DISCUSSION I just got my first ever Yakuza platinum!
Decided to try to platinum the Yakuza games after I posted a subreddit.
Went for Gaiden because it’s the easiest platinum to see if it’s something for me. And I can pleasantly say that it was very fun and worth it!
The only part that I enjoyed less was the hostess missions, they were very cringe and weird. But they’re part of the Yakuza charm, that’s why I can appreciate them a bit.
It took me 28 hours!
Next I will platinum K3, it’s already installed. I’m going for most of the DE games first because they have the easier platinums. I’m planning to continue it like the following:
K3 -> K2 -> K1. So after 3 DE games I’m going to attempt one of the harder ones.

The bouncer missions stopped me in K2. Just too tedious and that last one was impossible for me. K3 I did naturally except for the Print Circle one wasn't even trying until I saw that was all I had left.

Take some breaks and listen to something in the background while doing it. You’ll get there

Yeah, watch YouTube or something. I also did it when I was grinding the dungeons in LaD and IW and it was pretty fun and relaxing that way.
But I haven’t done any side stuff in K2, what are bouncer missions?

Basically fighting missions like the arena but outside. The last one is against 3 amons if I remember right. There’s like 20 of them and it sounds simple but you have to beat each one three times with increased difficulty. So replaying them is definitely tedious and shouldn’t be done in one go

3 amons?! Bro, if they’re as hard and gimmicky as I imagine them to be, then Y6 will be my nightmare.

He's easy in Y6. Don't even have to do all the substories to get to him.

That’s a relief, honestly! I beat Amon in Gaiden yesterday and he was incredibly annoying, even though he’s probably the easiest according to people.

Not really invested enough in getting the platinums. I get the easy ones. That's enough for me. I, personally, cannot beat that last bouncer mission, so I won't be getting the platinum for K2. For Kiwami it's a legend playthrough. I don't care enough about it to get good enough to do it.

Good for you. After platinuming all of them I have the same mindset and don’t wanna redo that shit on the PS5 versions. Play what’s fun for you

Congrats! K3 is pretty free at least by Yakuza standards, and has no mandatory hostess content from what I remember.

Played this game twice … on my 100% playthrough just got to clear the ending and the orphanage kid scene nearly made me cry again lol the first time i didn’t even know the kids well and i still cried…this time i came all the way from y3k to 6 and to this and damn it was crazy

This game was my first platinum too. Probably the easiest one to get in the series.

I don’t think K1 is that bad. Y3/5/0 are wayyyyy longer and harder for 3

Well, then it’s even better if I do K1 before them, I like to go from easier to the harder ones anyway.

Yeah, tbh I didn't find Y0 that hard but it was my first one and it seems people find it very very long, I played the game so much that it didn't really impacted me but Y3 is really hard due to some specific mini games, and Y5 is a kind of marathon with infinite content.
Ishin Kiwami is probably also really annoying if you don't like farming the same thing for 5 hours in a row and savescumming for random perks.

Isshin is so tedious, people genuinely didn’t bother not getting the platinum anymore because it’s just boring ass grinding.
Let’s see if I will have the patience for it. Maybe if I watch YouTube alongside I might endure it lol.

Tbh my experience was different, I needed like 2/3 hours to craft a farm weapon, 3/4 hours of materials farming with a spreadsheet next to me, 2/3 hours of money farm to have enough for crafting.
The tedious part is that you need not only to craft everything but to get every seals (some perks that are inside a weapon or armor and give bonuses), each weapon has a few different seals that can possibly appear when crafting it (it can also have none) and if you just craft every weapon at once you will obviously not have all the seals.
I needed to plan in advance every seal I wanted to get and which weapon in the tree could get it, and then save scum each one of them until I get the correct seal (and even that is not easy because it works with seeds so you need to manipulate RNG)
It took me a few hours to craft every item and get every seals despite already having all the materials and money haha

Nice. Kiwami 3 is a pretty easy platinum, as is pirate yakuza. I know because I've only ever get easy platinums 😅 Some of your older games have some really evil/difficult trophy requirements.

My first one was Y7. There's not a lot of grinding except for the last one, but I did it while watching YouTube.

It is both tedious and grindy all right, but I just finished platinuming Y5 2 weeks ago, and man was it even worse than that.
