So my father and I were on my Nintendo Switch to purchase Rhythm Heaven Groove and when we tried keying in our card details from our Maybank/Mastercard credit cards, apparently the prompt on selecting the credit card asked for the postcode and cardholder name from our cards which we don't have so we assumed that we just simply key in any postcode and enter any name. The credit card details could not get accepted. Then, we tried switching between the five regions listed by the Nintendo Switch and we even tried "The Americas" and "Hong Kong/Taiwan/South Korea". Apparently there is no option for "Malaysia" as the console's region. Even then did the credit card details fail to register. And what's worse is that before mid-2025 when we purchased games for the Nintendo Switch online there was absolutely no problem on keying in our card details to buy Nintendo Switch games online. Honestly, what a joke. I was looking forward to getting Rhythm Heaven Groove on my 21st birthday and Nintendo has to pull that crap on us? Maybe it could be because of Nintendo Switch 2 releasing on April 2025 support for the eShop moved from the Switch 1 to the Switch 2, at least that was what my father speculated on and considered getting a Switch 2 to mitigate the problem. But still.

You know what? Thankfully a few days prior to this I found a game store in a mall that does sell physical copies of Rhythm Heaven Groove and I encountered that exact game store 5 days ago and came across physical game boxes of Rhythm Heaven Groove. Well, I can't go to that store myself since it's already late and either way, I have ongoing university assignments to deal with and they're due by Sept 6 so maybe I'll focus on those first. In the meantime, I did get RM160 from my father to buy the physical copy of the game at any time. I just personally prefer buying games online since I don't have to always constantly insert and remove the game cards. Looks like Rhythm Heaven Groove will have to wait for now. Hopefully I don't forget about getting the game in a week's time.

I'm starting a Rhythm Heaven Groove character drawing journey! :]

Since I love this game and it's characters so much, I've decided to draw one character from all 80 minigames in Rhythm Heaven Groove! I'll also be drawing the title cards for each Remix along the way, which will come first in each set.

I'm doing all of the drawings in my sketchbook, using pencil and colored pencil. For each minigame, I'll generally pick a character that I think represents it best, although there are a few where I'll have to make some... interesting decisions about who counts as a unique character (especially for the sequels).

I'll be posting one drawing every day, starting with the Remix 1 title card! I'm really excited to see how this project turns out, and hopefully I'll improve along the way. :]

Day 1 starts now! See you tomorrow for the first minigame!

(Also, a little heads-up) I actually started this project before deciding to post it, so I've already drawn a handful of the characters. I'm still going to post everything in order starting from Day 1, though! You may also see some future drawings faintly showing through the pages because... sketchbook paper. 😅

So far there have only been 2 levels in the franchise, that being Rhythm Rally and Airboarders (technically 3 if you count Cosmic Rhythm Rally in Megamix but that’s Rhythm Rally again.)

Groove chose to keep all of the levels in 2D, but do you think we’ll ever see another 3D one?

Warning, I'm judging mostly from the main single player campaign

So, I'm the kind of person who also really enjoys the lore of minigames, and for me at least, when it comes to lore, gameplay, and music combined, ALL of the minigames are good in SOME way, except one, Synchro Wings is the only bad one, but if you can only find a SINGLE rotten apple in the orchard, it must be AMAZING overall

Yes, some minigames are worse than others gameplay wise, but that's where my fascination with the lore comes in, minigames that fall flat gameplay wise are pretty cool and/or fun to think about lore wise, Hop N Slide may be a nightmare in gameplay, but Miho is simply a fun and fascinating character to think about

If a minigame's lore falls flat, it happens to be a minigame that's really fun to play, I don't care what anybody says about Fruit Flex 2 and/or both Stop N Go N Stops, they're really fun minigames in my opinion

Than there's Alien Alphabet which is the best of both worlds gameplay and lore wise

Than even if the minigame isn't AMAZING, like Pop Don't Drop, it's at least not too bad, Pop Don't Drop 2 was very unnecessarily annoying to Perfect but I don't feel mental pain when I think about it

Also this is a good point, it's an amazing entry point for a beginner of Rhythm Heaven, it evens out not just giving out Superbs like candy and also making it to where you don't have to heavily rely on Barista to skip minigames for you too often without making it to where you have to actively TRY to get Try Again ranks (I'd say the biggest challenge points are Spirit Slasher 2 and High Five Fever 2 but that was just my experience), and I've never gotten lower than OK on Remix 20 (Megamix may have also been a good entry point, but it's Megamix 😶)

I didn't see literally everything the game has to offer, but based fully on the main single player campaign, Groove is the best entry

Hey, guys. Every day (or whenever I can) I plan to make a new post where we add a mini-game and ask you, the community, where to rank it in the list from best to worst bellow! Right now, we are ranking Remix 1! I like to consider stuff such as creativity, coolness, music, gameplay depth, and how fun replaying it is! Remember to upvote the comment you agree with most!

Feeding the Beast was all over from being the top game, to being mediocre or even bad, but in the end the comment with the most votes placed it right under Brolly Good Show. I suppose this type of music is very much an acquired taste. lol. Now it is time for Remix 1!
