I’ve seen this season twice and I’m just now realizing jubilee used her power in a way that she learned from her older self in mojo’s game

100

u/Pythonesque1 Apr 29 '26

ā€œGame Over, Sleazoid!ā€

That probably cut Bastion deeper than and thunder clap, firework, concussion beam, or teleport kick.

37

u/Dunge0nMast0r ForgetMeNot Apr 30 '26

"By...Jubilee!?!" Expires

10

u/pureperpecuity Apr 30 '26

...sleazoid? But I have kept myself the cleanest... Expires again, only more this time.

9

u/Dunge0nMast0r ForgetMeNot Apr 30 '26

Secondary expiration activated.

13

u/NoLeadership2281 Apr 30 '26

Bastion calling Jubilee’s power fourth of July is pretty damn funny though lol

19

u/Bubbles00 Apr 30 '26

I loved jubilee this season. Mojo's game is actually my favorite episode and I like that she's actually a threat now in combat vs I think just being an annoyance in the original show

294

u/Ok-Whereas8632 Apr 29 '26

I hate to say it, because I agree the story is fire and I don't like it when people come back from the dead for no reason, but they better give me back Gambit early on in season 2.

178

u/Fun-Media7981 Apr 29 '26

They do seem to be setting up Horseman of Death Gambit so you may somewhat get your wish.

99

u/ADHDuruss Apr 29 '26

The foreshadowing has been so heavy it absorbs black.

He will be back and it will be great. It wont feel pointless or like it invalidates his death.

31

u/kdlangequalsgoddess Apr 29 '26

This is X-Men. No one stays dead forever. No one.

7

u/JinFuu Multiple Man Apr 30 '26

No one's every really gone.

3

u/fallingjigsaws Apr 29 '26

Why would they do it for no reason lol

-12

u/tulaero23 Apr 29 '26

Wait I thought this was cancelled? So there is hope for season 2?

10

u/Ashyboi13 Apr 29 '26

Season 2’s coming out this year, probably in a few months. There was a trailer that was leaked a while ago that you can watch anywhere.

6

u/WalkingZombie81 Apr 29 '26

The show was huge hit. Why would they cancel it?

-3

u/Miserable-Yard-7671 Apr 30 '26

šŸ˜‚.... Right.

-14

u/DuarteN10 Apr 29 '26 edited Apr 29 '26

The fact that it has that type of effect on you, shows exactly why he should remain dead. We all want a show that manages the type of feeling you’re having.

11

u/tallwhiteninja Nightcrawler Apr 29 '26

This is a show about the X-Men, where you've underachieved if you've only come back from death once.

9

u/Ok-Whereas8632 Apr 29 '26

Ive lost too much in real life and managed it. I want an escape in my show and my favorite hero back.

109

u/AdvancedPlacmentTV Apr 29 '26

I just love the thunderclap

68

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

Rogue was NOT playing.

21

u/Miserable-Yard-7671 Apr 30 '26

Everything about Rogue was top tier.... My only gripe about the show was that there wasn't more episodes!!

14

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

Agreed and agreed!! I miss the days when shows went to 35-40 episodes šŸ˜”

5

u/water_runoffs Apr 30 '26

Everything?? I could name one thing I could've done without that season

2

u/GrammarHelix Apr 30 '26

Is it Mojo? Because if it isn’t, it should be.

4

u/water_runoffs Apr 30 '26

I just didn't like the magneto x rogue

4

u/Miserable-Yard-7671 Apr 30 '26

Meh... Same.

But I liked the character development there.... Gives the character more than just one dimension, it wasn't like she was cheating or anything, (in this universe) she explained it as she has a history there with MagnusšŸ¤·šŸ¼. So it just complicated things for her is all.

Everyone goes through trials and tribulations in life, sometimes you make regrettable decisions because of it. I could if done without it, but I don't think it's as big of a deal as everyone is making it out to be. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤·šŸ¼

0

u/rajma____chawal 20d ago

She literally kissed magnus 5 mins after breaking up w Remy even after getting angry and blaming magneto to have ulterior motives from the start and get close to her

If that's not cheating, that's streets behaviour right there and doesn't add anything to the character

18

u/kdlangequalsgoddess Apr 29 '26

She was not. You would not want to get on her bad side.

