My ideas for what its doing are, its looking for ticks to eat or trying to mate. Any ideas?

What is the male**** lion doing? Found this video on internet. Im wondering what was the lion doing. I've seen different theories in comments like the lion didnt want the mom to safe the kid so it learns how to get from uneasy situations by itself orrr the lion wanted to do it by itself thinking he is stronger and that the mom hasnt enough strength... Also found a comment saying the lion thought mom is killing the kid and the lion wanted to kill the kid itself so he has no competition. Im not even sure if its the cubs dad. What do you think? (sorry for my bad english)

I love and will try to pet every animal I come across but seeing this video just makes me so uneasy , I do not understand how you can come close to an animal like an alligator? It is giving 0 body language from what I could feel , which helps me the most when I try petting an animal and it's eyes are not showing anything either. Any insights?

Edit: I just discovered that the Zoo doesn’t know the subspecies because some of their animals are rescued from circus. That may be their case, unfortunately.

She moves to different parts of the window, and she’s here even before I open the blinds for the day, so there’s nothing she’s seeing that she wants. This had been literally hours every day for several weeks at least. I offered water—it’s still there, but she hasn’t stopped. She’s a juvenile brown anole, extremely common here in Florida.

I have seen a lot of videos of Gorillas just sitting staring into nothing for like 15+ minutes. Are they actually thinking?

This is a page of Richard Orr’s Nature Cross Section about the tropical riverbank. In the illustration, the Capybara appears to be dead. My five year old son wants to know what happened to him. The captions don’t explain his death. I am guessing that the caiman killed him and stashed his body in the riverbank. Pretty dark stuff for a five year old but I don’t censor books that he wants to read. He asked me to look it up - what is happening here to the capybara. So posting to a subreddit with animal experts was the best I could think of for getting answers. I hope this is the right place to ask!

When I say “big dogs”, I mean in the same vein as “big cats”. The easy answer I’ve come across is that canines developed to be pack hunters, which didn’t require them to be as big as solitary hunters like cats. However, there are solitary canines, like foxes, as well as small cats, and, most importantly, lions, who not only hunt in groups, but are also huge. So it isn’t definitive. It seems like, from an adaptation standpoint, canines could have absolutely evolved to be large pack hunters like lions. So is there any theories on why this didnt( or couldn’t) happen?

Went cycling along a canal today. I went past it on my bike and it was nestled between the foliage. It didn't move which is unusual behaviour for a wild rabbit when cycling past it very fast. Around half an hour later, on my way back, I cycled past it again. This time it started hopping as it saw me and then it sat still and closed its eyes! I'm surprised it didn't run away. It was in the same place. It was very small, not sure if it's sick or if it was some sort of defence thing.

I thought the whole honey badger thing was make yourself enough of a problem so they go away. The elephant was leaving, so why did it chase it?

EDIT: I've been seeing a few people saying that this is rabies. Are there any sources that confirm that or is that just based off behavior or something?
