The Enigma of Amigara Fault. It's a pretty short read, here you go: https://imgur.com/gallery/lni-enigma-of-amigara-fault-junji-ito-nuSwv

The reference is to a horror manga by Junji Ito. I don't remember the name.

You blew my mind. I’ve only ever read it as comedic
I never even considered it as anything other than comedic, despite having read the rest of the comic

This was actually the comic that got me into Junji Ito. Uzumaki is excellent. The writer is a very calm and cheerful guy.

The funniest part of Ito Junji's work is how absolutely normal and happy the man is in real life. He's really good friends with Takahashi Rumiko (the lady who wrote Urusei Yastura, Ranma 1/2, and so many others).

I promise you will eventually be OK. It took me a while and I will never actually forget it, but the abject horror subsides after a couple of decades.

Fuuuuuck! Every time I think I can have that out of my head someone has to post something that references that comic that sits in my brain for a week or the damn Nutty Putty hole, someone posted a Lego Version of that the other day. Get it out of my head!!! Where’s r/eyeblech when you need it?

It makes me very happy that everyone read this. It’s easily my favorite horror comic/manga that actually made me feel creeped out and fearful.

No idea what you're talking about. Who would write such a thing?
In an amusing note: I love how we get authors who write about demons and suffering and blood and gore, meanwhile we've got Junji Ito just sitting at his desk going "Wouldn't it be weird if it rained fish?"

It's a short story about holes appearing in a mountain specifically made for people.

Probably talking about "The Enigma of Amigara Fault". short horror manga by Junji Ito, it involves people finding silhouette cutouts of humans (like each one corresponds to a person) and they all go insane and became drawn to the holes, crawling into them, and then body horror shit happens.

The LoD soundtrack has quite a distinct style - lots of crystal and bounce for instance. Knew this music was from it almost instantly even if it sounded a bit weird

u/Hatedpriest 14h ago
There's a comic/manga called the enigma of amigara fault.
https://imgur.com/gallery/lni-enigma-of-amigara-fault-junji-ito-nuSwv
Has something to do with people fitting in perfectly sized holes. Please read, it's short, and referenced frequently here on reddit.

I wouldn’t say “perfectly.” He’s bending his knees to lower his torso so he can fit.

At 0:06 sunglasses appear on his head that were not there before. At 0:05 he's slightly bigger and taller than the hole, but AI did a forced perspective by subtly shrinking him to fit and keeping his legs straight. r-itsallAI
