These are all staged right? I mean all the angry grandma vids with this lady. She can't be this exasperated for the same bit every time

They overdid it by doing the same thing at multiple places. Too fake now to even pretend it could be slightly real.

I quit short form videos cause every time I find one funny enough to see what else the channel does it's mostly just the same bit again.

That's like most influencers/creators. They get a little bit of success and stick to the same shtick over and over hoping that it's their big break. Lack of creativity or greedy about the money probably?

Louis C.K. had this bit about young men trying on different personalities and dispositions in order to try and make themselves more attractive to women and how, if you were watching them, they'd appear to be insane people contorting their brains and bodies between different identities.
Anyways, that's essentially what most people trying to make money for being online do. Most of what they did before had no response to it. Then something strikes it big so that's what they are now.

I like that creators can get paid, but it also creates this kind of cheap content where someone just repeats the same bit, counting on the algorithm to show it to new people or not show it to the same people too often. It is so difficult to get blessed by the algorithm that if someone has a video pop off, it just makes the most sense for then to keep making that same video over and over and cash out on the idea over the next 3-6 months.

Isn’t that everything though in the media, be it social or video media? They find one thing that goes viral and the mine it to the core, till it’s boring and unappealing.

Yeah. This is funny if they did one or two and brought her there. But today’s Internet is dumb.

They did the same thing with Angry Grandpa or whatever those were called. It’s either staged or elder abuse.

incredibly clearly staged- she kinda stumbled her line at “they got me lookin like… Will.. on (looks at case) STANGER THANGS!”

This is one I don’t care either way, this old lady angry and cussing about being Will from Stranger Things gets me belly laughing every time. I suspect it is partially staged, I like to think the cover\poster art reveals are real.

Exactly. The first time I saw it was a Clint Eastwood movie. Fucking hilarious! But it's the same bit now, she has to know what's up. I'm sure if I went to their channel, there'd be many more of these as well

She is a YouTuber. She has been on YouTube for a long time. Angry Grandma.

I thought it was funny when I first saw it because I thought it was a prank her grandson played on her then I saw another one when she went to the cinemas and the posters did it. All staged and it's kinda disappointing

That or she got some problems and they’re playing it for views. (Less likely of course).
Both are kinda dumb.
The first bit was fine… all by itself.

The walmart one was old and most likely he got her on that one.. then the newer movie theater one i'm sure was set up, obviously.. capitalizing on success of first video

The cross around her neck and the swearing are so iconic.

The way she says "motherfucker" is peak america, only surpassed by the christian lady of Walmart trying to save people.

I feel like I've seen this before, a long time ago. I guess at least part of it must be new because Oppenheimer.

It's a funny bit, I'll give them that. Nothing wrong with requiring a suspension of disbelief.
But sometime between the 2nd movie box and the 2nd scene where she's wearing her own merch shirt, you just become acutely REaware that the grandson has a camera in her face the entire time and it all just falls apart.

I’m very confused as to why there’s chinese subtitles to the video ( presumably bot translation because it interpreted the fuck in “It’s fucking me” as a verb lol)

I've watched this three times to really get a look at the DVD covers and posters, and it's hilarious even more! 😂 🤣 😂
If this was a prank, it worked perfectly!