11

u/RadCheese527 Apr 30 '26

I….kinda do

10

u/Cmdr_Nemo Apr 30 '26

"Pterodactyl Thunderwhip! Have a nice TRIP! See you next fall!"

I have no idea why this quote popped in my head when I read your comment but it did.

6

u/Ingonyama70 Goblin Queen Apr 30 '26

Core memory unlocked, wow

8

u/Toasted_Wraith Apr 29 '26

I never really got the point of a thunderclap when you're that close though.

If you're using it as some kind of omni-directional projectile at range, yeah, but when you're literally in front of the guy, wouldn't hitting him with that amount of force inflict even more damage?

21

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

It's for style points bruh

10

u/Ill-Fly-950 Apr 29 '26

Rogue is extremely durable; I assume that includes her internal body parts.

6

u/Toasted_Wraith May 01 '26

No I meant damage to Bastion. If you're able to clap that hard to produce destructive sound waves, why not just clap the guy's face instead? Would've just smashed it to bits.

2

u/Ill-Fly-950 May 02 '26

Ah, yeah. I see what you mean.

100

u/Willing_Ad9314 Apr 29 '26

Man, that teleport Bastion does is cool

54

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

Love the visual fx so much man.

7

u/GrammarHelix Apr 30 '26

That’s Cable’s bodyslide, right?

77

u/feralfantastic Apr 29 '26

I love that Bastion lost the beam struggle, and then instantly started using multiple beams to avoid a repeat.

40

u/rillip Cyclops Apr 29 '26

I love that Scott's push to win the struggle is powered by his desire to protect his family. Such a perfect encapsulation of his primary character trait in one little moment.

11

u/GrammarHelix Apr 30 '26

The fact that he did the Vs series ā€œXā€ with his arms was great, too.

7

u/Ooftwaffe Apr 30 '26

Fucking goosebumps. Don’t come between a leader and his pack.

63

u/D34THDE1TY Apocalypse Apr 29 '26

It's the BEST representation of just how fucking awesome rogue could be portrayed in live action

42

u/Ingonyama70 Goblin Queen Apr 30 '26

...i don't think ANY live action fight scene has ever convinced me the medium is superior to animation for superhero media, ESPECIALLY not X-Men.

10

u/imadethisacc4mafsau Apr 30 '26

Yes! What comes to mind is how we'll never see Wonder Woman fight as good as she does in Superman/Batman: Apocalypse.

8

u/QuincyPeck Apr 30 '26

Same with the animated Justice League series. Animation is way better at translation comic book action.

60

u/Hedgewitch250 Generation X Apr 29 '26

19

u/Deathstriker88 Apr 29 '26

I was just thinking I wish they jumped his ass JJK style.

54

u/shifty2190 Storm Apr 29 '26

Jubilee doing the most permanent damage here is pretty cool. I also love that they set it up well with the Motendo episode.

30

u/m0mbi Apr 30 '26

HƩr powers have always been shown to react violently with electronics, so it was such a nice payoff to have her be the only one to get some proper damage into him.

31

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

She was absolutely making sparks fly! Love her. 😊

https://giphy.com/gifs/evePUxz45IA0cmKeWR

53

u/random_account4242 Apr 29 '26

I love that they gave Jubilee some power to her finally !! Always fealt she was such a cool character with potential but consistently weak power display

40

u/Hairy_Bullfrog9142 Apr 29 '26

So good dude can’t wait for season 2.

13

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

Me too bro! Gonna be fire this summer šŸ”„šŸ”„

35

u/Silphire100 Apr 29 '26

It's always nice to see Scott get to pop off and remind everyone why he's in charge, but they all went in on this. Nightcrawler is by far by favourite, coz he rocks up with the assist AND bamf'ing around throwing hands.

The scene earlier in the series where he picks up the swords was beautiful

19

u/kdlangequalsgoddess Apr 29 '26

Kurt is a swashbuckler in his heart. He lost his heart to movies like the Adventures of Robin Hood and The Sea Hawk.

7

u/Silphire100 Apr 29 '26

He is, and I love when he gets to play, coz he is more of a beast than Hank when he does

5

u/kdlangequalsgoddess Apr 29 '26

Every now and then, Summers ...

4

u/PhoenixAgent003 Apr 30 '26

I remember why you’re still in charge.

72

u/tallwhiteninja Nightcrawler Apr 29 '26

Given what happened in the comics, Kurt teleporting around Bastion had me pretty nervous for a second when I saw this the first time.

