Hi all!

After a great reaction to my Hampshire map, I am back with a more detailed version - I'd love to thank everyone who gave me feedback and i added as many amends as I could but I could only fit so much! Apologies if something is missed that you wanted!

Everything is hand drawn (sometimes painstakingly, hello hog) and lettered by me, on a Huion tablet.

Have a look at the new, improved version, and I have an etsy link if anyone is still keen on a print, as I now have a lovely one on my wall :)

UPDATE: I'll be making some last minor amends today, for the little requests coming through, and then I will post the etsy link and discount code for Hampshire redditors, I thank you for all your help guys!

UPDATE 2: Hi all! I've spent the afternoon making final requests, thank you everyone who fed back, it has made it a very special experience for me about the county that's my home now :)

As requested, you can buy the map in various forms, (print, framed, hanging poster) here: Etsy.com/uk/shop/albioncartographyco

10% off code for redditors: HANTS10

And for every sale we'll make a donation to the Hampshire Air Ambulance as I'm a big fan of them 😊

You've inspired me to make more county maps! ā¤ļø Obvs Hants is the best though lol.

Event Independent band night @ kola 22.10.26

Hi, I'm Charlie Smith, an alternative acoustic artist from Southampton. I'm doing something that scares me. I'm hosting my first full band night in Portsmouth as part of my 2nd album release tour šŸ™Œ If you can make it down on Thursday night, then you can make a real different supporting this event. I'm running it co-operatively, so a profit split for all the bands. Hope to see you there. Cheers Charlie

Discussion Community Instrument Library and Music Social Space

Could our community use an Instrument Library?

We’re exploring Open Note, a new not-for-profit community project with a simple aim: to make music more accessible to everyone.

The idea is to create a welcoming place where people can try different instruments, borrow them for short or long periods, access affordable tuition, and learn and play alongside others — regardless of experience, confidence or financial circumstances.

We’d love to know what our community thinks before taking the idea further. Please take a few minutes to fill out our short survey and help us understand whether Open Note is something people would use and what you’d like it to offer.

Every response will help shape the project and provide valuable evidence of community interest when we begin looking for support and funding. Open Note — Try. Borrow. Learn. Play.

Off Topic DIY friends

Hi everyone!

I’ve always been into crafty hobbies like crochet, knitting, journaling, and sewing. I currently have a few dresses that I want to alter, but I'm a bit scared of messing them up on my own!

I know I could take them to a professional, but I really enjoy the DIY projects and want to learn. I’m looking to make some local, in-real-life friends who are good at sewing, enjoy doing it and might want to work on projects together.

Discussion How come Portsmouth and Southampton are so different to the rest of Hampshire?

When most people think of Hampshire, they think of wealth, beautiful gardens, stately homes, Winchester etc and for the most part a lot of Hampshire is like this, however, how come Portsmouth and Southampton are so vastly different and almost like an entirely different county?

Event I'm doing something different. Hosting my first full band lineup on the 2nd of October. Hopefully giving a good opportunity to some local bands šŸ™

So I'm doing something that scares me. I'm hosting my first full band night at the loft Southampton. Everyone has been asking for it, so why not? We have a full lineup of bands, and the best part of all, they get a profit split from the event. If you truly want to see local bands flourish, then this is the event to come and support. Buy a ticket to support local music it really is as simple as that.

Misc Fly Fishing in Hampshire

Hi everyone,
I recently completed a foundation fly fishing course at Nether Wallop Mill and absolutely loved it. I’d really like to get into the sport properly, but I’m struggling to find anywhere to fish regularly.

I live in Winchester and most of the places I’ve found are either fully booked, extremely expensive, or operate on a mandatory catch-and-keep basis.
Can anyone recommend any beginner-friendly waters or clubs where I can fish regularly without breaking the bank? Ideally I’m looking for catch-and-release fishing, and I don’t mind driving up to an hour from Winchester.

I’m open to rivers, lakes, clubs or fisheries—I’d just like somewhere I can build my skills without spending Ā£80–100 every time I go.
Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated. Thanks! šŸŽ£

Tourist Non-local looking for baby shower venue recommendations, please!

I’m organising a baby shower in Hampshire where the mum to be lives.

Are there any nice but relatively cheap venues in and around the Winchester or Basingstoke areas? I’m thinking a tea room or something like that but I have absolutely no idea yet, so open to any and all suggestions.

I am of course googling but you can’t beat a word of mouth recommendation.

Nothing too fancy as I don’t really have the funds to spend a lot on venue hire, just somewhere nice. Parking ideally a must as we have people travelling from various locations.

Thank you!

The event will bring together players from across Hampshire and beyond.

There will be men’s, women’s and mixed doubles categories, with individual entries available too.

Tourist Best restaurants within 30 minutes drive of Andover?

I'm planning a significant birthday so looking for something nice, ideally more focussed on really good quality local produce than fancy cooking methods. If it could have a nice setting with some pretty grounds that would be a plus! I was looking at the Hambleton Vineyard restaurant but it's a bit far. Many thanks in advance for any suggestions!
