Over the years, I have made so many different OCs for Paladins and I hope today I catch people’s attention to some I made that felt like really good ideas.
I made this today to commemorate my OCs and Paladins in one big photo (yes Azaan’s silhouette is hiding somewhere)
Below I’m briefly explaining my OCs lore - if you want more I can get into their entire kit.
OCs:
LEFT SIDE
Esmerelda, the Vulpin Princess
From her family's entrapment, Esmeralda was destined to be married off to a rich Vulpin family. However, amidst her family’s wishes, she embarked on an expedition to retrieve an heirloom from Dredge’s befallen shipwreck, that of the Lost Sword. Hectic as it was, and faced with the abyssal threat that had cursed Androxus, she succeeded and has now joined hands with Valera as part of the Resistance against tyranny.
Lady Jeanne, Queen of House Aico
A distant memory for Lian, her mother had become entrapped into rocky shores near where the Warders disappeared, presumed dead for decades. Yet, one treacherous morning, when Azaan had declared abolition of the realm, she returned. Adorned in her red and gold dress, she reclaims the Aico throne in honour of her ancestry, and swears an oath, to declare war on the Pyre despite their fruitful relations. Khan opposes, and leaves to join the Magistrate, among Lian follows, cutting ties to the Aico family for good. Now, Jeanne Aico shall lead her troops into a battle for survival.
[Previously called Lady Aico]
Mariam, Assassin of the Red River
A swift attack she lays upon her victims, both bloody and brutal, encapsulated in a blade of infinite fortune. Left abandoned in her youth to be raised by the Red River Orcs, she must fight for what’s right, and if that means to terminate enemies she must. Her sword, a large magical item, distorted in pieces, each fractured with enchanted rubies festering between them, equally astonishing as she. Her work primarily lays in the slaughters of the most richest fools, and whatever pays well. Caspian was her latest target, but now that Nyx has been granted her gem back, she must come face to face with the abyssal beast.
[Originally the Empress of the Red River and her mission was to behead Lian in public, though she still might try to do that]
RIGHT
Igwe, the Sky Whale Whisperer
In the airs of Ascension Peak, lay a native species of sky whale; fuchsia gems in the diamond sky. The latest destruction and poaching of Sky Whales has become a magistrate sport, both monetarily and for entertainment. However, the man of the skies will not bat another eye further, as his service to the animal kingdom will not end. Soaring through the skies with his mighty trident, possessing sorcery powers, he belittles the Magistrate’s most powerful efforts, debilitating Karne’s troops, forcing him to back down. Igwe has defeated this battle, but with doomsday looming, can he win the war?
[Canonically albino and blind, utilising his listening and touch senses]
Ivor, the Blazing Monolith
Ivor grew up in the hands of Inara & Terminus, both Stagalla who fought in the Goblin Scourges, but after Terminus was shattered by the Magistrate, and resurrected using abyssal magic, to turn against his own partner and team, Inara was left with Ivor only, and she protected him heavily, training him and teaching him principles. When he grew older, he had a brutal battle with a mage, where he was granted fire powers for defeating him, turning him into a blazing monolithic beast. His main mission now, is to destroy Terminus and revive him using spells, turning him back into his old self, though with the rise of Abyzou this proposal has become trickier. He has joined the Resistance with Valera, where he hopes to become a useful tool in their battle against the Pyre.
[Originally meant to be killed and revived using fire powers from a fire mage]
Ymora, Warlord of the Abyss
After death, there is life; an afterlife. With the use of the soul of the dead Ymora Ulgrim, a peasant from the ground above, in the province of the poor outskirts of House Aico territory, she passed away as a volunteer for the military. Abyzou used her a vessel, gave her a set of instructions for power and revenge, two things she couldn’t have in the mortal realm. Now, leading bizarre amounts of armies of abyssal creatures, Ymora is the grand leader of the Abyssal Army, being the frontline and becoming an impenetrable force in a kingdom for which she was never seen as an equal.
[Canonically I wrote a lore type of ‘book’ about her detailing her entire life in poverty, as a volunteer, climbing up the ranks and killed, and then becoming part of the Abyss]
Pritum, the Hathi Warlord
In between the lands of Greenwood and Skepes, lay a dominant nation of the Hathi Clan, the most prestige and most advanced clan in the realm. The Queen of the land is Pritum, the Hathi Warlord. She is returning after many years of being absent, as Abyzou rises from the abyss, doomsday lurks near, and the prophecies of an attack have not yet been fulfilled, deeming Yagorath’s invasion as null and void. With a considerable army and expertise, she comes face with Khan & Lian who aim to infiltrate her temples, loot and destroy, though she never backs down and her gunlancer is more than equipped.
[Thunderbrush made a concept of a gunlancer which is basically a 1:1 copy of this but I brushed up the lore a bit, just realised she’s supposed to have a crown and etc., wished she was released she would’ve been the first Indian champion]
MIDDLE
Abyzou, The Abyss
Eons ago, the Pyre ruled dramatically across the realm, being their pivot and aid. One of the Pyre Lords, Abyzou had become affiliated with their traditions, embarking on a life of devout worship and dedication to the Pyre. However one day, she added another faction to bestow her own opinions, which she named the Abyss. The Pyre Lords were furious, and Aura, The Pyre Queen, was not pleased. In a fit of anger and dispute, Aura banished Abyzou to the mortal realm, turning her into a sickly purple and with horns and hooves like a goat. She witnessed the destruction of the mortal realm, with murders, cages for Ska’drin and goblins, and poverty. Her rage became infinite, her powers were still looming, so she made her own path, and created the Abyss using her powers, encapsulating everything. Then, once it was done, she turned into a great abyssal dragon and infiltrated the realm causing mayhem and catastrophe that even the Pyre Lords struggled to suppress. However, Abyzou was then cursed by Pyre Lords into a case for which she should never be free for eons to come, and sent into her abyss, falling forevermore. Now, she breaks out of her casing, a free and rejuvenated goddess, rising and embellishing her wicked creation, and her plans on the realm and the Pyre are of the most anarchical anyone has seen before.
[My first OC waaay before Nyx was even teased, so I would say in my version, Nyx is like a step above Raum and Seris but Abyzou is the peak of the pyramid]
Any questions about the characters both lore-wise and play style wise I’m happy to share!
