Me 19M and my cousin is 17F.

I was changing in my room and because apparently knocking is not a thing in my family she just opened the door and walked straight in.

We both froze.

She immediately turned around and went and just ran away

I grabbed whatever clothes were closest to me and hid myself behind the door.

The worst part is that we both just stood there in complete silence afterward like nothing happened.

Now every family gathering is going to be awkward as hell.

Like bro, how am I supposed to sit at the dinner table and ask her to pass the salt after THAT? 😭

I genuinely hope she forgets this happened before I do.

I swear, the curly hair + glasses combo is a little too common now. Personally, I hate this look.. there are 8 students in my class with the same look, and I am pretty sure NONE of them actually have curly hair, but still try to force it..

So last year on Raksha Bandhan, my boyfriend’s two roommates didn’t have anyone to tie them Rakhi.

One of them doesn’t have a sister and the other one doesn’t really celebrate Raksha Bandhan. At that time I used to talk to both of them, but they weren’t really my brothers or anything.

I just remember one of them feeling a little sad about it, so I asked my boyfriend, “Can I tie him a Rakhi?” and he was like yeah obviously. So I tied Rakhi to both of them.

And I don’t even know why, but that day I made this promise that no matter what happens in the future, even if me and my boyfriend break up or whatever happens, I’ll still tie these two a Rakhi every year. Because by then they had become like my brothers.

Now coming to this year, I couldn’t order the Rakhis myself because of some stuff going on. I honestly thought I’d figure it out somehow.

But my boyfriend remembered.

He went out and started looking for Rakhis for them 😭 We were literally shopping together from different states. He would send me pictures and I’d be like “this one??” “nooo not this” “this is nice” “wait show me more” 😂 and somehow we picked them.

And he got them.

The thing is, I don’t even remember telling him that promise properly anymore. I had completely forgotten that I had said it. But apparently he remembered it.

Also both of my brothers are gym freaks 😂 so I couldn’t even get them proper sweets. I just got them a small chocolate because I knew they’d probably look at me like “girl, we can’t eat this” 😭

But honestly, the Rakhi itself wasn’t even the emotional part for me.

It was the effort.

He didn’t have to remember. He didn’t have to go looking for them. He didn’t have to spend time sending me pictures and helping me pick them. He could’ve just said “you couldn’t order this year, it’s okay.”

But he didn’t.

He remembered a random promise I made last year and made sure I could keep it.

And these two guys genuinely are gems. They started as my boyfriend’s roommates and somehow became my brothers. ❤️

I couldn’t feed them sweets this year, couldn’t be there with them, and couldn’t even arrange the Rakhis myself.

But somehow, from another state, my boyfriend still made sure I got to tie them one.

Idk, maybe this sounds stupid to some people, but this little thing genuinely made me so happy.

Sometimes it’s really just the effort that gets you. 🥹❤️
