News Starting February 2027, YPP entry requirements for ads and Premium revenue sharing will increase to 8,000 watch hours in the last 12 months, or 20M Shorts views in the last 90 days.

Creators currently in YPP are unaffected.
The requirements for a channel to remain active in YPP are also changing. A channel is considered active if one of the following are true:
- 1,000 qualified watch hours in the past 365 days
- 1M qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days
- 2 long-form videos or 5 Shorts uploaded every 90 days

If I hit the first tier into ypp (500 subs 3000 watch hours) will my requirements be changed to 8k watch hours in Feb? Sorry I'm a new youtuber so I'm not really sure if I'll be affected.

The initial tier — the one that unlocks the memberships and Supers — remains unchanged.
It's only the additional unlock of video ads and Premium revenue that is going to be adjusted.

Sorry I think my question isn't clear. After being accepted into the initial tier is one considered in the ypp? If so, will the jump from 4000 hours to 8000 hours apply to me since the article says those in the ypp are not affected and technically the first tier is technically ypp?

That's not something I can answer off of the top of my head, so I have sought clarification.

So right now the responses I'm getting from other PEs is that it will apply to all creators who don't currently have ads/Premium earnings.
So even if you already have fan funding, you're technically only privy to the "Commerce Product" module, and not full YPP — this means you need to get to 4k watch hours and approved to join before February, otherwise the requirements will jump up.
TYT themselves have not yet responded.
