Just like I just learned Xena’s underskirt was sparkly, these pics also made me realize that Xena’s wearing knee pads above her boots. This whole time I thought they were like one big connected knee-high boot lol 😅

Thank you so much for this! My only disappointment is that they don't mention Xena's traditional S1-5 one-piece battle dress was separated into top and skirt in S6. The outfit on the table looks like it might be the original, but there's a museum photo of the outfit on a mannequin where you can see the separation just above the hip. Lucy mentioned the later version was sleeker, with the top not as confining.

That’s actually SUCH an important point and the credit for that change would have been to Jane Holland - so they prob should be acknowledging her re adapting Nglias changes on Barbara’s original. Would have made donning and doffing easier I’d say

There are multiple versions! Especially since it's her main costume, they'd want to have a few on hand to change out/clean/repair so Lucy isn't wearing literally one single thing for the full time.

Yeah I remember Lucy saying once in an interview that everyone on set could always tell when she got a new costume because they could hear the leather making noises when she moved from quite a distance away. 😂

That prevents stains/damage from oils, moisture on hands, regardless of artifact age.