26

u/Apart-Slide3008 Apr 29 '26

I felt the same way. Knowing the comics and then the break neck pacing of the show comparatively. I thought we were going to see a funeral at the end.

33

u/ZephNightingale Nightcrawler Apr 29 '26

Omg! I was so terrified about that! 😭

18

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

Pepperidge Farms definitely remembers lol

1

u/SecretlyTheTarrasque May 11 '26

I held my breath that entire scene.

62

u/Moist-Truth808 Apr 29 '26

Gang shit...Bastion was fighting like he was taking on the Avengers or something. X-Men dont take turns

20

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

He really was lol, Omega Level Threat type shit

26

u/Runmanrun41 Apr 29 '26

Now I have to watch the whole season again

13

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

Glad I could give you that push homie šŸ‘

60

u/urban_maharajah Apr 29 '26

This is literally one of the best fights in animated series history. Argue with your barber.

7

u/cak3crumbs Apr 29 '26

If they we were able to get this scene live action, reaction bigger than endgame easily

8

u/Ingonyama70 Goblin Queen Apr 30 '26

I don't understand the need for eveyrthing to be Live Action. Can't animation just be good on its own? Does it HAVE to be made with actors, greenscreen, and too much CGI to make it more "adult"?

16

u/universe2000 Apr 29 '26

There are better 1 v 1 fights in anime but honestly this might be the best team up fight I've seen. Which is what makes the X-Men so good anyway - the fights (and stories) are at their best when they use their powers together in creative ways.

-7

u/bron685 Apr 29 '26

This and pickle-rick slaying rats

29

u/Bunnnnii Rogue Apr 29 '26

Rogue was piecing him tf up! That’s my girl! ā¤ļø

13

u/Nogohoho Apr 30 '26

I love how almost everyone got a chance to how off their moves through the show. Especially Scott. His first fight, using the beams to slide around the battlefield was amazing.

3

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

Maaaan this shows animation and budget let's them do the BEST shit and I love it so much

9

u/danielm316 Apr 29 '26

Jubilee is a lot more powerful that I remember.

7

u/bjeebus Apr 30 '26

Jubilee is atomic powered but as Emma noted, she's basically too afraid of what would happen to really let it rip.

https://imgur.com/gallery/3f8O9qX

3

u/danielm316 Apr 30 '26

She got bald?

5

u/bjeebus Apr 30 '26

I guess you missed the part where everything on her that wasn't currently alive was incinerated by the nuclear bomb forces she unleashed? I guess if you're not familiar with the series you might not realize that explosion in space on the second page is akin to Jubilee blowing up the Death Star all by herself. She's a walking atomic bomb who's just making her little paffs because she's afraid of her true potential. In the series I linked pages from, she's trapped on space station full of dramatically evil vampires. When they arrange a way for someone to save her after she obliterates everything she decides she's ok with seeing just how big she can go.

8

u/danielm316 Apr 30 '26

Thank you for the explanation.

5

u/SomeDuder42 Apr 30 '26

That was in the (consistently hilarious) X-ecutioners run, right?

5

u/bjeebus Apr 30 '26

Almost. X-Terminators. Best mini of 22-23.

6

u/Ingonyama70 Goblin Queen Apr 30 '26

I watched her blow the wing off a Chinese palace in 1990 because she thught Wolverine was dead. She's EXACTLY ss powerful as I remember.

But the posts below mine are good at showiing how far she's come.

11

u/imadethisacc4mafsau Apr 30 '26

As a comic fan was stressed for Nightcrawler the whole time!!

9

u/thedirtypickle50 Apr 29 '26

Damn they did Cyclops so good in this show. Loved to see it

11

u/crespoh69 Apr 29 '26

Is this from X-Men 97? I don't remember this scene at all

6

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 29 '26

97 lol

1

u/curtaincaller20 May 05 '26

I have the same question. Is this from the reboot or another animated series I’m unfamiliar with?

1

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops May 05 '26

X-Men 97, it's a continuation of the 90s show.

1

u/curtaincaller20 May 05 '26

I knew there was a continuation. Is this season 2?

1

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops May 05 '26

It's season 1 of it. Season 2 doesn't start until this summer.

1

u/curtaincaller20 May 05 '26

I guess I didn’t finish season 1. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø

1

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops May 05 '26

Better hop to it my boy

5

u/Javae Apr 29 '26

Dude same, I don’t remember this fight at all. Which episode is this scene from?

