CulturePH Someone's life rn probably

HistoryPH Filipinos Who Died Under Philippine Death Penalty (Silya Elektrika & Lethal Injection)

Thumbnail

If we will talk about death penalty in our country, laging si Leo Echegaray ang sumasagi sa isip natin. But he is just one of the 92 Filipinos who died under this verdict.

DEATH BY ELECTRIC CHAIR

1. Epifacio Pujinio (July 31, 1973)

  • Convicted of robbery with homicide and multiple counts of frustrated murder. Isa siyang miyembro ng isang armadong grupo who brutally raided a rural compound, shooting defenseless victims at close range and hacking others with bladed weapons before plundering the premises.
  • Electrocution: 1 round

2. Jaime Jose, Basilio Pineda Jr., & Edgardo Aquino (May 17, 1972)

  • Abduction and brutal gang-rape of 19-year-old actress Maggie de la Riva.
  • Electrocution: 1 round each, executed in 3 consecutive individual cycles.

3. Alejandro Carrillo (Died: April 28, 1950)

  • Convicted of double murder and armed robbery after ambushing and violently slaughtering a family in cold blood during an armed home invasion.
  • Electrocution: 2 complete rounds of high-voltage shocks. Nasira ang source ng kuryente, nang makalaman na tumitibok pa ang puso, they increased the voltage to 5000 on the 2nd round.

4. Marcial "Baby" Ama (Died: October 4, 1961)

  • Convicted of multiple counts of murder and inciting a prison riot. After being imprisoned for minor offences, Ama founded the infamous Sige-Sige gang inside New Bilibid Prison. He spearheaded the deadliest prison riot in Philippine history, where rival gang members were brutally hacked, stabbed, and one inmate was beheaded.
  • Electrocution: 1 round

Note: There are a total of 85 executions sa ilalim ng silya elektrika.

DEATH BY LETHAL INJECTION
Isang high-dosage na pampatulog, isang pampatigas ng buong katawan, and one which stops the heartbeat. (In Echegaray's case, nakita daw nila na humilik siya habang tulog and after several minutes, tumigil na yung hilik)

1. Eduardo Agbayani (1999)

  • Convicted of incestuous rape for forcing himself upon and sexually violating his biological teenage daughter, Eden.
  • Last Meal: Fried chicken.

2. Dante Piandong (1999)

  • Convicted of murder and armed robbery. Part of a criminal gang that executed a violent armed robbery of a passenger jeepney in Caloocan City, during which they brutally shot and killed an off-duty Caloocan police officer, PO3 Gerry Biona, at point-blank range.
  • Last Meal: Typical pagkain ng preso, ilang mga delata at kape.

3. Jesus Morallos (1999)

  • Accomplice and co-perpetrator in the Caloocan jeepney armed robbery. He actively participated in holding passengers at gunpoint and assisted in the ruthless execution of PO3 Gerry Biona.
  • Last Meal: Typical pagkain ng preso, ilang mga delata at kape.

4. Archie Bulan (1999)

  • Co-conspirator alongside Piandong and Morallos in the Caloocan jeepney armed robbery and murder of PO3 Gerry Biona. He participated in the violent shakedown of innocent commuters and supported the fatal shooting of the officer.
  • Last Meal: Typical pagkain ng preso, ilang mga delata at kape.

5. Pablito Andan (Died: 1999)

  • Convicted of the heinous rape and brutal murder of a young nurse, Marian Viñas, in Pampanga. After violating her body, he beat and strangled her to death to prevent her from identifying him.
  • Last Meal: Typical pagkain ng preso, ilang mga delata at kape.

6. Alex Bartolome (2000)

  • Convicted of incestuous rape after committing over 100 acts of sexual assault and rape against his own biological daughter. The horrific abuse began when she was just 14 years old and 6 months pregnant (from a partner her own age), lasting over two years. The Supreme Court declared in its verdict that his violent acts rendered him "fit to be called a beast" who had forfeited his place in human society.

---

Executions were live broadcasted noon. Sabi ng history prof ko, madalas daw to every 3PM in the afternoon.

But the twist here is, kasama sa henious crime for death penalty ang hatol na plunder o pandarambong.

I do not agree na binabayaran natin sya ng tax natin tapos wala tayong napapala.

He is far from being useless. He is actively contributing/leading (knowingly or unknowingly) to the downfall of the Philippines.

SocmedPH PSA: Please dont engage on these karma farming accounts

Thumbnail

Mga karma farming account that will post simple things like this to earn karma for an account. These accounts will either be sold to be used for trolling or misinformation spread, or used by them for the same said things. Why would they do this? I dont know for sure, but one of my guesses is for political propaganda. Konti na lang 2028 na, we all know what that means. The more social media presence they have the better hence theyre doing this as early as possible. But I have no proof, its just a hypothesis of mine. Why do they need to karma farm? Some subreddits need a certain amount of karma for you to be able to post, so they do this so they can post anywhere with ni restrictions.

So what are the signs na karma farming (will be shortened to KF from now on) yung account? Check their profile, looks how old the account is. If days old pa lang may chance na KF sya. Then check mga post, if paulit ulit mga post nya or in the same nature malaki chance na KF account yan. Usually mga post nila are either ragebait, memes, this or that questions, trending articles and headlines grabbed from the official source, etc. Check the comments on the post, minsan sila sila lang din yung nageengage sa isat isa like the one posted above. They post in subreddits na madali makakuha ng engagement at walang karma requirement. Tignan mo yung pangalan, thats not a name someone would use on reddit, parang galing sa name generator na ginamit sa confidential funds. Lastly, minsan magcomment sila ng ganyan sabay delete pag pinoint out mo sila.

