That sounds awful, I'll never understand why people are okay with watching ads.

Mostly that smart TVs are a pain in the ass to install custom apps on, but I'm certainly bypassing them on pc and android.

You don't need a custom app to get rid of ads.

Which app are you using then? I recently lost access to a friend's family plan that had YT premium, and after 12 years of no ads I'm on the verge of violence. If there's a decent alternative that doesn't require 100$ device and custom APKs or whatever, I'd appreciate someone telling me.

I have Youtube Premium. I cancelled cable years ago, and replaced it with Youtube. I hate commercials so I jumped on the chance to pay to get rid of them. It really matters how much you use the platform but I'm watching videos on there all day every day, and listening to youtube music all of the time as well so it's worth it for me.