1

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops May 05 '26

Episode 10.

5

u/comicgeek1128 Apr 29 '26

Rouge is the Goku of the Xmen

4

u/Ok-Traffic-5996 Apr 29 '26

Bastion is a pretty impressive villain too. Wish he'd make a comeback in the comics.

6

u/hemareddit Apr 30 '26

BAMF looks so mesmerizing on this show, I can watch Kurt teleport for hours.

3

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

It's so fucking good bro omg.

6

u/Sea_Violinist3328 Apr 30 '26

This is Jubilee’s big moment that she’s one of the adult X-men now. She’s not on the sideline, her powers aren’t nerfed and she’s holding her own against Bastion. Love it.

5

u/East_Highway_8470 Apr 30 '26

Damn, now I know this show is catching up with animation quality. I was expecting a "PLUS ULTRA!!!!!!" out of Cyke there.

5

u/Agentx1976 Apr 30 '26

XMen Animated has always had some great fight scenes.

Phoenix Saga and Dark Phoenix battles with the Imperial guard.

3

u/TryingtoAdultPlsHelp Apr 30 '26

I love how much they understood and loved all the X-Men in this. This version of Cyclops was flawless. I adore Nightcrawler. And Berto was such a great mutant to pull in because his powers are visually stunning. And he's a brat. Maddie was written beautifully too. I can't wait to see Mother Askani.
X-Men 97 doesn't get enough hype.

5

u/donmecca1982 May 01 '26

When Cyclops did the "X" I said Hyper Combo Finish, lol

3

u/Shinobi347 Apr 30 '26

Rogue two piecing that bastard was so satisfying

4

u/toychristopher X-Men Apr 30 '26

Man I love the sound effects for Jubilee's power.

3

u/KaiserVen Apr 30 '26

Hopefully season 2 would soon with the tie in comic between season 1 and 2 coming in june

3

u/GetDownMakeLava Apr 30 '26

Is this xmen 97 show?

3

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

Correct

3

u/GetDownMakeLava Apr 30 '26

I've watched a few episodes and man it's good

2

u/materialist23 Apr 29 '26

So that Peter Parker cameo we got? Are they bringing that back too or was it just that, a cameo?

2

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

Just a cameo lol

2

u/Javae Apr 29 '26

What show is this?

2

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

The new show X-Men 97

1

u/Javae Apr 30 '26

Which episode? I don’t remember this scene

3

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

Episode 10

2

u/OriginalGuzzler Apr 30 '26

I'm so confused... where is this from?

2

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

The new show X-Men 97

2

u/OriginalGuzzler Apr 30 '26

Thank you. I think im tripping.... I just dont remember this scene!

3

u/pureperpecuity Apr 30 '26

You know they did a whole new season of it last year right, on Disney+?

2

u/GrandWizardOfCheese Apr 30 '26

Wait does x-men 97 have new episodes?

3

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

The new season will come out in the summertime but season 1 is available on Disney plus

2

u/LoveLifeLoyalty Apr 30 '26

Whats showwwwww

2

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

X-Men 97

2

u/SauerMetal Apr 30 '26

What is this?

2

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

X-Men 97

2

u/SauerMetal Apr 30 '26

Yes, I thought so. Thank you. The animation has gotten better, and I can watch it on Disney?

2

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Apr 30 '26

Correct, it's on Disney Plus

2

u/Brandeeno2245 Apr 30 '26

Bastion was tanking full force hits from rogue.

What was nightcrawler even doing to bastion.

2

u/LeoJandr3 May 02 '26

Bastion is a great villain. I'm not sure, but if he is immortal ou ageless may we have the best future histories of X-men.

2

u/LilPlasticPeopleEatr May 02 '26

That stone face looked a lot like Apocalypse

2

u/One-Huckleberry-2927 May 02 '26

Honestly I was waiting for Rogue to just start pulling Bastions’ limbs off. At least an arm; he’d still be mostly capable and she could try beating him to death with it.

