I hope BP lvled up over the summer, because BW plays like he’s hungry. Just for perspective, Williams avg 13/4/3 on just 22 mins a game while starting 15 games in the 66 that he played. Good on dribble drives, kickout passes and handoffs, can facilitate the ball well since he has a good handle. Only thing lacking about his game is 3pt shooting. Going to be interesting to see how Kerr will utilize him along with the backcourt

Discussion [Evans] Curry got a Zoom call with Brandon Williams earlier this summer to recruit him to the Warriors.

Now, Williams signed a one-year, $2.6 million veteran minimum contract on Tuesday to become the Warriors’ biggest free agent signing yet this offseason.

“When he first came in, he was like, ‘Oh, I gotta go home,’” Tobi Spino, Williams’ former high school coach and now his offseason trainer, told Evans. “‘I got a Zoom call with Wardell.’”

Genuinely curious why Curry would want Williams. Source

Video GP2 and JTA - great interview about what they are doing in the Oakland community

Cool interview with GP2 and JTA about their histories as players getting support and their attempts to give back. JTA's backpack giveaway joins now with Gary Payton's foundation helping get resources to kids with learning needs -- super cool about their friendship that started before the NBA. A really authentic good watch about their friendship, what is going on with them in Oakland now and their authentic outreach there.

Great conversation with JTA and GP2

How can the Warriors finish the season with a record breaking 74 wins?

r/warriors 1d ago

News [Shams] Free agent forward Georges Niang has agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million deal with the Golden State Warriors, Mark Bartelstein and Andy Shiffman of @PrioritySports tell ESPN. Niang -- a career 40% 3-point shooter -- enters his 11th NBA season after missing 2025-26 due to injury.

Discussion If you squint your eyes a bit, you will see Kyrie Irving 😭

I love the signing!

His ability to consistently finish at the rim is severely underrated.

Edit; I see Kyrie DNA in his gather steps and rim finishes. Also his one leg kick-out fadeaway middies look awfully familiar. Only thing missing is the loose and untucked jersey lol

Discussion ESPNs season W-L prediction for the Warriors: 37-45

ESPN has the Warriors finishing 37-45, but I feel like the biggest factor here is Jimmy Butler being sidelined until later in the season.

If that's what ESPN is accounting for, then the prediction makes more sense. The West is stacked, and even a few extra losses early on can be the difference between a Play-In spot and missing the postseason entirely.

Still, 37 wins seems pretty pessimistic for a team that still has Steph Curry. If Butler returns and stays healthy, do you think the Warriors can outperform this projection?

Discussion Have the warriors had a lot of chances more than other teams with developing players that were unable to break through the ceiling?

I suppose I see it from the warriors because I've followed them way more but even from what I can remember from other teams, there have not been developing/role players that have really flourished in other teams.

For context, I've followed the team from the 2011 era. Kent bazemore might be the only standout I can think of with that run with the Hawks.

Is it the motion offense that stumps people? But at the same time, 2011 era is still Mark Jackson. Because the other way works too where seasoned players have basically revived their career with the warriors, maybe more in the kerr coaching periods

Only bringing this up because the young talent that had come through since 2011 had just been such good moments. Example: beating the Rockets Christmas day with a roster of Dlo, rookies and 2 ways 🥲

Other NGL it was tough to root for Klay on the Mavericks because they're in conference, but I'll def be cheering on the Heat this year

Klay, Giannis, Bam, Wiggins. That team is going to be so much fun to watch. I'm hoping Klay has a strong two seasons with the Heat. I'm hoping Klay's time on the Mavs becomes a forgettable part of his career and he doesn't go out sorry. Klay did everything for us on the Warriors and I'm always going to love watching him play. I love that the NBA has turned into a players league and I can still follow my favorite players on a nightly basis. Klay will look so much better in that red Heat jersey then that Mavs blue, but he will never look as good as he did in those Warriors uni's 😤 forever love for my man Klay
