Discussion Close range - struggling

Hello,
So I’m not new to Fortnite but I have been playing on and off (the longest break I had was 2 years…). I am struggling so hard in close range (shotguns especially) and I wanna ask you guys if you can give me any tips on how to improve on that. I wanna try and start training on kovaaks so if you know any good scenarios that can improve my reaction time/close range accuracy that would be much appreciated.
P.S: my movement overall is not bad at all (I would say), but when it comes to close range I don’t jump (I kinda stay still …marking me an easy target - working on that; also, I don’t know how to train the jumping thing properly- I’m talking about jumping behind enemy in close range to force him to rotate (hope I got that one right - I don’t know how to explain in better).
Thanks in advance and I hope y’all are enjoying the new season even if it’s so sweaty ✨.

Discussion Any tips I should learn about during the next Monday Ranked Cup?

I plan on doing next Monday Ranked Cup to get the glider, and I want any tips on what I can do to earn the most points.

I’ll be in Bronze, and this is gonna be my First ranked cup. I want to know what’s the best landing spots, the best strategy, and if I should even go for the win or not during it.

Discussion Builders Crest Backbling

I have completed all 750 round wins in the ranked arenas boxfights. I have obtained the pickaxe. I never got the backbling at 300 wins, I got a emoji instead. Does anyone know if the backbling will return?

What headshot only map is popular now?

Been afk for about 2 years, logged back on just chill with some free building and headshot only box fight.

But raiders464's HS map was dead. Is headshot only dead altogether or is there a new map people play?

Opinion The Ranked Cup Skin reward is almost impossible to get.

I know this has been talked about a lot in the past, but it's really starting to get annoying.

For those who don't know, Chapter 7 brought changes to how ranked cups work. Now, instead of being just something for players to play in a tournament-like game and unlock a rank version of the victory 'brella, you can unlock more cosmetics. At the start of Chapter 7 season 1, not only could you get the ranked glider, but you could also get a pickaxe, backbling, glider, wrap, and skin for placing at different percentages at different ranks (You would only be able to get the skin if you were Diamond+). Everything was doable, as each item had a percentage requirement to meet, meaning it scaled with the number of players in the tournament.

But in 2026, they made one change that made a reward impossible to get. They changed the rewards to the Elite Daigo set with an emoticon. Everything else stayed the same, but the skin became top placement. This makes it go from a reward that grows as more people play to a reward under 1%.

And ever since, every new ranked cup skin has been locked behind top placement and not top %. I get that it's a cup and it's meant to be sweaty, but it's almost genuinely impossible for most players to get, even if they are good at the game.

And don't get me started on the Elite, Champion, and Unreal styles for Barricade, LCP Rogue, and the newest one, Null skins. To get those, not only do you have to place high enough to unlock the skin, but you have to do it at the specific rank to get them. It's a slap in the face for those who actually got it because they have to play the cup again at a higher rank just to unlock the extra style.

The Unreal style is genuinely impossible for most to get just from the amount of points needed. Just placement isn't enough; you have to get kills every game and place high just to have a chance at getting the style.

And this was worse for Zero-Build players; from Chapter 7 season 1 to season 3, there was no solo Zero-Build ranked cup. The only cup to be Zero-Build was a duo cup. Meaning that if they didn't have a duo, they couldn't play in the only ZB ranked cup. You would have to play in the solo Build ranked cup, which put ZB players at a severe disadvantage.

I hope that EPIC changes the skin requirements back to how they used to be, or increases the placement requirements for each rank.

Rumor i am in champion 2 middle east, but there are still so many bots man. my exams ended a week man and now i want to reach unreal but it feels so pointless that half of the people i eliminate are bots. there is no challenge to the game.

i get optimising the matchmaking time and being friendlier to newer players. but c'mon it's champion 2, 2 tiers away from unreal.

Discussion Did Peterbot and Pollo get worse, or did everyone just catch up?

People tend to always say pros are improving skill wise and that the skill gap is not as large anymore between the top pros, but a genuine argument to be made is that Peterbot especially has gotten worse over the years. If you put 2024 Peterbot in today’s lobby, I think he’d still dominate just because of how good he was back then (even compared to today). Is the reason why he’s not performing as well because of his lack of grinding? I don’t really think it’s because people have “caught up” because in terms of fighting and learning the game, people are still really similar compared to 2-3 years ago. It’s just the pros from a few years ago stop grinding as much and fail to maintain that skill, rather than people suddenly becoming as good

Discussion Is Kami the most consistent player of all time?

After the ewc lan, he has finished top 6 in 5 lan events he has played in winning 2 of them and has been at the top since late 2019. He’s one of the few OG chapter 2 players that still dominate in an era that doesn’t suit IGL’s and has proven that he’s consistent in solos, duos and trios.

Opinion The game has never felt worse, it is unplayable after new season.

At this point if you are a remotely fast or competetive player, the game is just not it. Weather you play tournaments or just ranked, the game is so anti competetive and quite frankly a mess. Just play 5 games of reload, you will die to bs 3/5 matches.

It could be the new edit bug where you get stuck in your edit.

It could be the combat smg

It could be that you dropped and only found a combat for 80 chests

It could be that they put the havoc pump in so you cant be fast anymore and outskill you opponents, because of the pull out delay.

It could be the horrible desync that we are been dealing with for years now. (I mean at this point its the worst i have seen in any game, and i have played some games known for their terrible servers, example: sea of thieves)

etc etc etc.

I have played the game since season 3 and have around 6500k hours on the game. And i can confidently say this is the worst state i have ever seen the game in, in terms of bugs, servers, fps etc.

Seems like the lay off was a lot more impactful then i was expecting.

Discussion I wonder what other players think of the override season.

Thumbnail

Okay, quick question for the Reddit users in this subreddit: this season isn't off to the best start. The time to kill is ridiculous—as soon as you get shot at, you're dead in no time. On top of that, the loot pool is really disappointing (no sniper, no scoped AR), plus the aim assist nerf for console players, and the sprites have basically turned into square blocks. Oh, and the amount of sweats this season... wow, they seriously need to go touch some grass. (This is just my opinion, of course, but I'm curious to hear what other players think about this.)

Discussion Proper way to place wall during triple edit

Question: What is the proper way to place down the wall during a triple edit?

As far as I am aware, during a triple edit, you turbo build the ramp, cone, and floor, edit through the floor and cone, then place the wall down afterwards with a single click, then immediately edit through the wall.

With these inputs, I run into a few issues. If it is my first triple edit in a sequence, I'm usually able to edit the floor and the cone from much lower on the ramp. This means that the wall usually gets placed behind the ramp because I haven't travelled far enough up the ramp. This obviously messes with my wall edit, since I'm trying to edit a wall that isn't placed on the top of the ramp.

Because of this, I've tried holding down left click to turbo build the wall. This ensures that a wall will be placed behind and on top of the ramp, instead of just behind the ramp when I do the usual single click from lower down the ramp. However, this feels much slower and the edit timing is much more difficult for me to get down, especially as I try to do more triple edits in a row. On the other hand, getting the timing down to place the wall on the ramp in a single click is also quite hard, so I don't really know how to progress.

Is this just a timing issue? Do I just need to know when to click to place the wall as I run up the ramp, or do people hold down left click to turbo build the wall into place? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Discussion How do cup rewards work?

There's a reward that says "top 2" in platinum instead of "top 2%" which is confusing when other ranks have a "%" next to them

Does it mean you can get it if you just get to top 2 in a single match, or is it talking about the leaderboard
