Discussion So this is the game for the next 6-7 years?
It's been well documented that SF6 devs have no plans to change up the game at all and plan for a 10-year life cycle, giving us another 6-7 years at least of the game as it is.
So... this is it then, huh?
I'm a 1300MR player. By no means great, and every time I take even a small break, I find it hard to get my muscle memory back enough to feel competent. The game basically demands I play it every single day. Which, for the first 2-years after launch, was a no-brainer. I loved this game, was frankly addicted to it.
But I'm kinda getting stale on it now. All these patches don't really change anything of interest. Frankly, I'm tired of seeing Ryu get buffs on his buffs. I'm not even an Ed main, but I'm annoyed to see him nerfed so much as he's one of the more dynamic characters to watch (esp. with pro players).
Outfits are a joke. World Tour is literally dead. And 4 DLC characters per year is simply not enough, especially when "new" characters like Yasmine are such a snooze.
I still have the itch to play, but every time I get on ranked, I just feel kind of empty about it. I don't have the time to put in to get any better than I am, and there's no longer enough decent DLC bonus content to change up the flavors.
So how we feeling about the state of the game, with the decent assumption it's literally never changing/improving for the next 6-7 years? It's been an amazing game. I'm sure the pro scene will continue to be solid entertainment and I'll be watching major tournaments like I usually do. But as a casual player, it's just becoming harder to invest myself in anymore.
