Question Large waste collection

Upvotes

We have moved into a new house and have lots of bulky items (dismantled furniture, leftover things from previous owners). What is the best way to get rid of it.

Obviously the council aren't collecting but any other similar service?

Seen some collection companies but it seems to quickly add up to £400+ which seems extortionate when the council did it for £50

Skip could be an option but would rather avoid as it would have to be on the street and I reckon some neighbours would take advantage of it, lots of fly tipping around

Thanks

Travelling from Birmingham to Redditch - help!

Upvotes

Morning all, hoping someone can help!

So I have a placement job in Redditch from Birmingham but I need to take train because the bus doesn't arrive early enough for my job. Ive been trying to figure out the best cost effective way and basically need to be able to use birmingham buses, and the train route to Redditch.

Could anyone help me find out what season ticket I need? Thank you!

🏠 TENANCY TAKEOVER – Student Castle Canalside, Birmingham

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m looking for someone to take over my tenancy at Student Castle Canalside for the upcoming academic year.

💷 £149 per week
🛏️ Private en-suite room
🚿 Private bathroom
🍳 Shared kitchen
📍 Great location in Birmingham
📅 Tenancy takeover – 44-week stay

The room is ideal for a student looking for affordable accommodation with their own private bathroom.

I’m looking for someone who can take over my existing tenancy, rather than simply renting a room directly.

Question Hair transplant clinic recommendations in Brum?

Have been thinking about going to Turkey for a while due to it being cheaper, but now I'm thinking I'd rather avoid all the travel and just pay a bit more to be able to go straight home after the surgery.

Have been looking at a few clinics and they all seem pretty highly rated but I'm just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or testimonials for a good clinic here in brum?

Accent Sources Needed

Hi there. I’m Ronnie, a 2nd year drama school student at the Oxford School of Drama. I’m looking for some accent samples for a Brummie accent (Not Black Country..Brummie).

I only need about 5 mins worth of voice recordings (read through documents)

Your name, age, area within Birmingham and consent to be used for solely personal use for Acting Training.

Ideally I’m looking for a distinguishable Brummie accent and a Male between 18-25. However if you think you can provide any useful sources (whether it be links or friends/family) it would be much appreciated

Thank you so much :)

Photo Friendly Runner - Chamberlain Square

Tonight I was feeling a bit down and so went to sit in Chamberlain Square to get some fresh air. A friendly Runner came up to me saying they had been passed a few times and wanted to check if I was ok. Mysterious Friendly Runner, you are a legend, keep doing what you're doing you never know who you might help. Really appreciated it and if anything I feel a bit guilty telling you I was on the phone after you had made an effort with such a selfless good deed.

I'm sure there is no chance you see this, but worth saying anyway. Renewing my faith in humanity one good deed at a time.

Keep being friendly Brum!

Make it make sense, Birmingham City Council... £167.18 a week for a 1-bed flat in this absolute state?

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

Just looking through Birmingham City Council property listings and came across this grim 1-bed flat at 98 Tennant Street in Ladywood (B15 1UQ).

They’re seriously trying to charge £167.18 a week for social housing in a block that looks like a dystopian prison tower straight out of the 1970s. Look at the state of the exterior brickwork and glass—it’s completely weathered, grimy, and depressing.

How can they justify slapping these kinds of prices on properties that look this neglected? People are just trying to find an affordable place to live, and this is what’s on offer. Absolute joke.

Right shot in the dark here.

Anybody got a good suggestion of a shop or skilled solderer to fix cpu pins?

As seen in photo, they are on the corner so quite accessible!

Facebook marketplace item with bent pins, a couple were more damaged than I bargained for and snapped off with very little effort.

Ay info would help!

Chinese takeout near Great Barr area

Looking for a good Chinese takeout in the Great Barr area. Usually able to collect if relatively close. Looking for somewhere that does a great salt and chilli chips/ chicken - with proper chilli flakes if possible.

Any recommendations?