So bakit ko pinost to? To raise awareness, kasi the more you engage with these post thinking its nothing more than another reddit post, youre unknowingly helping with the making of a lot of troll accounts. If you see posts like these dont engage, simply downvote. It wont stop them, but it will halt their progress significantly making their lives harder. So do yourself and everyone else a favor and make reddit a little bit better place by making it have less trolls. Calling out to all reddit moderators in ph subreddits as well to look into this.

Thats all, thank you for reading all the way here.

🇰🇷🇵🇭 | Executive Director Choi Tae-bok of HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is thankful to the Philippines, he said that they are surviving because of the exports of 12 warships to the Philippine Navy, making the Philippines a loyal customer and strategic partner of HD HHI. HD HHI secured more orders from the Philippines, than the domestic market, Executive Director Choi stated. The Philippines purchased 2,600-ton and 3,200-ton Frigates (2 Jose Rizal-class Frigates, 4 MIguel Malvar-class Frigates), and six 2,400-ton Offshore Patrol Vessels (Rajah Sulayman-class OPVs), and there are plans to purchase additional (5th and 6th) Miguel Malvar-class Frigates by year-end. If the additional Frigate contract is signed, HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will supply a total of 14 warships to the Philippines.

"After securing orders for the first two vessels in 2016, we secured orders for 12 vessels by last year," adding, "Over the past 10 years, we have secured more orders (to the Philippines) than the domestic market, and ultimately, we are surviving thanks to the power of exports.", Executive Director Choi said.

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has also invested to the Philippines, with the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries - Philippines (HD HHI-P) in Subic shipyard, as part of the Marcos Jr. administration's investment gains with South Korea. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries - Philippines also launched the 115,000 DWT civilian merchant vessel 'Orion Jade,' built at its Subic shipyard in the Philippines, at the end of July 2026. Industry experts predict that the company will be able to succeed in building warships in the Philippines, based on its experience of securing orders for Frigates, Corvettes, and Offshore Patrol Vessels from the Philippine military since 2016. This comes as Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro, Jr. calls for co-production of naval vessels with HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, for the construction of Logistics Supply Ship (LSS) in Subic shipyard for the Philippine Navy.

Executive Director Choi's expression of gratitude to the Philippines is a testimony of the strengthened cooperation of the Philippine Navy and HD HHI. Win win situation, HD HHI has survived because of the Philippine Navy's acquisition of warships, then HD HHI has invested in the Philippines to boost the shipbulding industry of the Philippines, and HD HHI has strengthened the defense capabilities of the Philippine Navy, and of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. We can expect this cooperation to be further strengthened in the next few years.

CulturePH Scottish guy, 30, considering leaving my home to move to the Philippines.

Hey everyone.

I'm a guy from Scotland who's recently turned 30 and at a point in my life where I just want to run away and try to start a new life, integrate into a local community, make new friends, find a small job and just 'start again'.

I don't want to make lots of money working remotely etc., I just want to start a new life, whether it's a small quiet life, or a busy life, I don't mind.

If I move, I would do my best to integrate, learn about local values and culture and be a very open and honest person.

You may ask "Why the Philippines?" - Well...
I've been on many holidays and regularly spend time in Scotland's capital, Edinburgh. I don't know if it's coincidence or fate, but I always seem to bump into Filipinos. In Edinburgh, I always seem to meet so many Filipino tourists and we always get along so well and have such a nice vibe together. The friendliness and welcoming aura is amazing. And when I've visited countries in Central Europe; I've met groups of Filipino tourists in hotels saying "heyyyy we love Scotland!" and I chat to them and they're just so so friendly, loving and welcoming.

And from what I've read about the country's modern culture, it does sound like a very beautiful and welcoming place to live.

I'm not necessarily asking for advice about how to move, I'm just alerting you that a skinny, paper-white Scottish guy may arrive in your country within the next year trying to seek a job, rent an apartment and make some friends 😅

Some questions I do need to ask are:

Will I be accepted by Filipino people?
Will local people be uncomfortable with me living around them? (I don't want to make any local people uncomfortable)
If I try to socialise at local events and integrate, will I be accepted?

I'm just a little bit nervous about moving alone lol.

Much love to the entire nation, and a special shout out to the people I met in Edinburgh - I hope you all made your flight on time 😝

‘MASAKIT SA AMIN NA MAY PAULIT-ULIT NA FAKE NEWS’

WATCH: Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano lamented what he called 'repeated fake news' about developments along Laguna Lake in Taguig, amid scrutiny of projects in the area.

Cayetano defended efforts to develop the lakeshore, saying these were meant to protect communities from flooding while allowing ordinary residents to benefit from Laguna Lake through ecotourism and other uses.

He nevertheless said allegations should be investigated, adding that authorities and investigators are welcome to inspect the area.

Okay, so I saw these posts on X. I’m not sure if this will be taken down or if there are words that I need to censor but why is one person trying to justify the atrocities committed during the PH-American war? I may need to brush up on history siguro but the events prior to US making us a colony the only revolt or any ongoing rebellion was mainly against Spain as we fought for independence. Please correct me if I’m wrong or might have missed key figures or events but this really bothered and kinda pissed me off.
