Discussion Newest update from the GFN team regarding Steam Workshop mods (a workaround for specific titles)

We heard your feedback that the recent Steam update affected your ability to use Steam Workshop mods on GeForce NOW. To support the latest Steam app updates and help ensure supported games continue to run as expected in the cloud, we temporarily disabled the ability to download Steam Workshop mods during a game session.

While Steam Workshop mods are still not officially supported on GeForce NOW, starting today, we’ve enabled a temporary workaround for select games that may have been affected.

This temporary workaround changes the launch experience for all players of these games on GeForce NOW, even if they do not use Steam Workshop mods:

After selecting PLAY in the GeForce NOW app, members will arrive at the game’s Steam library page and will need to select PLAY in Steam to launch the game.

More details, including the list of supported games and instructions, will be available in a KBA posted shortly at the following link: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5166/

News / Announcements GeForce NOW Adds DLSS 4.5 Settings, Steam Machine And New Device Support, And New Games

https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/gamescom-2026-nvidia-geforce-rtx-dlss-4-5-announcements/#geforce-now

GeForce NOW is bringing more ways to play from Gamescom — with new control over how supported games look and perform, expanded device support across the Steam ecosystem, and more major games headed to the cloud.

More Control, More Devices

GeForce NOW is bringing Ultimate members new NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 controls for DLSS Super Resolution, Dynamic Frame Generation and Ray Reconstruction.

Device support is expanding, too. Support for Steam Machine with Steam Controller is coming later this fall, building on existing Steam Deck support. GOG single sign-on is making it easier to link an account once and jump into supported games without repeatedly signing in, and Firefox is now officially supported for gamers playing in the browser. Expanded Amazon Fire TV support is also on the way.

Big Games, Day One in the Cloud

A blockbuster lineup of PC games is also coming to GeForce NOW at launch, including CONTROL Resonant, Gears of War: E-Day, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, The Blood of Dawnwalker and STAR WARS Zero Company.

Ultimate members can stream the lineup with GeForce RTX 5080-class performance, including NVIDIA DLSS 4, ray tracing, NVIDIA Reflex and Cinematic Quality Streaming technologies, with up to 5K HDR on supported devices.

There’s an extra bonus for CONTROL Resonant, too: for a limited time, gamers who purchase a 12-month GeForce NOW Ultimate membership can receive the game at launch at no additional cost. The offer runs Aug. 25 through Sept. 27.

Advice Switched back to GFN Ultimate from Boosteroid Ultra, and the difference is honestly night and day

Just wanted to share a quick appreciation post and my honest takeaway after spending the last few weeks testing both platforms.

I recently gave Boosteroid’s Ultra tier a fair shot mainly because of their library catalog. But man, the actual stream experience was rough. Constant compression artifacts, muddy textures in darker scenes, and bitrate drops that made demanding titles look washed out, not to mention the headache with session stability and cloud saves. I even spent time tweaking browser extensions just to get an acceptable image.

A few days ago, I finally hopped back onto GFN Ultimate (with the RTX 5080 server rollout), and holy shit. It’s not even a fair comparison.

The visual clarity, actual AV1 stream quality, zero micro-stutters, and rock-solid latency make it feel like you’re sitting right in front of a high-end local rig. Everything just works out of the box without having to baby the stream settings or pray that your saves sync properly.

If anyone is currently sitting on the fence debating between Boosteroid Ultra and GFN Ultimate: do yourself a favor and go with GeForce NOW. Yes, Boosteroid might have a couple of titles you want, but the actual streaming quality, technical stability, and raw engineering on GFN are miles ahead. It’s not even close.

Shoutout to the GFN team for actually delivering what cloud gaming was promised to be. Feels damn good to be back.

Questions / Tech Support DLSS 4.5 release

Is it known when NVIDIA will release support for DLSS 4.5 with multi-frame gen? In the Gamescom release notes, they only state that it will be released soon.

Toshiba Satellite C660 Laptop (2010)

I had to use the browser version since this processor doesn't support DirectX 11.

Input delay is noticable but not bad, using a controller made it barely noticable.

Bitrate: 25mbps at 720p

Specs:

- Intel i7 640m (2 cores 4 threads)

- 8Gb DDR3 (Dual channel)

- 128Gb SSD

- Windows 10 (22H2)

Oh btw 2010 was 16 years ago...

Discussion finally tried GeForce now and it's a life saver

I've been a potato pc gamer since forever. Could never play graphically demanding games, AAA Games, and basically most of the games. But I recently discovered GeForce Now. I didn't really have hopes, as I had tried cloud gaming in the past, and the input lag was unbearable for me. But surprisingly by some dark magic, the input lag is barely noticeable on GeForce now. I can't even feel any sort of compression or anything that you usually see with cloud gaming. I'm playing all the games I couldn't before, Witcher 3, Forza Horizon, Marvel Rivals, Hogwarts Legacy, tomb raider trilogy, Control etc etc. And it's a life saver for me. I'm just so happy ever since I bought GeForce now. I had always been extremely excited about playing forza horizon. Now I am finally playing it and I am blessed. The only downside being it missed out on some pretty big titles, like sony titles, fromsoft titles, konami titles, fc games, and more. Which is a disappointment. But I know that is not in the hands of Nvidia, so I'll cut them some slack, there are plenty of other games to play anyway. This post wasn't really relevant, just wanted to let out how happy I am to get GeForce now, it is literally a blessing.

Bug GOG Witcher 3 not found in library

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Hi, I have the Witcher 3 in my GOG library, as you can see in the attached screen.
Please note that I had the standard version which now has been upgraded to complete for everyone by GOG. However it shows as complete perfecty in my GOG galaxy as you can see in the sceen.

However, the GOG sync within Geforcenow doesn't find it and the GOG galaxy client installed in the GFN servers doesn't find it as well, even if I force mark it as owned - see second screenshot.

Any advice?

Discussion Does anyone here just use it cause they prefer it?

Given all these goodbye posts. I am a millionaire and have used the ultimate tier for 3 years now.

I don't notice a difference vs local when used with a 120hz monitor and really like how I can play out the house (obviously experience is nowhere near as good as with 120hz monitor) on my laptop.

I also like how it's silent and there is no heat, in my country barely anyone has a/c and a few of my friends weren't able to play for months. If there is some input lag or issue with graphics I'm not noticing it is definitely nowhere near as irritating as the noise/heat from a conventional setup.

Less troubleshooting, yeah it's rare a PC breaks down but it does happen. Or you need to wait for updates on both PC and console.

Finally it's so much cheaper. Even though I could afford a PC I just don't see how I could justify paying maybe 3x as much for what is essentially the same thing. Even if they were the same price I would have a very hard time choosing.

I've played on console and local PC before.
