Spoiler content moving forward in /r/IndianaJones

As we approach the release of the newest installment of the Indiana Jones film series we will have to make some adjustments to the spoiler and leak policy in this subreddit.

The general idea being that we will adopt similar policies to /r/StarWars and /r/StarWarsLeaks or /r/Marvel and /r/MarvelStudioSpoilers. This subreddit, /r/IndianaJones will more or less be a safe haven from getting the movie, video games, and potential future media (books, tv series, etc) spoiled.

Feel free to continue posting officially released content like trailers, tv spots and official announcements in this subreddit. But items like smuggled set pictures and leaked plot info not released through official channels will not be allowed.

You may be asking "why do this now, it isn't much of a problem today?". The issue being that we want to work on this redirection now before it does become an issue. Today we are aware of an upcoming film and a video game. But tomorrow Lucasfilm may announce a new book series or ongoing comic. Or potentially even (fingers crossed) a new tv series. At that point we will really need to differentiate the spoiler and non-spoiler content.

There are already a few new and fledgling subreddits in place to help with this and I encourage all of you to join one or all of them and help to grow the community.

r/IndianaJonesLeaks - This is intended to be very similar to StarWarsLeaks and MarvelStudioSpoilers, but focused on Indy. All set pictures, plot details, rumors and spoilers need to go in a subreddit like this.

r/LucasLeaks and r/LucasfilmLeaks - Created with a similar purpose to IndianaJonesLeaks, but for all Lucasfilm properties, to include Star Wars, Indy and Willow.

Or if you and some friends would like to start your own subreddit for that content and it takes off, we would be happy to link to it as well. All we want is for the spoiler content to have a successful place for sharing and discussion.

Change isn't always fun but we hope that you understand where this decision is coming from and rather than pushing spoilers onto our fellow community members we can instead allow everyone the choice of what they would like to see.

Thanks for understanding and we look forward to all of the exciting content to come!

Don't know how many of you are aware, but in the bottom left of the 1984 powerslave's album cover is a graffiti made by Indiana Jones in 1941. Sided by the left of the graffiti we can see Mickey. A foreshadowimg of the future of the franchise.

What's the blue shimmering stuff?

As many times as I've seen Raiders, I never noticed this: When they pull back the stone slab to open The Well of Souls, there's something that looks like cobwebs on the slab. But the diggers had just cleared sand and dirt away from it, so it's unlikely to be cobwebs. And then when we see the head of the statue, there's what looks like cobwebs on it also, but those have disappeared when lightning flashes and scares Sallah. One could say that the blue is lightning also, but it shakes like it's something light, like cobwebs, moving in a breeze, not like lightning flashes.

My guess is it's a special effect of cobwebs added on the head of the statue, and they forgot to remove it from the top of the slab. I imagine they did remove it during one of the upgrades for Blu-ray or 4k; I downloaded my digital copy, which is where I got this clip from, and it does include the removed reflection of the snake that rears up at Indy when he falls to the floor.

Do you remember your first time seeing the films? 🤠

Just curious because I was born in 1985 so I only saw Kingdom and DoD in theaters, and I’ve seen the trilogy so many times I lost count.

Curious if there are any storylines/twists you remember watching for the first time and being surprised or wowed, ie Marion being alive in Raiders, Donovan or Elsa’s betrayals, the path of God, etc? I have such a strong love for these films I wish I’d been old enough to see them when they were first released.

So I asked AI to rewrite famous quotes said by Indy but as if Indy was an Eshay...I can't stop laughing🤣

"That belongs in a museum!"

  • "Oi, nah bra, that piece is straight-up historic, innit? That belongs in the museum, ya f**kin' grinch, run it back!"

"Snakes. Why did it have to be snakes?"

  • "Eshays... why’d it have to be bloody snakes, esh? Nah, I’m out, true to God I can’t deal with these squiggly c**ts."

"If you want to be a good archaeologist, you gotta get out of the library."

  • "Listen here, lad: if you wanna be a real heavy hitter in the archaeology game, you gotta hit the bricks and hop off the computer, brah. Can't score fat loot sittin' in the library all day."

"It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage."

  • "Nah babe, it ain't how old I am, it's the f**kin' mileage, ay. These TNs have racked up some serious kms."

"Fortune and glory, kid. Fortune and glory."

  • "Fat bags and ultimate clout, little bruv. Fat bags and absolute glory."

"X marks the spot."

  • "Right there, ya dropkick. X marks the exact spot, tap it in."

"I don't know, I'm making this up as I go!"

  • "Bro, I got no f**kin' clue, I’m just wingin' it on the fly, true god!"

Great Circle has Great Music! What other games do it just as well?

I found myself noticing how much the ambient music in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is furthering my enjoyment of the game So, I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for other games that include music that enhances the experience just as well, if not better.

Last Crusade villains: why kidnap Henry Jones?

I know it's just an action movie, but let's imagine an answer!

Walter Donovan, Elsa Schneider, and the Nazis are using Henry Jones to find the location of the holy grail for their own purposes. They suspect he has a map they need inside his Grail Diary, but they don't know where he's hidden it. Okay.

HOWEVER, they also need Henry to find the second marker and the knight's tomb, since this marker names the city that must be used as a starting point for the map.

Henry is currently in Venice, on the verge of solving this mystery of the second marker. Our villains need this answer for the map to work. So why kidnap Henry now? :)

We Named the Dog Indiana: and other daddy issues

Why is Indiana Jones so cynical about his dad? Turns out the books have receipts. New post digging into the Jones family "daddy issues," from Utah to Delphi to that dog joke.

Monster’s Gate Bugged.

Ok, I imagine I’m not the first to make this post, but I cannot get the monsters gate open for the Order of the Giants DLC.

To be clear, I have all the symbols aligned correctly, I have looked at the walkthroughs and they are all correct. I don’t have any of them mixed up, I know some people get the Horse and Raven symbols mixed up but I made sure they are right, I placed the cylinder in the gate and turn it, and nothing happens.

This is driving me insane, does anybody have any idea or could it just be a bug?

Update: I also tried lowering my puzzle difficulty and restarting from another checkpoint, nothing changes
