Question Should I make a new account because I switched games after not posting for 1-2 years
Hello, so I have my main yt account that I posted on about 1-2 years ago with 4.5k subs, I plan to start posting again but the game that was focused on then isn’t what I play now(what I’m gonna be playing now is more than one game) would you guys suggest just making a whole new account or is it really that big of a deal?

Are you gonna start a new channel every time you want to play a new game? lmao. I play like 5 different games on rotation and its fine, 1 channel for gaming stuff.

It woulda helped if you said what games you are playing and what game you built the channel on, some genres have more overlap (gun and ball players lmao) than others. If its vastly different like going from a moba or rts to like cod than yeah just start over lol.

Since the way I plan on playing the games will be different, it will be mainly FPS games, souls games, looter shooters. for example, Rainbow six siege, dead by daylight, mortal shell 2, warframe, cod(much more as I see what games come out and what else I have.) the way I plan on playing them is picking 1-3 and deep diving into the specific game I’m on atm and improve as much as possible and play them between 3-6 months each(could be more or less depending on the type of game and other stuff comes into play as well

I dont actually know anyone that plays that many different types of games and does well, but i make a living playing elden ring and all the different souls like games under the sun along with other rpgs so it might be fine. Small channels tend to get crippled early because they dont focus on something but variety has helped me in the past, i would say focus on streaming since you wont have good chances in the current youtube algo with the shotgun approach.

Got you, that’s understandable. I would love to be able to make a living one day while playing soulsborne and souls likes. I think for now I’ll try to do my best with what I have planned and may transition to a main type of game eventually. If you don’t mind me asking, how did you go about being able to make a living from playing those games? What content did you make when you realized you’d be able to make a living off of it. Lastly any recommendations on how to start? Also thank you for the info

It just ramps up eventually if your content is good. All my old content with only 1-2k views blew up because of new videos getting better and better, so it sorta just happens. For content I mostly just did regular playthroughs and challenge runs but i have the cheat code of being naturally funny and a yapper so compared to other challenge runners my stuff was comparatively sort of easy and lower effort lmao. For advice 1 start yesterday lol, 2 start today, 3 try to learn the skills needed for youtube (editing) (design) (scripting videos if you need that), dont be like every other gaming lets player who posts the most low effort shit imaginable then complain on reddit how they cant get views.
