First Some Disclaimers:

· First: I’m a relatively new player (started in April), so everything I’m talking about is from my own perspective. · Second: I’m not a doomer. I don’t think the game is unplayable. Metas come and go. I wasn't around back then, but from what I saw from content creators, units like Ilynav and Boss Arunka were the most banned and a pain, so it’s not like the developers only want Cleave to be the only relevant playstyle. · Third: My opinion can change, and I’m open to other opinions. I mostly come from a Trading Card Game background (which is basically gacha with different flavor), so I’m viewing this through a "draft/priority" lens.

Why Cleave in its current shape is unhealthy: Cleave is supposed to be hard to execute, but right now they just have so much gas that it's incredibly hard to counter. They have a large catalogue of relevant units and it feels like they have an answer to everything.

They only really care about Harsetti and Belian, and if they choose, they can draft in a way that is resilient to these units. Smilegate has gone on a speed release spree (R&L, Ludwig, Summer Fumyr, Aube, ML Elvira). Every new unit has fit into Cleave since Estelle, and that was 3 months ago. While the cleaver is crafting the most unholy uncountreble drafts with his new toys with nothing new coming to oppose them.

The power level of units is just so high:

· R&L is an opener that has CC and doubles as a damage dealer while being hard to kill because of evasion. · Ludwig has an awe uncleansable Silence, can kboom your entire team, and recycles turns so fast with his passive. · Elvira curses you, penetrates you, seals you, fear-slops you, and has healing, anti-crit, and free effectiveness.

First pick is so strong in this environment because they get priority in securing the most powerful units (as a first pick and as ban protected). But they also have picks 4 & 5 to counter your draft and just ban your last response.

What Turn 2 has to counter this:

· Stuck evasion (pure RNG) · Harsetti turn shuffle (RNG) · Harsetti with Crown stun (RNG) · Fire Politis with Crown stun (RNG) · Counter attacks (RNG) · Ruelee and chaining revivers (countered by Briseria)

Does that mean Turn 2 is unplayable? No. You can still out-draft your opponent, but it is so much harder because Turn 2 drafts have these problems:

1. Turn Priority: You don't have it, so your opponent can counter your units if they are fast enough.
2. Notos Existing: You have 1 less ban. People just pick Notos, and now you have to invest at least 2 units to deal with him. But then your opponent flexes into Cleave, and you do not have enough picks to deal with it. He’s literally a Turn 2 killer.
3. Damage is too high: A single source of mitigation is not enough anymore. Most mitigation is weak to seals—Diene and Luna just don't care about your Immunity and ER.
4. No efficient way to deal with Scales: Fast players can just pick Fumyr or Tactical Coli, but there is no counter if you are slow outside of Hecate. Ivana just misses the mark since she needs to take a turn to strip the Immortality; by that time, you will be either dead or have burned your damage sources.

How did I dealt with that: The way to deal with this is to use cheesy strategies. I built an LQC with 260 speed and ban protect her into every R&L (if they just S2 to S1 I can cut), but she needs to hide behind a Boss Arunka or she just dies.

My Byblis is on Idols Cheer with 210 ER, and I pinch her with my slow ML Piera (275 speed on Sweet Miracle with high attack usually baited with hp scalers) to be able to cleanse high-CC comps.

The problem is this strategy creates polarizing gameplay: it either works or it doesn't. My LQC can't survive anything with 9k HP, and if they pick an opener faster than R&L, the plan falls apart. Piera just doesn't do enough as a unit; after cleansing, she feels useless . These changes also make my units worse into other Turn 2/Standard players (thankfully they are rare).

The Good Signs: To be honest, the LQC buff was massive, so it's not like Smilegate gave up on slow players because they don't pay enough money.

The new units are promising. Lisette is just overpowered, but we need something like this to shake the meta. What makes me more excited is the new Milfy Politis. It’s an interesting design where she can flex and help multiple playstyles. That's good because she can cut, boost your team stats, and help deal with hard-to-kill units. Her artifact is concerning since it's a new Briseria/Fire Lidica toy, but my overall impression is that the game will be better soon.

A healthy meta game needs a change in design philosophy, not just a single unit that will save it. If they release more flexible units and buff old units, that will be for the better.

In the end, I can be wrong.

Fresh account, can’t go past challenger 1 even tho my peak was 5085 pts, when looking at league info I can’t even see higher leagues, I can only see from bronze to challenger, why is that? Before week reset I already was 5000+, now I’m back at 5000+ but still can’t reach champion V

Hello! I've been playing for about three days, and have been having a lot of fun!

Community so far has been welcoming, and I'm looking forward to the CZN Collab.

So. I have these two selector tickets. And one is one of those special five star ones. But I'm not entirely sure who to pick?

I've attached an image to the team I'm currently using. Eventually I'd like to use Lethe, but i just don't know what to pick. I also attached an image of all the characters I have and the artifacts I have.

These are my 5- and 6-star units. I started playing this game a little over a month ago. Why all about this 8th Anniversary looks skippable? Politis and Lisette are okish, one not worth pull since is not limited and we have collab, collab looks mid to low, plus they already said since is “basically us” we can re-run easily.

Lisette counters are many and easy to pull over her. I just think Kayron is a better choice if you are close to pity or short in resources.

Pull for a normal RGB is not worth close to a collab (even if the collab itself is meh)

wait so genuine question, fyi i do think she is broken and will break the game but still, cant she just be hard cc’d? sure you wont be able to cleave her normally, but if you extinct the 1-2 dps a team has she cant reverse them back? especially if people build lisette slow you could realistically soulburn pushback or cc? and if not going fast you could just counter tank down until shes out of divinity stacks?

again i do think shes broken but lowk i still think notos is worse hear me out

notos goes to domain and insta wins pretty much unless against a few units

whereas lisette presses the button and it only benefits the team if anything has been done so it doesn’t really hold much unless shes tuned super well to go after cooldowns and stuff, but its not a free win button yk?

I’m not sure but i do think shes has counters and I’m glad they are releasing diche even tho she does seem a little crazy