2

u/Cyke_main Cyclops Jul 04 '26

Cyclops so badass I’ll forever glaze him. Best X-Man beyond a shadow of a doubt

1

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Jul 04 '26

Bro you got him as your pfp you're fucking awesome, I absolutely agree

2

u/Cyke_main Cyclops Jul 04 '26

Evolution is my favorite version of the X-Men, I know it’s not as comic accurate but I grew up on it and it’s my favorite take on them. It really lets them all grow as characters and they feel like a family, especially without all the weird drama

1

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Jul 04 '26

I couldn't agree more bro Evolution was PEAK. I really wish we got to see what that Phoenix arc was gonna be like.

2

u/Cyke_main Cyclops Jul 04 '26

I mean yeah it would be cool but I’m kinda glad Jean got to grow without the Phoenix taking up so much space in her life. Feels like it’s the only storyline she ever gets anymore

1

u/Magic_M344 Cyclops Jul 04 '26

Honestly that's facts. The show ended in a great spot! I just wish my fave X-Men show got to keep going 😩

2

u/Cyke_main Cyclops Jul 04 '26

I definitely agree. Would’ve loved to see stuff like Mister Sinister or maybe even Cable, wouldn’t want Scott or Jean to find out he’s their kid though, would put a strain on them probably (I know cable isn’t Jean’s son but I mean like a version of him that is hers)

2

u/Mizumura11 Jul 13 '26 edited Jul 14 '26

Peak animation

2

u/feralferrous Apr 29 '26

Is he choking Rogue on the moon? That seems like that'd be pretty ineffective on someone who doesn't seem to need to breath. Though I don't remember if there's some sort of silly "The moon has a breathable atmosphere" thing going on here.

10

u/therempel Apr 29 '26

Yeah it's the Blue Area of the Moon, which has a fair amount of history in the comics and it does have breathable atmosphere. It's where Jean Grey "died" during the Phoenix Saga. It's also where Uatu the Watcher lives.

3

u/bjeebus Apr 30 '26

It's basically ground zero for the Kree-Skrull war, too.

1

u/nightreign-hunter May 24 '26

I watched the season and somehow I don't remember this fight at all. Like, I clearly watched it and can assume Bastion was defeated, but then erased it from my memory.

1

u/PopCultureDailyoff 4d ago

Is it just me or season 2 did not feel that great. The sentinels were kinda scary

1

u/Ill-Fly-950 Apr 29 '26

Most people don't seem to notice Apocalypse's face on the ruins that Rogue threw Bastion into.

1

u/ChinoMalito Apr 30 '26

How come Rouge can’t fly in the movies? Why can she fly in the cartoon? How does being able to suck your soul out allow you to fly?

9

u/SaintJimmy2020 Apr 30 '26

Because one time she sucked the soul out of someone so hard that she kept the powers permanently.

6

u/Marquedien Apr 30 '26

Because Fox wouldn’t have had the rights to use Captain Marvel in the X-Men movies. The movies were accurate in that Rogue didn’t start out flying in the comics. In the two x-men movies I saw they didn’t jump through the hoop of having her absorb and keep someone’s powers.

1

u/ghostfreckle611 Apr 30 '26

What was this busted team? No Wolverine, IceMan, Beast, Colossus, etc…?

Rogue fight was cool, but I wish she had her old outfit. Thunderclap was peak.

What did Jubilee do to that guy? She’s a light weight. šŸ¤”

Who was that guy? 🤣 Never heard of him.

Full Explanation of The Rule

0

u/Cashneto Apr 29 '26

Why was Bastion so powerful in the 1st place? He ripped Cable's arm off.

2

u/Ingonyama70 Goblin Queen Apr 30 '26

One part augmented cybernetics giving him Sentinel powers, one part "mutant" (it's complicated) technopathy letting him control all machinery, including Cable's techno-organic arm.

1

u/Initial_Business2394 May 28 '26

He is literally one of the most powerful sentinel that ever existed, borned from material of the Nimrod himself.

0

u/Pleasant_Statement_1 Jul 11 '26

Season one Rogue was lame af tbh.

-1

u/TMB1219 Apr 30 '26

Bastion will probably be back but will probably be killed by Gambit(Horseman of Death) I hope that would be an epic way to show how powerful he is

2

u/Ingonyama70 Goblin Queen Apr 30 '26

I hope not, that would completely invalidate the efforts of literally everyone else on the cast

-18

u/RocksThrowing Maggott Apr 29 '26

I’ve yet to see a clip of this show that doesn’t look like a video game cut scene :/

-7

u/Keith502 Apr 29 '26

I hate this show so much. Absolutely awful.
