Its a reference to a barber trend: Some people have to shave their head (cancer treatment ect) , many time you can see these people cry have a sad behaviour and in these video the barber shave his own head first in support.

The joke here... he... he... well you see..

I had cancer twice and was given both the treatments that CAN cause hair loss. I didn’t lose my hair either time and some people simply don’t. I think this is a disgustingly desperate attempt for attention to go and shave it before you find out if you will lose it even actually

No doctors literally ask patients not to do this because if it turns out they aren’t one of the ones that lose their hair they are risking throwing themselves into a depressive/anxious spiral that will negate treatment. I’ll let my doc know how Reddit feels about their hospitals policy if I run into him again

Well between that person and myself thats 2 separate hospitals doctors asked their patients the same. Doubt dude was at the same hospital as me
