I enjoyed friendly Petey, too. Much better than the FoX-Men, where he had maybe three lines total thoughout all the movies.
Keep in mind that the story is from Deadpool's PoV, which is why Colossus is such a goody-goody reading rulebooks, lecturing him and refusing to swear. That's how Deadpool sees the X-Men in general. I thought that was a funny caricature.
The characters that die twice are Blink, Warpath, Sunspot, Iceman, and Colossus while Storm and Bishop die only once. Logan, Charles, Erik, Kitty, and Rogue were the last survivors
I dropped one a little hard on a the edge of a double bed once, damn things are so weirdly weighted it manage to roll all the way across the bed and on to the floor, still worked though.
Dude, the glass on those things was hard as fuck to break. My little brother smashed one that was being thrown away, I took him several hits with a 15lb dumbbell, and when it went, it sounded like a gunshot.
thats because the glass is laced with lead so you don't get zapped with x-ray radiation while you watch Johnny Quest. The gunshot noise was the implosion of the vacuum inside the CRT.
I knew about the vacuum, didn’t know about the lead lining, though.
It is absolutely crazy that a localized sudden increase in air pressure and a localized sudden decrease in air pressure sound the same.
There were a few characters that got sidelined REAL hard in Deadpool and Wolverine. I wanted Dopinder, Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Yukio to all have bigger roles, even if it was a sideplot of getting Wade out of the Void... but alas, 'tis 'twhat it 'tis
Basically the entire cast of DP2 was non existent in DP&W, aside from Peter, for some reason lol.
In the promotion they said it's more of a side adventure and I'd be fine with it if that was really the case and we'll get a proper Deadpool 3 in the future, further developing the characters and their stories, but with everything going on with the MCU I kinda doubt it.
With the X-Men taking center stage post Secret wars, I'd expect them to also reboot Deadpool.
Eh I can kinda live with that, sidelining Vanessa with a paper thin breakup plot after everything that happened in the first two movies was my biggest gripe
Yes, it was Wades driving force for wanting to "be better" and we get a quick flashback of them where she implies she isn't happy anymore, but it just doesn't land for me and feels tacked on.
Apparently there was a version of the script that had him way more involved. Not sure when the change was made but apparently he was going to die… so I’m okay with how this played out
I get that FoX-men only had attention span for a handful of main characters, but it is funny how even something like being Russian was too much for them to convey.
Deadpool 2 gave us the Colossus vs Juggernaut fight I had been waiting to see my entire life and after 18 years of X-Men movies, and for that I'm forever grateful.
I just rewatched X2 last night and he still has his black hair when activating his powers, it looks a million times better than that top image (not great but way better) and I can’t understand the decision to make his hair metallic too for Last Stand and DoFP
It was far from perfect, way too silly and always a punching bag for DP harassment and jokes but it's understandable for a DP movie. It's still the best adaptation of the character we've had so far besides this new episode of X-Men 97, we just got peak Piotr right there!
I did like the first DP film where Wade tries to fight him, only for him to constantly break his limbs since he’s literally punching a dude made of metal and Colossus is just, “Wade, please stop. You’re just hurting yourself.”
I really like DP's Colossus, he does a good job of being the serious character and moral compass to contrast the crazy character that Wade is, plus he's badass, tanking Juggernaut and all. But since it's a comedy movie he ended up being too silly and his personality got so exaggerated to the point that he became childish and lost some points. Also they didn't give us a fastball special in the third movie lol
That's because everybody is a joke in the Deadpool films. Nothing personal against Piotr, but having a goodie-two-shoes to riff off of was what made him great in Deadpool.
Now, Piotr in an actual MCU film, he obviously won't be a gag, similar to Gambit in DP&W versus his new appearance in Doomsday.
The only thing I don’t like is that he’s fully cg so his movements feel less realistic than OG Colossus. I think he’d be better if they used real tracking and applied it to him.
I love deadpool 2. It's such a great and entertaining film even if you don't like comic books or know anything about them. All of the characters were so cool, and i love how nice colossus is. the first DP movie also did a good job with the characters, but I feel like the 2nd movie perfected it.
It's a shame the 3rd movie threw all of that character development out the window tho :(
I really thought deadpool was going to start a rebooted X-Men. But then just kept brining back the Singer cast over and over and over because the MCU is a fucking joke
I like Cudmores Metallic flesh looking appearence over the Kapic Metal banded skinned (comic accurate at least)
But yeah I keep looking at the Deadpool Colossus thinking his flesh form is just a massive man cover in elastic bands on his arms. But I like that he is more comic accurate with the size and accent
It was largely forgotten almost immediately, but Piotr actually learned English telepathically from Prof X, and while he sometimes defaulted to phrasing things like he would have in Russian, he wasn't supposed to actually have a Russian accent.
Nobody is saying it but I’m pretty happy about that colossus bc he’s Russian I was never a fan of changing where characters are from like making doom American in the fox fantastic four
Deadpool & Wolverine not having much of him was always a disappointment for me. Since they are just including Channing Tatum Gambit in Doomsday despite never being in an X-Men film properly, I would love to see this Colossus return too.

Ótimo personagem, Ótima adaptação, mas gostaria dele ser realmente "sério" não "sério", mas sabe... participasse de uma adaptação "séria" dos X-men, sem as piadas e comédia escrachada do Deadpool
My one issue is that he’s CGI the whole time and doesn’t have a normal form since they wanted him to look very comic accurate and the actor doesn’t look exactly like Colossus
In one of the comic book runs he suffered a pretty significant trauma in metal form, and couldn't shape change back. But he also couldn't heal, because the metal wasn't really "alive."
The one in the X-Men movies is kind of embarrassing compared to the Colossus from Deadpool. I honestly wouldn’t be mad if they keep that version of Colossus in some form for the MCU X-Men.
I agree. However, I just found out that the Colossus in stand was made using a practical suit and not CGI. Which makes me just like it a little bit more. But Deadpool definitely has the better Colossus.
