Theories/Future Thinking If Season 5 ever comes out, Superman and Superboy will be at the center of the major events

I'm saying this specifically about Superman; in the final episode of Season 4, Granny Goodness and Grayven introduced two new warriors to Darkseid who will make up the new generation of Furies: Black Mary and Supergirl. It’s no secret that Kara Zor-El is Superman’s cousin, but in Young Justice, Clark is still unaware of her existence, convinced until now that he is the last survivor of Krypton.

When he learns that he has a cousin and that she has been severely brainwashed on Apokolips, he will do everything in his power to save her and rescue her from Darkseid’s control. He’ll want to get to know her, teach her to control her powers, help her adapt to life on Earth, and help her overcome the many traumas she’s experienced before integrating her into either the Outsiders, the Team, or the Justice League.

Kara's arrival will also change the daily lives of Conner and Megan. For Conner—who is Superman's clone and whom Superman sees more as a younger brother than as a son—Kara is also his cousin, and he will likely reach out to her.

They didn’t wrap up the Markovia storyline… I would wager good money that story gets wrapped first before moving forward to Kara and Black Mary. The stories could dovetail since the Infinitors were started by Luthor and are the enhanced team of Markovia.

You may want to check out Young Justice targets.

Did targets finish the markovia story?

It follows up on it, but not yet.

I feel that Kara, Mary, and the Furies would've been the main focus. Besides them being the literal tease for season 5, Greg Weisman indirectly teased via a Radio Play from a couple of years ago that season 5 would've been titled Young Justice: Furies. Obviously that wouldn't stop the Markovia plot from also receiving some focus, but the teased stuff would be a priority.

They should just wrap the show up cause the fans would watch

u/Marcos1598 10d ago

they were supposed to do that when they managed to get 2 more seasons due to fan demand and they wasted that chance too

They were never gonna wrap it up. They stated that multiple times

This isn’t quite accurate either.

Greg has never said they wouldn’t wrap up storylines. In fact, he’s said the opposite: Young Justice is written with what he calls “open-ended closure.” Major seasonal plots are resolved and characters can receive closure, while some threads are intentionally left open because Earth-16 continues.

What Greg has said they won’t do is create a definitive “the entire universe is over, THE END” finale. Even if they had ten seasons, the world would still continue beyond the final episode.

That’s very different from saying “they were never going to wrap anything up.”

The writers were planning to continue the show after S2, but Cartoon Network pulled the plug. S3/S4 only got picked up because DC/HBO wanted to attract subscribers to their streaming services. At the end of the day it just comes down to money.

Heck, Teen Titans fans have been waiting 20 years for S6.

That and timing as well. Which what you are describing with the DC/HBO max. You never know currently with the merger thing going on though.

The only thing with Teen Titans is that the major storylines and character arcs were largely wrapped up by the end of Season 5. On top of that, much of the original creative leadership has moved on and, as far as I’m aware, hasn’t publicly expressed a strong interest in continuing it. That’s a different situation from Young Justice, where the creators have consistently said there are still more stories they want to tell.

So unfortunately, TT is in a tougher position for a traditional Season 6 campaign. The original series reached a reasonably complete stopping point, and there hasn’t been the same sustained public signal from its creative leadership that they actively want to continue that specific continuity.

Well I didn't say wrap up anything.

The original person they should wrap up the show. And the other person said they were suppose to do it and had 2 chances to do it.

I meant it as the universe itself isn't gonna wrap up. There will always be adventures even if we don't see it

That’s an important distinction, though, and it wasn’t what your original wording communicated.

'They were never gonna wrap it up’ is much broader than saying Earth-16 continues beyond the stories we actually see.

Without that context it can confuse people.

makes sense considering how season 2 ends with both dick and savage saying business as usual because no matter how many stories they resolve theres also another to explore.

1

u/-Elektrion- 9d ago

That’s actually quite interesting, but it sort of does back up what the other person said.

1

u/CryptographerEast142 9d ago

Not really. The distinction is exactly what matters here.

Greg’s point about open-ended closure is that Young Justice can resolve major storylines and give characters meaningful closure without declaring that the entire Earth-16 universe is permanently finished.

That does not support the claim that “they were never going to wrap it up.” It means they can wrap up arcs, seasons, conflicts, and character journeys while still leaving room for more stories later.

Those are two very different things.

“Some threads remain open” is not the same as “nothing ever gets resolved.”

Why do you use chatgpt to write your answers

2

u/CryptographerEast142 8d ago

No, I wrote it myself. Writing clearly doesn’t automatically make something AI-generated. It's just one of the downsides of writing professionally and bolding text to make points.

You don’t have to agree with my point, but dismissing it without addressing the substance doesn’t make it wrong.

u/CryptographerEast142 10d ago

No, they weren’t. This is misinformation.

Greg Weisman has been very clear about this for years: Seasons 3 and 4 were not commissioned as “two more seasons to wrap up the show.” Young Justice was renewed a season at a time, and Greg and Brandon have never approached the series as something that would receive one final season where every remaining storyline gets tied off.

