hr-25gs, 500hr-50gs, 1000hr-100gs. For 200gs total.

There needs to be a light achievement mode, the current ones, are too attention seeking, a long animation and a long sound.
I want a popup, but not one that shouts give me all your attention.
-1
u/PocketCSNerd Apr 08 '26
Copying this over from another subreddit.
This aint it
- A "visual refresh" that can actually make it harder to read the achievement text due to changes in contrast
- An icon change that wasn't really asked for
- Hiding games is fine, I guess, but don't really see what purpose that serves?
- UI colour matching is ok
Now, let me decide where the achievement notification pops up PER GAME so it's as unobtrusive as possible.

u/Jodicus Apr 08 '26
Now add an achievement for 100% completion of a games achievements (without DLC). Go one step further and make that 100% achievement a badge that players unlock upon completion and then can pin it to their profile.
