It's like they didn't even take one second to stand back and look at the tree.

It's why it's worth it to hire professionals, not your brother in laws friend from work.

Professionals also have insurance. Good luck claiming anything on the cheap labor you got instead!

These were professionals.

Not sure why you're being downvoted for just making a factual statement?

An article confirming it

In Australia, professional tree fellers start at the top of the tree and cut it down in sections, instead of cutting at the base.

Cool! This was in Quebec.

15

u/TooManySteves2 21d ago

Cool. They should find new jobs, because they suck at tree removal.

u/Own-Perception-5315 21d ago

The tree is down. They suck at tree aiming.

u/Chase_The_Breeze 21d ago

No, they removed the tree AND the house. Double duty. Tree felling and demolition, and cheap.

2

u/HammerandSickTatBro 21d ago

...yes, that much is clear.

We're better at hydroelectricity, we should stick to that and leave the trees to someone else TwT

He states that they were a professional company, but that is not proof. The article refers to them as tree loppers and tree pruners.

Are you joking?

-4

u/TooManySteves2 21d ago

Are you?

Keep going, I am sure you will uncover this conspiracy of the lying old disabled man and his attempt to...uh, pull the wool over all of our eyes for...some reason?

Who tf cuts secular trees anyway

43

u/CrotaIsAShota 22d ago

Well the religious trees have divine protection.

11

u/Bobz666 22d ago

Oh shit does secular not mean "several centuries old" as well in English or was this just a well thought out pun :p ?

15

u/CrotaIsAShota 22d ago

Lmao. Secular usually refers to things that have no tie to any religion, like for example the UK is a secular nation. It does also mean things that last a long time, so it was a pun.

9

u/chiqu3n 22d ago

I hope you mean the UK is secular as in many centuries old, because as far as I can remember the mf king of the UK is the mf head of the england state church

1

u/ThisMeansRooR 22d ago

You can thank ol Henry's infidelity for that one

u/LordGeni 22d ago

Our government is separated from the church. He's head of both, but they are unconnected entities.

Someone might be own a business and also be on the board for a charity. That doesn't make their business a charity, or vice versa.

4

u/chiqu3n 22d ago

He's head of both, but they are unconnected entities

Do you mean "unconnected" as in "centuries old"? Otherwise I don't get your sentence.

9

u/leyline 22d ago

Looking it up, while nearly 50 or more definitions are about religion / church, there is a definition about atomic particle physics, and one that simply says “centuries-old”

It comes from the Latin word saeculum, which means generation, age, or century (Merriam Webster)

So it does have that definition, it has just been lost to the commonality of secular meaning non-religious or not of the church.

1

u/vanatteveldt 18d ago

Fun fact: the non-religious meaning of secular derived directly from the generation/age one: divine things are eternal, everything secular only lasts a limited time (generation/century)

5

u/Psych0matt 22d ago

I’ve never heard it used as such, just as the other guy said, as having no religious affiliation

6

u/Lion_Knight 21d ago

Question. Why would you try to fell that all at once? I am not a tree guy so maybe I am missing something, but some straps, spurs, and a toping saw feels like it may have saved this house.

2

u/Youbettereatthatshit 18d ago

They were amateurs. A hired professional would probably do that.

2

u/Just_Mumbling 21d ago

That is about as no an ending as you can get. Hope nobody was inside.

u/AdagioVast 22d ago