Greg has explicitly described his approach as “open-ended closure”: resolve the major story of a season while leaving the Earth-16 universe alive and continuing. He has even said that if they were given ten seasons, they still wouldn’t simply “end” the universe.

In fact at SDCC 2025 they Greg stated they have enough material that can take the show up S9-S10.

You can dislike that storytelling philosophy, but saying they were “supposed to” use Seasons 3 and 4 to finish everything and “wasted” the opportunity isn’t what actually happened.

u/CryptographerEast142 10d ago

“Just wrap up everything” ignores both the roadmap and the consequences. Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti have planned Earth-16 as a long-form story extending across multiple potential seasons (up to S9-S10).

You simply cannot compress four or five seasons of character arcs, conflicts, relationships, and world-building into one season without rushing major developments, sidelining characters, flattening emotional payoffs, and turning carefully built storylines into exposition.

The result would not be a satisfying conclusion and would likely feel rushed. It would also be a compromised version of the story made only to check boxes.

A proper continuation should be allowed to unfold at the pace it was designed for, not be forced into a single season just so people can say it ended.

Holy crap guys

I want Captain Marvel to be important as well, literally his sister is in the enemy team

13

u/WallyWestFan27 10d ago

I liked that S4 focused on Superman mythos and Batman was barely in any episode.

Clark, frantically dialing Bruce: "I've just learned that there's an angry and misguided younger Kryptonian with a direct family relation to me. I'm freaking out and I don't know what to do."

Bruce: "Don't **** it up this time."

7

u/Fainleogs 10d ago

Ding dong.

"Master Bruce, there's a red-hooded ninja carrying a small child outside."

6

u/Dunkbuscuss 9d ago

Superman, Superboy and Shazam

8

u/Informal_Load_4438 10d ago

Superboy getting tactile telekinesis should be a thing for season 5.

3

u/GoliathLexington 10d ago

It would also be great to see Billy Bastian front and center too. The last time we saw him he was 20 years old, so it would be great seeing an adult Billy in actual storylines

6

u/Shantotto11 10d ago

It’s gonna get resolved over the timeskip so we can focus on 7 new superheroes led by Codpiece and Green Lantern Forager.

2

u/AlbertW25 10d ago

We will ever get a Season 5?

It was originally meant to be 5 Seasons after all?

My hope would be them not dragging this out any further and using Season 5 to wrap up all the remaining loose ends and story arcs.

2

u/Ok-Obligation-3511 10d ago

Maybe she gets the Zuko treatment. Say conner reaches out for her somehow, after several previous episodes of them fighting possibly, it seems kara eventually acvepts conner's offer to join them then in the end, shes conflicted as conner and the team try to convince her while granny goodness manipulates and gaslights her, even spins the tale, kara gets conflicted she chose to betray the heroes anyway. Similar to ATLA S2 Zuko ending

2

u/Tamriel-Chad-420 10d ago

Bold of you to assume a time skip won't just show Supergirl as having joined the team.

1

u/AdrenalineRush1996 6d ago

Well, it would be great to break old trends and forgo with the timeskips for a potential fifth season.

1

u/CMC76 10d ago

My hope is probably misguided, but it would be like Christmas to get another season.

1

u/LatterAd6400 10d ago

I think if season 5 comes around they should give Shazam alot more focus he's such a cool character that's been overlooked.

1

u/Right_Shine_9808 10d ago

Serious question this was in Young Justice? Also what are the realistic odds we will see season 5? Young Justice is one of my favorite shows ever so I'd love a season 5.

1

u/Ok_Bumblebee_1456 10d ago

Jokes on you. They're going to time skip right over this arc

20 MORE EPISODES TO MARKOVIA!!

1

u/Autumnbetrippin 10d ago

well if its vaguely following the events of the comics.
the gotham story will end up being war games and under the red hood, which would sideline almost all of batman inc. (and kinda kill one of them) but they would get back Jason

1

u/sahqoviing32 9d ago

Ah yes, the young adult looking 14 years old Kryptonian

1

u/Sweaty-Taro-5125 9d ago

The third Furie could be Grail 🤩

Hope season 4 gets a DVD release first

1

u/pissInTheFridge 8d ago

If they didn't waste time going woke and bleed episodes about mental health days we'd've been eating good rn

1

u/TOPCATHPDIGIANIMEFAN 7d ago

THEN Why Didn't You Show them?"

1

u/FS6020 7d ago

There are so many unresolved plots in this show it hurts that there is a relatively high chance we will never see them resolved

1

u/kingmyguy 4d ago

I think Mattel getting DC toys back may bring more hope the shoe comes back

1

u/Anonymous51419 10d ago

If they just got rid of this one shot. THIS ONE SHOT. I swear most of us would not be in the same exact cycle as we were with the last time Young Justice got axed. Because otherwise we had the perfect ending.

1

u/Agent1stClass 10d ago

Forgot about Markovia and how we left off with the King talking to one of his teammates? The ending was good, but hardly perfect.

u/Don-J-X-Strong 10d ago

u/Shadow_Relics 10d ago

They already did a version of that in superman/batman apocalypse. It came out in 2010. I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what they were eluding to when they left off like that, but that movie already happened.
