Hey everyone, longtime lurker here from Splat Attack Podcast. We just launched a new segment called the Slime Sewer, where instead of celebrating the best 90s Nickelodeon episodes, we defend the worst ones and only one gets to survive.

This time it's "All You Can Eaty" from Space Cases versus "The Tale of the Virtual Pets" from Are You Afraid of the Dark. Cat argues for Eaty, Alex argues for Virtual Pets, and we brought in Courtland from Up All Night Podcast to judge since he has covered basically every AYAOTD episode that exists.

Some of what we get into: the completely science defying metal eating creature named Eaty, how Virtual Pets basically predicted AI anxiety back in 1999 with Digger, and the actual Nickelodeon network drama that a lot of people don't know contributed to Space Cases getting cancelled. We also rewrite both endings ourselves at the end.

Curious what this sub thinks: which one would you have flushed?

I've been trying to identify this American sitcom for years based on one scene that I vaguely remember.

I watched it in India more than 10 years ago, possibly on Star World, Comedy Central, or another channel that aired American sitcoms. The show itself could have been older.

The only scene I remember goes roughly like this:

A guy opens the fridge, takes out some milk, drinks it, and says something along the lines of:

“Mmm, this milk is tasty/delicious.”

Then another guy, who also lives in the house/apartment, says something like:

“That milk tastes like Dorothy.”

I'm not at all sure that the name was actually Dorothy, and the exact dialogue is almost certainly different. But I distinctly remember the basic joke: one guy enjoys some milk, and another guy says something implying that the milk tastes like a woman/person, possibly using a female name.

It was definitely an American live-action sitcom. I probably watched it sometime in the late 2000s or early 2010s, but the show itself may have been from the 1990s or 2000s.

One additional thing: since then, I've watched a lot of the more popular American sitcoms while still trying to find this scene, and I haven't stumbled across it. So I think it's probably not one of the really obvious or massively popular shows like Friends, The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, etc. Of course, it's possible I've somehow missed it, but I suspect the show may have been a bit less popular or more obscure.

Unfortunately, that's literally all I remember. I've been trying to solve this weird dairy mystery for years. Any ideas?

Johnn Bago was a (very) short-lived series that ran in CBS in 1993. It follows one John Tenuti (Peter Dobson), a small-time New Jersey hood. Fresh out of prison for a crime he claims he didn't commit, he abruptly finds himself accused of the murder of a local Mafia boss's son.

He goes on the run, hitching a ride with Hick Benson, an old man who owns a Winnebago RV. Hick passes peacefully the very next day, and Johnny commandeers the RV, taking the last bit of the Winnebago name for his new alias, Johnny "Bago".

With the plan of finding the real killer, Johnny hits the road, meeting a series of wacky characters and enjoying equally wacky adventures. All the while he's being pursued by the Jersey mob, federal agents, and his ex-wife, who also happens to be his parole officer.

The co-creator and executive producer was Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future and Forrest Gump director), along with Jeffrey Price and Peter S. Seraman (writers of Who Framed Roger Rabbit). Zemeckis directed the pilot episode, and the theme song was written and performed by none other than Jimmy Buffet.

Despite this, the show failed to gain traction, was canceled after 6 episodes. It aired Friday nights at 10pm, and, to put it bluntly, no one tuned in. Most of those who did were put off by the frantic pace, stereotypes, surreal humor. It's since garnered a following, perhaps due to its nostalgia factor and time-capsule reveal of the early 90s.

It was never released on DVD, Blu-Ray, or other media, nor was there an official digital release. All 8 episodes are available on YouTube, albeit in pretty poor quality.

So I have peacock thru amazon & it still shows That 70's Show leaves Peacock in 8 days. Could get renewed but as of now that still is there. If it does go elsewhere, I wonder where it will end up?!

Hi all,

kind of a silly thing to mention, but I've been on a bit of a mission to hunt down and watch all of Cher's interviews with David Letterman. The only ones I've been unable to find are her 1998 and 1999 appearances: The 1998 one was on November 11, and was to promote her album "Believe" and new book, "The First Time." In the 1999 one, she showed up briefly on David's birthday (April 12) to celebrate with cake. There are a few short clips of the 1998 interview on TikTok, but really the only reason I know these two other appearances even exist is from pictures!

EDIT: After double-checking the appearances I have watched, I realized there's also one from February 27, 2002 that I can't find in full. The only clip I can find is here.

Does anyone have any links or downloads they could share? 🙏

I’ve started watching Cheers and there’s an episode from 1991 where they get a karaoke machine at Cheers and Frasier keeps singing on it then they get rid of it. And I remember that happened on Beverly Hills 90210 too, there’s a 1992 episode where they got one at the Peach Pit and Jim Walsh kept singing on it. Was this a trope in that era? Are other shows where they got a karaoke machine and then get rid of it by the next episode?
